Judge doubles sentence for Russian opposition activist

A Russian opposition activist has been jailed for eight years for drug dealing. The sentence is twice as long as prosecutors had demanded, leading to claims that the case is politically motivated.

Taisiya Osapova, a member of the 'Other Russia' party, was arrested after police found nine grams of heroin in her house in Smolensk in 2010.
