00:00Gentlemen, you had your instructions earlier. You know what I expect. A good, clean fight. Obey my commands and protect yourself at all times. Good luck.
00:15To make it big in the sport of boxing, you need rivals. Picasso is being named as a potential opponent for Naoya Inoue.
00:24Let's take on a Japanese fighter who not only is from that same country, but who has faced Luis Panteritaneri, the last man and the only man to drop, or the first man to drop, Naoya Inoue.
00:38And who also has another opponent in common with Picasso, and that's Azat Hobonisi. Small world, but in the end, A plus B doesn't equal C in boxing.
00:48Definitely not. And let's not forget, Kameda, he took a beating against Luis Neti in that last fight, which was actually, yeah, his last fight.
00:57So if Picasso is able to do that tonight, he will be making a statement.
01:03Look, Kameda is spicy and fun. You can see that by his colorful trunks. And how about the stare down during referee instructions?
01:10He's trying to get in the head of the young Picasso, the artist here. Did you see the ring gear that he walked in with, Abnerd? I don't know if you've got any of that in your closet, but he does.
01:21No, you do. I've seen you, Abnerd. He got all of that.
01:24Nice body shot there from Picasso, but then the answer from Kameda. Look, Picasso said, I know this is a warrior in front of me.
01:31And although there's only a one and a half inch in height and half inch in reach advantage, Kameda looks big.
01:38Yes. And he is aggressive. He is bringing the fight to Picasso, who's answering with big uppercuts.
01:45But those left hooks from Kameda are dangerous. And look, when you grow up in a family where your cousins are all world champions, you're going to learn how to fight.
01:53You know why? Because you're trained by their father. Not only that, he's promoted by Tomoki Kameda, the youngest of the three fighting Kameda brothers who are all world champions in their own day.
02:03Yeah, the Kameda dynasty, of course. Yeah, I mean, Kameda, Kameda, he's an aggressive game fighter. Again, you're seeing it in this first round. He's right there.
02:13He'll land the shots, good body shots that he's been landing. But again, I have not seen a single jab by either of these fighters in this first round.
02:19In this first round. There it is, Kameda trying one at least.
02:23Kameda saying, you think you can beat the monster? You've got to beat this guy first.
02:27Before you even think about going over to Japan and challenging the best fighter in Japanese history.
02:35And arguably the best fighter on this planet when you look at the top of those pound-for-pound rankings.
02:40But what about Usyk, though, today with a fourth round knockout of Daniel DuVoy in the rematch?
02:45Becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion once more.
02:47Oh, nice left uppercut there from Picasso in close, and Kameda with the answer, but good defense from the young Mexican fighter.
02:54Yeah, that was a more eye-catching punch from Picasso, the uppercut, but Kameda, he's been landing some right hands.
03:01Oh, this is a great test for Picasso on his rise right now, because Kameda, meeting him in the center of the ring, he's got speed, he's got explosiveness.
03:08He's got that attitude that just jumps off him. He's not afraid to get a point deducted, he wants to get in your head and intimidate you.
03:17Absolutely. That's a demeanor right there from Kameda.
03:21At 5'8", Picasso's a big fighter for this division, but he doesn't look that way against Kameda.
03:25You have to start off with your right.
03:26I'm good, I'm good.
03:27Hey, he's landing the right hand, so watch for that.
03:32Don't fall into his game, just keep working your game. I need you to set up the counter and come back with the uppercut.
03:41I need you to close your guard.
03:46You lost this round. You can't keep losing round, I need you to pick up the pace.
03:50keep working your game. I need you to set up your counter and come back with the upper
03:55cut. I need you to close your guard. You lost this round. You can't keep losing round.
04:13I need you to pick up the pace. Use your waist to keep the behind guard. I don't honestly think he lost that round, but it was a close one. It was a really close round, but I like the instructions where he said, hey, you don't fall into his game plan, and I have not seen yet a game plan from either fighter. They're fighting in the phone booth. Someone's got to take the initiative with the jab and set up the tone and open up the guards and the combinations because, again, they're both just in the center and throwing punches.
04:43But I think we all expected Picasso to be the artist in the ring, if you will, and he came straight to fight Kameda.
