US embassy staff shot at by Mexican police

Mexican police have shot and wounded two US Embassy staff in what officials are describing as a case of mistaken identity.
Officers fired on a vehicle carrying the pair, wrongly believing that the car belonged to a group of suspected kidnappers they were chasing.
The embassy staff are said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
