New Delhi: A post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user has gone viral after he shared his calm response to receiving the wrong food order. Shekhar Dutt, a teacher as per his bio, claimed he ordered a vegetarian soup but was delivered a non-vegetarian one via Zomato.
Instead of creating chaos, he filed a complaint on the app. Zomato promptly apologised and issued a full refund. Sharing a video of the soup, he wrote: "We ordered veg soup from a premium restaurant. We were delivered non-veg soup. No, we didn’t create any ruckus. We complained to Zomato and they issued a prompt apology and refund. Mistakes can happen anywhere. Let’s not make them larger than life."
While some appreciated his maturity, a majority of netizens criticised his soft stance, arguing that food preferences — especially vegetarian or religious-based — are serious matters and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
The post has sparked a debate online over how such food delivery errors should be handled.