04:51Yeah, I think that's not the right game plan because he's getting hit by Kameda, especially with his right hands.
04:58There it is.
04:59Picasso, the 31 victories already in his career, just 24 years old, so we know that he's on the fast track for the big time.
05:06He does have to prove he can handle that aggression of Kameda.
05:10Oh, what a nice right hand from Picasso after Kameda had early success.
05:16And I like that Kameda's fighting short. He's fighting it short, and Picasso's missing a lot of shots because of that.
05:24This is a tall fighter, we speak of Kameda.
05:26Oh, that was a headbutt there. Nice body work from Kameda, and then an uppercut.
05:30Straight right hand from Picasso, tries to set up a left hook.
05:37High octane action early on, and that's what you can expect all night long here from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas
05:46as we progress over to our pay-per-view card later.
05:52Kameda continuing to show his game with those short counter right hands on the inside.
05:57Yeah, it's open for both fighters, the uppercut, the inside punches.
06:01Because again, they're head-to-head right in there.
06:04I think that's a big improvement from Kameda, is the inside game from what we've seen in previous fights.
06:09Yeah, against Luis Neri, he just had an aggressive softball, and Neri pushing him back, digging to the body.
06:21And right now, Picasso again, just there, letting Kameda get off sometimes first.
06:29You know, Picasso echoed what many fighters on this undercard told us this week,
06:33that he's honored to be setting the table for Manny Pacquiao.
06:36Now, he said even though he's a Mexican-born fighter, and Pacquiao's known as the Mexicutioner at times,
06:40he said he doesn't care. He loves the way Manny fights.
06:43He's very honored to be on this fight card tonight.
06:47He's been watching Manny Pacquiao since he was seven years old,
06:51same age as when our own Ryan Campbell started watching Manny Pacquiao.
06:56Just about right.
06:57Hey, Manny Pacquiao and I are the same age, but only one of us will be taking punches this evening.
07:03Oh, man.
07:06This combination right there from Kameda.
07:16That's another time from Picasso, but then he takes two left hooks from Kameda and another left hook.
07:22What a solid round from Kameda here, six minutes into this fight.
07:29Again, a close round this one.
07:31If you're letting him get off first, that's not the plan.
07:39Okay, nunca esperes eso, David.
07:41When he throws the left, throw the jab. Counter with it.
07:53Okay.
07:53We need to finish him by the sixth round.
08:01Right here, we're going to see the effective right hand from Picasso.
08:03Right here, when he goes in low, like I was mentioning, he tried to avoid that right hand,
08:08but he took it right in the chin.
08:10Kameda, right there.
08:11Beautiful right hand.
08:14But again, Kameda came back with his own left hook.
08:17Wish he could have finished to the body with that.
08:20Both fighters just one punch, one-two punches.
08:22Let's see a little bit more combinations.
08:34Let's see if we see a different style from David el Rey Picasso here in round number three.
08:44So far, he's fighting Kameda's fight, and his corner's not happy with that.
08:48Yeah.
08:51You're right.
08:52Coach is right.
08:54Picasso is just walking in forward, no jab.
08:58Staying right in front of Kameda.
09:00Kameda can get off at any given moment, like he did right there, and land those shots, and get away from trouble.
09:11Kameda looking very tricky tonight.
09:12Not an easy mark for Picasso to tee-off on, and when Picasso misses, Kameda makes him pay.
09:23Well, Kameda's got the hand speed.
09:25He's very comfortable fighting on the inside.
09:27Can see the explosiveness.
09:29He's going to test everything Picasso has this evening.
09:33Oh, yeah, so far.
09:34And Picasso told us this matchmaking is the proper setup for Inouye,
09:38because he wants to audition himself to the Japanese audience.
09:41He's heard their reaction when his name was mentioned as a potential Inouye opponent,
09:45and he wants to turn their opinion around here with a performance against Kameda.
09:49And I'm not sure he's doing that yet, though.
09:51But he's got seven-plus rounds to do it, and you just don't want a guy like Kameda to get momentum.
09:58They're going downhill.
10:00And it seems like he is.
