Taliban launch attack on Kabul airport

Insurgents in Afghanistan have launched a pre-dawn attack near Kabul's main international airport .

Explosions and gunfire have been heard coming from an area that also houses major foreign military bases.

Witnesses said gunmen took over a building in the west of the airport and began a stand-off with Afghan security forces.
