Hannah Shafaat is a researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Bioinorganic Chemistry in Mülheim, Germany. Originally from San Diego, Hannah is studying hydrogen-producing enzymes. Hydrogen is a promising source of energy. The big challenge for scientists is understanding the enzymes that produce it, and finding a way to do it sustainably and on a large scale.