10:01He's getting that momentum right now, getting comfortable.
10:03But he's not comfortable on the ropes right now, taking those body shots.
10:06And that's the punch that set this series of punches up.
10:11He culminates with a nice overhead right.
10:13Now you see another head clash there, but Picasso coming into his own thanks to that body work.
10:19Yeah, and also because Kameda stayed on the ropes for this period of time,
10:24you're not supposed to do that.
10:25You've got to get off.
10:26Get out of the ropes.
10:27Look at the uppercuts that Picasso's able to land now, and that body shot.
10:31You see the copy box numbers for body shots landed there.
10:43Picasso with the edge, but it has been very close as they continue to shoot it out in the center of the ring.
10:49That uppercut from Picasso is starting to find a home, and that's something that Kameda's going to have to contend with
10:55because Picasso's corner called that, and now he's seeing it and executing on it.
11:01Definitely is, and what I'm liking about that, too, is that every time he lands that uppercut, he finished to the body.
11:07And now he's blocking and paring more of Kameda's shots as well.
11:13But he's also lowered his output, Picasso, this round, and sometimes that flurry of activity can really sway the judges from Kameda's side.
11:21Yeah, but the effective pitches right now are being shown by Picasso.
11:25There's the head games.
11:26There's the taunting of Kameda.
11:27We knew we'd see more of it.
11:34That's a good round.
11:35Give me the end saw, please.
11:59And right now we're going to see a beautiful uppercut that Kameda landed.
12:04There were a few uppercut that he landed.
12:06Picasso landed his own as well.
12:08Right there, he came back with the right hand.
12:11Ooh, beautifully timed right there by Picasso.
12:14Great chin for Kameda.
12:16You've got the skills, you've got the ability, now go after him.
12:25Stay there, back up.
12:27I thought that was an excellent round from Picasso, just a change of pace.
12:31And it all started on the ropes.
12:34When Kameda decided to stay on the ropes, Picasso took advantage of the moment and he started landing those body shots and uppercuts.
12:40All right, Avner, you see your opponent start to do, like, that Cobra Kai stuff.
12:46Right, like, what does that do to you?
12:48You're talking about Kata?
12:49Yeah, something like that.
12:49That's telling me that he's worried.
12:51He's trying to find something out.
12:53He's trying to figure me out.
12:54He hasn't yet.
12:56That's what it means to me.
12:57So, if I'm the fighter, if I'm Picasso, I keep pressuring this guy.
13:02To be fair, neither guy has proven that they can fight going backwards in this fight.
13:08There hasn't been many backwards steps up to this point to prove that.
13:12And that left hook from Kameda.
13:15But they're both more comfortable on the front foot.
13:17Yes.
13:18Yeah, every time that Picasso's pressuring, he's got the initiative, he's doing effective punches,
13:22and vice versa, when Kameda's pressuring, because it does not look good going backwards.
13:27Well, look, it's two-fold.
13:29It's not just Picasso auditioning, in some cases, for an in-a-way fight.
13:33It's Kameda looking to get the biggest win of his career.
13:35And even though he didn't come through on his first-round knockout prediction from earlier this week,
13:41Kameda said, this is my moment to take, and I'm going to steal the show on Saturday
13:44and fight for the world title next.
13:46Look, Picasso's very effective with those uppercuts, but Kameda is really digging downstairs.
13:52They're fighting really similar, I'm sorry, but they're fighting really similar right now.
13:57And they're countering each other's abilities.
14:01Yes, yes, they are.
14:03They're waiting for the right moment they counter.
14:06If you wait too long, I'll go first.
14:08It's like they're taking turns.
14:11What about the 24-year-old 31-0-1 fighter from Mexico?
14:16His truck's looking like a NASCAR vehicle.
14:19A lot of spots, a lot of money there.
14:20Nice coming.
14:22He's that money, player.
14:30Nice fighter shot there from Picasso.
14:36But no adjustments so far from either fighter.
14:39They're both fighting good in the inside.
14:41They're clean punches, uppercuts.
14:42It's, again, really similar, but no one is making this like a clean, clear fight around Picasso.
14:50Picasso's trying with those uppercuts, though, especially this round.
