For much of this week, there will be a threat of severe thunderstorms in the Northern Plains.
Transcript
00:00We will be watching out for a risk of severe weather pretty much every single day this week
00:04across parts of the northern plains especially. Here's the overall setup. This area of high
00:09pressure, this heat dome across the desert southwest is pretty much funneling all this
00:13gulf moisture up the plains and that moisture is providing all the fuel that these storms need
00:18to fire. Here's the overall risk of severe weather we are tracking here for today.
00:23You can see some of the images coming in already there on the right hand side of your screen from
00:27brush in Colorado right there of some small hail and we've seen some hailing thunderstorms
00:32there with some severe storms already across the high plains of Nebraska, Colorado, even
00:37down into parts of the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles. We've also seen widespread severe weather
00:41here across parts of Montana as well. So we're going to be tracking this potential here as
00:45we had throughout this evening and tonight. But the highest potential for severe weather
00:49is actually going to be in the forecast for tomorrow. We'll be tracking a risk of large
00:52hail, damaging winds, even an elevated tornado threat across the high plains for your Tuesday
00:57evening.
