Severe storms and snow to sweep through the Midwest just before spring arrives

The middle of this week will bring chances of severe storms to a large swath of the Midwest while heavy snow pushes from Iowa to the Great Lakes.

00:19The daytime is gonna be great here across the plains

00:21But for iowa for parts of nebraska and parts of missouri late tomorrow to parts of wednesday morning

00:27We will see some showers and storms

00:29But jeff the most widespread chance of storms is going to be on wednesday stretching from the great lakes down through the mississippi

00:34That's a big area here detroit and jackson on the same page here with some strong thunderstorms

00:39It's a some risk so it's not off the charts

00:41But it will still be disruptive for some and the other thing that we're really going to be tracking here with this is going to

00:45Be some accumulating and impressive snowfall totals this darker shade of blue right there is where we can see between half a foot

00:52To a foot of total snowfall. Yeah that area around northwest iowa right up into northern michigan

00:57That's a big stripe of 6 to 12 inches of snow