14:53And you saw Kameda do those swinging with the arms, and then all of a sudden, boom, a quick uppercut from Picasso's this.
14:58You keep doing that.
14:59I love the poise of Picasso for such a young fighter.
15:06He's got that baby face.
15:07He said he's been accused of being a pretty boy who can't fight throughout his entire career.
15:11But he stood in there with that backbone and showed his skills.
15:14And he's doing that right now against a very game opponent.
15:17Nice left hook from Picasso, but then an overhand right from Kameda.
15:21The ebbs and flows of this particular fight makes it extremely fun.
15:30But the fun really begins when we move over to pay-per-view this evening because we will have an impressive rematch.
15:42That man, the six-foot-five-and-a-half towering Inferno, Sebastian Fundora, will take on Tim Zu.
15:50And this is a man who not only has earned the distinction of being called a world champion,
15:56but he has been accepted to Harvard's prestigious engineering program just this week.
16:01So a renaissance man, if you will.
16:03And the brother, as you see behind him, of Gabriela Fundora, the undisputed women's flyweight champion.
16:09Father Freddy Fundora has built a boxing factory there in Coachella, California.
16:14And we'll see him tonight try to gain a second victory over Tim Zu.
16:17Biggest adjustment that needs to be made in that fight, Abner, is what?
16:22For Fundora, no, you've got to do the same thing.
16:24I liked how he boxed in that fight.
16:25He showed everyone that he can box, and he has to keep doing that.
16:29And he needs to do that in this fight.
16:30That will be our co-main event once we move over to pay-per-view.
16:39And we hope you will do the same.
16:40Thank you for joining us here on the Amazon Prime portion of our broadcast.
16:53Picasso is starting to pick off the shots of Kameda.
16:55He's starting to see him a little bit better here in the fifth round.
16:58He's also cutting off the ring, Abner, a much better job this time around.
17:06Yeah, not letting Kameda off easy like he did in the last couple of rounds.
17:10As you pointed out, right now he has Kameda on the corner.
17:14But again, you've got to let those hands go, Picasso.
17:19He's an artiste, Abner.
17:21He takes his time.
17:22You do the hard part, which is cutting off the ring, put him on the ropes.
17:27There it is, a jab, a simple jab, which will start everything.
17:31And there it is.
17:32He's got the opportunity for an uppercut body shot.
17:34But he took a step back and it's restarted for Picasso.
17:39He's got the short right hand and the body shot from Picasso.
17:43Made it with a darting right counter.
17:46That's a nice right lead from Picasso.
17:48Now he's starting to bury his punches.
17:50He's got a really good one now.
17:52That's a good left hook, though, from Kameda off the ropes.
17:55But every time we say that, Kameda comes back with that right hand.
17:58It's mean.
18:00That liver shot from Kameda.
18:1124 against a 26-year-old, the younger, being Picasso.
18:15But that's a beautiful left hook on the inside of 45.
18:19And Kameda takes it well and answers.
18:21Back-to-back left hooks there from Picasso.
18:24Famous Golden Boy 45.
18:26Yeah, baby.
18:33Picasso's defense is underrated.
18:36He's blocking a lot of those punches with the gloves.
18:39And talking to him, you can tell very quickly he's a student of the game.
18:43He's studied the grades.
18:44He mentioned Oscar De La Hoya.
18:45He mentioned Manny Pacquiao.
18:47You can see how much he puts into his craft.
18:49And he's showing great poise here under fire inside the pocket.
18:52The young man is studying neuroscience at UNAL, which is the Mexican National University.
18:58So I'll get up at 4.30, go run, and I'll go seven hours of classes.
19:02I'll go to the gym or my trainers will come to the campus and will train.
19:05That's dedication.
19:06He definitely is studying this fighter and Kameda.
19:12And it seems like he kind of figured him out already.
19:14He had the vicious shots.
19:16Clean combination.
19:19We'll see if Picasso can put those brushes to work here as we get to the midway point of this fight.
19:29We'll see if he's in the middle of this fight.
19:59And this is how fluent right now and relaxed Picasso's feeling right now.
20:04Landing that vicious right hand, one after the other.
