Soaking storms track into the Ohio Valley and Northeast

A storm system will be moving from the Midwest into the Northeast on June 5, posing widespread risks for flooding and damaging winds.

00:00 We're gonna be watching these storms rumble east into the upper Mississippi

00:03 Valley through the evening and tonight and re we pick this storyline up then

00:07 tomorrow a little farther east into the Ohio Valley. Yes, unfortunately we get

00:11 to do it all over again when it comes to the storm starting to fire off

00:15 across parts of the nation. This time we are tracking storms anywhere from the

00:20 Great Lakes, even the upper Midwest coming down through the southeast as

00:25 well. Some of those storms could turn locally severe with drenching rain and

00:30 gusty winds going to be one of our top concerns. So pretty humid though and

00:34 well sticky in the southeast. Watch what happens though with this storm. You'll

00:39 start to see that core of the upper level low. You see this big bowling ball

00:42 right? That's where the upper level low is going to be anchored and that's going

00:47 to be centered right there across southern Canada in the upper Midwest.

00:51 What happens when you are right under an area of low pressure like this? Well we

00:57 are concerned about hail and drenching downpours anywhere across southern

01:03 Canada, Thunder Bay, Duluth, all the way down through Madison with sudden

01:07 downpours on tap even as we do head into Wednesday evening. Now it's not the only

01:12 area that we're concerned about further east along that line that was also

01:17 screaming lots of upper-level energy. That's going to extend anywhere from

01:22 Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Nashville, even through Shreveport Wednesday into

01:25 Wednesday night. Hail, flooding downpours and well don't forget about those winds.

01:30 They can pack some damage. Gusting anywhere between 50 to 60 miles per hour

01:35 accurate local storm at 75 miles per hour. Now I do want to pick this up where

01:40 Jeff did leave off starting us off for our Wednesday. It's gonna be a little bit

01:46 of a rough commute there anywhere from Indianapolis down through southern

01:50 Illinois where we are tracking some drenching downpours and well look at

01:55 this nasty line how it's setting up. I'm not gonna be surprised if we do have a

01:59 few gusty wind reports there as well so heads up if you're gonna be out and

02:04 about early on your commute. Those storms barrel east they spread across

02:08 the Ohio Valley and while you're starting to see those screaming colors

02:12 there right when you get into the Reds we're talking some downpours and

02:16 unfortunately some of these storms could produce hail. Now another area of concern

02:22 as we head into Wednesday evening even Thursday, Mississippi, Alabama those

02:27 storms start to congeal together forming that line that starts to bow out. Gust

02:31 winds are going to be a high concern so heads up in that region as well before a

02:36 lot of that rain does shift further east. Not completely out of the picture even

02:40 as we head into Thursday Friday as that storm does continue to advance.
