Opposition parties staged a protest outside Parliament on Thursday, raising concerns over the timing of the voter roll revision in Bihar. Leaders alleged that the process was rushed and did not allow sufficient time for citizens to verify or update their voter information ahead of the upcoming elections. They demanded greater transparency and a fair window for electoral corrections.

00:00Alright, pictures are from the parliament where opposition is in protest,
00:04questioning the timing of the Bihar electoral revision,
00:08also saying that enough time has not been given to the people just before the elections.
00:14That's what their opposition is.
00:17Pictures are of MPs essentially protesting and these are Rad Sabha as well as Lok Sabha MPs
00:23who are sitting on Adharnath as we speak.
00:27Protests at the Makar Dwar in parliament.
00:30I'm going to go straight across to Maasmi Singh for more details on that story.
00:35Maasmi, the opposition up in arms in spite of the government saying,
00:39listen, we aren't discussing this matter in parliament.
00:43This has got to do with the election commission and the APICS court.
00:48That's true, Neha.
00:50Seha, you know, there has been a strong strength by the opposition.
00:57Several top leaders of the opposition are joining the forest and this is the second consecutive day.
01:05In fact, the third one, when we've seen protests on SIR and up at the Makar Dwar and continue on the floor of the house as well.
01:15And today, Sonia Gandhi also joining the forest with other opposition leaders right there at the Makar Dwar,
01:23where there's been a lot of sloganeering and how, you know, Rahul Gandhi to Priyanka Gandhi saying
01:32that this is an attempt to steal votes, steal the election by the ruling government.
01:39They've done it in Maharashtra, they've done it in Haryana and we've even got it about the government.
01:45We have come back in a moment. Congress M.P. Karthi Chidambaram is speaking.
01:47Let's check in this.
01:48It will call into question the entire integrity of the election result when elections are held.
01:52Because in Bihar, if you notice, in the last election, there were about 50 odd constituencies
01:56where the margins were very small.
01:58If you tinker with the electoral role in these constituencies, the entire electoral result can be changed.
02:03But if the election commission's motives were above board,
02:07they could have started this exercise immediately after the parliament elections
02:10and they've given people adequate time to file appeals if they think they're being unfairly removed.
02:15So are you not going to buy the statement or the point of the ECI?
02:19See, the timing, the timing and the intention is suspect.
02:23The timing and the intention seems to be suspect.
02:26And this is an exercise which needs time.
02:28Even the Jantadal United, which is part of the NDA alliance,
02:32which is part of the, which is leading the government in Bihar,
02:35even members of parliament from their own, from the JDU,
02:38are questioning the integrity of this entire process.
02:40So obviously, if so many people are questioning the integrity of the process,
02:43something must be wrong in the process.
02:46I mean, everybody is, you can't be dismissed so lightly.
02:50How do you see the visit of the Prime Minister?
02:52Prime Minister to London, he's having a trade agreement.
02:57I mean, I am a proponent of free trade.
02:59If India signs a good free trade agreement with the United Kingdom, it will be welcome.
03:04Should there be a candidate for the VP post from the India bloc?
03:07Because yesterday, notification...
03:09I don't know. I'm available.
03:11It's a nice big house.
03:12I'm available to be vice president.
03:13You heard there from the Congress MP,
03:21well, we are telling you about the protests right now,
03:24which are underway in parliament.
03:25I'll try and go back to Moshmi for more details on that,
03:29on what is going to be possibly the way forward.
03:32Given that the opposition has erupted in protest,
03:35the issue was the electoral roll revision.
03:37The government has said,
03:38we've made this clear,
03:41this matter isn't going to be discussed in parliament,
03:43because the government has got nothing to add.
03:46It's a matter which is in the purview of the election commission.
03:50And the court is looking into it.
03:52The government or parliament has got nothing to do with this.
03:56Good morning, ma'am.
04:26And the government has left us with a propaganda spread out.
04:29We are making this clear,
04:31that our election will be done.
04:33We are saying that we are going to achieve a vote for the election commission.
04:37We are saying that we are going to be doing a vote for the election commission.
04:40The election commission will be saying that it is a document.
04:41This is a process of documentation.
04:42It is in any way that you are not getting a vote.
04:44What is the citizenship of citizenship?
04:47It is not going to be a vote.
04:49The Supreme Court has been saying it.
04:50The Supreme Court has been saying it.
04:56that they are saying that they are wrong and they have no advice.
05:01They are saying that they are saying that we are not going to fight before the fight.
05:08They are saying that they are saying that we are fighting before the fight.
05:15So they should think about the next step, and they are ready to fight.

05:47and speculation is that we want to talk about it, we want to talk about it and talk about it.
05:52In Bihar Vidhan Sabha, these people are not giving up.
05:56In Sunset Bhavan, they are not giving up.
05:59Now, let's give up, everything will be clear.
06:01What is this? I don't have a question.
06:04LGP Sarsad, Shambri Pichat, Chaudhary.
06:06Please, please.
06:08If you have a question, if you have a question, if you have a question, then you can't do anything.
06:15The first thing, SIR's video, is where are you?
06:18Is it really not?
06:19You have to complain about it.
06:21Every time, people say that they are saying that it is évion,
06:24they are saying that they are saying that they are saying that they are saying that they are saying that they are saying that they are saying that they are saying.
06:30When you have a question about it, it will be review.
06:36It will be review.
06:38It will be review.
06:40You will also say that.
06:41in the past.
06:43This is the fact that the government has been
06:50seen in the past and in the past.
