Makati can operate 14 schools, other institutions in Taguig territory, says law expert

Law expert Justice Rogelio V. Quevedo says that it is clear that the Makati City government has authority to operate and own its schools, university, hospital and other institutions beyond its territorial jurisdiction, even if these are under the map of Taguig City. He cites that Makati Mayor Abigail "Abby" Binay has corporate powers which allows ownership over these institutions. On the other hand, Mayor Lani Cayetano of Taguig has governmental powers, even visitorial powers to enter these institutions at any given time. Unless a sale or a written agreement has been reached, Makati still owns its buildings and institutions within Taguig.