20:10Opening right there.
20:11And it's a short right hand.
20:14If he were to extend a little bit more torque on that, I think he will hurt Kameda.
20:21Kameda showing a good chin.
20:22Let's see who can make the adjustments here as we enter the second half of this fight.
20:33Bernardo Osuna ringside alongside three-division champion Abner Imarez and combat sports specialist Brian Campbell.
20:41A champion of life.
20:44I'll add it there, Bernardo.
20:47I'll take those.
20:50Look at who you're sitting with.
20:51Of course.
20:53Oh.
20:54Kameda.
20:55Ole!
20:58Abierto, derecha!
20:59Abierto, derecha!
21:00Corners telling Picasso he's open for the right hand.
21:05But not if you let him get off first.
21:07Yeah, yeah.
21:08Kameda definitely not making it easy for Picasso to land that right hand because he's landing
21:12that left hand perfectly pushing Picasso back.
21:16But the last three or four rounds, Picasso is controlling the real estate very well, forcing
21:20Kameda constantly to the ropes to the corner.
21:23Yeah, but not in this rumpy.
21:25Kameda's coming back with his O-punches,
21:27getting off first.
21:29That's all they take sometimes.
21:31He's got to get off first.
21:33Picasso making his shots count
21:35because Kameda's letting his hands go here
21:37in the sixth round.
21:41See the CompuBox.
21:43Three more power punches landed through five
21:45for Picasso,
21:47while Kameda is thrown eight more.
21:49Yeah, it's all about taking control
21:53of this fight. So far,
21:55the last two rounds, it seemed like Picasso
21:57was doing so
21:59and on the verge of the entire
22:01fight, but Kameda's still game.
22:03Oh, there's a nice
22:05one-two combination from Picasso
22:07splitting the guard of Kameda.
22:13That flicking
22:15jab from Picasso really can set the table
22:17for him to do damage.
22:19Toughness, as you can see,
22:21has been a calling card for Kameda's career.
22:23Remember, he was stopped in his
22:25pro debut on his feet.
22:27Rebounded, has continued to be a
22:29tough out for anyone in this division
22:31on his way up. Even giving Luis Neri
22:33a tough matchup last time out.
22:35Good point, Brian.
22:37Again, it's not easy coming off from that beating
22:39he took from Luis Neri, but like you said,
22:41he stood his crown, he had some good rounds
22:43in that fight as well, and here he is
22:45against Picasso.
22:47Neri's licking his chops too, because he would
22:49love a shot at the young Picasso.
22:51I'm sure he will.
22:53Yeah, but look, because let's not forget,
22:55Picasso, he's a big name in Mexico right now.
22:57A lot of people talking hiya.
22:59They got personal beef
23:01going on as well, so
23:03the storylines write themselves for
23:05potential Picasso-Neri fight,
23:07but Picasso does have a bigger
23:09opportunity on the horizon if he can
23:11get through this fight, which is
23:13no given at this point.
23:15I like the body work that Picasso's
23:17doing in this round.
23:19More stationary commander now because
23:21of it.
23:23Yes.
23:25Time.
23:27Time.
23:29Time.
23:31Time.
23:33Time.
23:35But you want it.
23:37It's a pretty even fight.
23:41But we need to press the action.
23:45He's done.
23:47He's just walking around.
23:49Just repeat the punches.
23:51Repeat with the left
23:53downstairs.
23:55I need you to be consistent.
23:57Okay.
23:58Todo bien.
23:59Todo bien.
24:00Vamos, David.
24:01No puedes fallar.
24:02Échale, David.
24:03Es tu boleto.
24:04Es tu boleto.
24:05Es el cambio de tu pies.
24:06Vamos por el 7.
24:07Vamos.
24:08We're going to step in front.
24:09Pick up the action.
24:10Ya cada que tira está abierto.
24:11He's ready to go.
24:12Es que te parece que estás muy cansado.
24:13Trata.
24:14Trata de respirar, hijo.
24:15Ven.
24:16Vamos.
24:17Vamos.
24:18Vamos.
24:19Vamos.
24:20Cámbale.
24:21Cámbale la estrategia.
