00:00uh okay so uh matt shaw has been up and down this season for the cubs he's had a nice week

00:05529 three home runs six runs driven and he'll stick no matter what i what they do here but

00:10i i would imagine the cubs are going to look different george next week in chicago if you

00:15followed their trajectory the last couple of years this is where they've been george last two years

00:21like on the cusp right there close to the playoffs and then september comes and it's like it just

00:27ends for them they're not going to let that happen this year it may it may still happen again but

00:31they're not going to just go with what they got here i think some big moves are coming for them

00:34once again you and i are in agreement here uh i don't know if matt shore stays on the team because

00:40i think that's the position offensively they may look to upgrade even though he's really come on

00:44of late i think this is great for the cubs they can now use him as they may uh major trade piece

00:48if they so wish here but i think their main acquisition is going to be a pitcher you know

00:53uh and then we're a game two game three starter here once they go through the same names here

00:58gallon uh one of the miami guys on and on every time we talk about the same guys there but we know

01:03they have money greg right they wanted alex bregman and they're being outbid by boston so they have

01:07money to spend here should they want to and i as you said they're not in it every year uh they're

01:12leading i think they're still leaving division right now even though they had swamped last night

01:16uh by the white socks and menage oh what a killer that was uh but yeah i think they make a

01:21a major not a small addition i think they make a major addition by thursday all right uh was it

01:26that like 6 p.m eastern time yeah i think there's someone coming to chicago uh a name player here so

01:30i do expect them to uh truly add to this team

01:33detroit uh you know there's some look i i hate to go off some of the percolating rumors but there

01:41are a few that state that they're not going to do a ton that surprises me here if that's the case

01:46um you know kind of the orioles way the astros way a little bit uh actually that's not right the

01:52astros got uh verlander and cole they've made big deals um detroit or the glaber torres has done

01:59nothing to me it's more of a bigger question george is that do you believe that the offense

02:03that they're rolling out there can support scoobel in the playoffs because i mean if they lose

02:10two to one or three to one in a seven game series three or four times we're going to look back on this

02:14and say why didn't they just get somebody i'm not going to indict them yet i'm going to wait to see

02:18this play out i thought they would be the same as the cubs major addition coming right because once

02:25again they tried to get breakman as well which means they and they didn't spend that money so

02:28they have money to spend here and they're they're not a major market like the dodges or the yankees

02:33but they're not a small market either so this is a surprise if they don't add somebody because they

02:37could use help there uh we didn't think they'd be a good offense coming into the season have done

02:41much better than we expected but now we may be seeing that they are that team that we thought

02:45they were here good pitching not enough hitting they need to add somebody