24:22Cámbale la práctica.
24:24No.
24:25No.
24:26No.
24:27No.
24:29No.
24:30We see the odds for tonight's main event.
24:32Mario Vargas continues to be the favorite
24:34coming into this fight.
24:36Sentimentally, though, a lot of people pulling for Pac-Man,
24:40the Matty Pacquiao Show, to make history once again.
24:45It's getting closer because there was a point where it was
24:47at plus 310, I think.
24:49Yep.
24:50So Matty Pacquiao, a lot of Pacquiao believers.
24:53All those people with their hearts, betting with their hearts.
24:57Picasso digging in with that right uppercut, but he left himself open for a counter.
25:01And you see Camero says, you want to sit on your punches?
25:04There's going to be something coming back.
25:05But this is a great opening of the round for Picasso.
25:09Yeah, Picasso getting his chin checked here.
25:12He showed better head movement last round.
25:14This time he's willing to stand and train with Camero.
25:17Great shots there from Picasso.
25:19So great body shots, great combinations landing by him.
25:24But again, Camero came strong, standing in his ground and landing that right hand.
25:29He lands it here and there, but it's effective.
25:33Camero's a lot of fun to watch.
25:35Yes, he is.
25:37And he's got that bad boy image that is very warranted.
25:39In a 2021 loss to Hiroki Hanabusa, Camero was docked a point for shoving,
25:44which took the fight, which would have been a draw.
25:46It took it to a loss.
25:47He yelled at the referee afterwards, was suspended by the Japanese commission.
25:51He also kicked the seat of an audience member on his way back to the locker room.
25:55Everything you're not allowed to do in Japanese culture, he did in one night.
26:00Oh, you're a bad man.
26:02And he is.
26:03He's proving that tonight.
26:05Not an easy task for Picasso.
26:07Nice body shot from Camero with a right.
26:10Picasso tries to get it back.
26:11And Camero says, come walk through this fire.
26:13Oh, that's a quick flurry from Picasso.
26:23Every shot landed.
26:24Everyone had bad intentions.
26:26And then that lead right hand.
26:29And you can sense right now that Camero's getting tired.
26:32He's opening up the guard a lot more.
26:34And those shots are landing a lot cleaner and crispier for Picasso.
26:38If Picasso listened to his corner and he did repeat those punches,
26:41I think his consistency would really take him to the next level.
26:45You see his efficiency here, landing six more punches while throwing the exact amount.
26:49That left hook downstairs was effective again for Picasso.
26:52Yeah, let's not forget when Camero got knocked down against Luis Neri, it was a body shot as well.
26:59And then the ending, obviously, Neri went for the kill.
27:04But it all started with the body shot.
27:07Ooh, nice left hook there to start that combination off from Picasso.
27:12This is very good give and take this round.
27:15Oh, but it's mostly Picasso.
27:18Definitely painting a Picasso right now in this round.
27:20He uses legs very well there to get out of harm's way.
27:27Do the opposite.
27:30Would you like that?
27:31Let me of hope.
27:34I'm going to see you.
27:37No, I'm going to see you better.
27:39Let's see you better.
27:41Fucking.
27:42They've seen much better.
27:43My team's last!
27:45I'm not a sport.
27:47I'm not a sport.
27:50I got more than that.
27:51Hey, let's go.
27:53Now you're done!
27:56Put it straight, put it firm, put it strong.
27:58It's like you're holding the guard.
28:00Put it safe, man.
28:26It needs to be lowering.
28:28So if I'm Picasso, I press even more in this round.
28:31And you go to the body, right?
28:32Yeah, you dig to the body and try to finish this as much as you can by putting that pressure and throwing more shots.
28:39I think these are great learning rounds for Picasso.
28:43Yeah, no question about it, because when you step up to the big time against the Undisputed Champion in Inouye,
28:49you're going to need every aspect of your game in order to not just survive but have that potential to thrive.
28:54We've seen some power punchers giving away some brief challenges, but you need to be that complete fighter.
29:01You have to be able to go into your bag, as they say.
29:05Because what I love about Inouye is the fact that not only is he skilled, not only is he powerful, but he is a fighter who loves to put on a show.
29:13No doubt.
29:14And that's where the opportunity might come for a guy like Picasso.
29:17When he gets vulnerable and he tries to put on a show, that's where you strike.
29:21Exactly.
29:23Abner, do you feel like Picasso has the punching power to potentially get a stoppage in this fight?
29:27We do know Kameda's consistent reputation of being durable.
29:31Well, he's got decent power. I mean, he's got 31 fights, only 17 knockouts, so the power is decent.
29:37Not a one punch that will knock you down, knock you out, but it's constant pressure that he's putting right now.
29:44And he can't finish anyone and break you down. And that's what he's doing right now against Kameda.
29:50Kameda definitely not giving in, not making it easy for Picasso.
29:54Using his legs here. That makes Picasso work, yeah.
30:01Now when you see a guy switch southpaw without effectiveness, to me that's a sign that he's looking for answers.
30:08Yeah, he's just trying to avoid punches. He's not doing that.
30:12But right now he's down, he's on the ropes. He's on the corner right now again.
30:16He's tiring it out right now, Kameda. He doesn't have anything left.
30:20Right now he's on survival mode.
30:22McCoy's here, impatient from Picasso.
30:26And that's hooked to start a combination for Picasso.
30:31Can he put the finishing touches and say, look, Luis Neti stopped him at seven, all right?
30:36If I get him out of here at eight, not bad.
30:39Yeah, it's time to step on the gas if you're Picasso.
30:44You definitely got this guy already where you want him. You broke him down.
30:49Pedal to the metal.
30:51But the one thing that's been lacking is the work downstairs.
30:55Set up those shots.
30:57Because if not, Kameda's gonna still have enough strength to go to your head and connect like he just did there.
31:03Yeah, you leave an opening, Kameda will fill the dead air with big time punches.
31:12Good defense from Picasso.
31:13And then, the answer. That's how you make a guy miss and you make him pay.
31:17Such a short puncher as Picasso.
31:23Short, compact punches from Picasso.
31:27That uppercut is vengeance.
31:30But you know what? For now, Kameda's had the anti-men.
31:34Let's listen in.
31:35You're losing, but it's hard.
31:36We're losing a lot, David.
31:37Okay?
31:41No, we're losing.
31:42We have to lose.
31:43We've lost.
31:44Okay?
31:45No.
31:46No wait, you didn't expect much.
31:47Two times he got to get out of here.
31:48Okay?
31:49Okay.
31:50There is the man who makes his appearances sporadically, but he makes them count, Gary
32:16Russell Jr. Last fight was January 2022. He lost to Mark McSayo and he's coming in here for the first time without his father in his corner after passing away. And so he'll be coming right up after this 10-rounder concludes. Now he'll be fighting here at lightning.
32:37So respect on that name. It's Mr. Gary Russell Jr. to you, Bernardo.
32:42It is. He's earned it.
32:44Yeah, he has.
32:47Yeah, that fight against McSayo, he fought with one hand and I thought he won that fight. It was a close fight.
32:54He couldn't throw a jab in that entire second half of that fight.
32:57He says, my left is never going to be the same because of the torn ligament in the shoulder or tendon in the shoulder, but he says, I've got enough to beat this guy.
33:08And the guy he is referring to is Hugo El Tigre Castaneda.
33:13It's go time for David Picasso and also for Kiyonosuke Kameda. He comes from championship lineage. His three cousins are world titles, Koki, Taiki, and Tomoki Kameda, trained by their father, his uncle Shiro Kameda. There's honor in the ring and he's included himself well today.
33:30He's talking about a hundred. Look at this round, ninth round Kameda doing his damage. He's landing some good shots in this round. But again, it's Picasso's waiting too much. He's right in the center. Look, he's not doing enough. He's not doing anything. He's giving Kameda the initiative. That's what he's doing. He's taking it. He sees it. He takes it.
33:45You've got the guts and the gas tank that Kameda has. You're going to be troubled the entire night.
33:51You're going to say one thing about the Japanese fighters is they're going to come in and give you an honest night's work. And if you make a mistake, they can't make you pay. And they're not going to go away unless you make them at all.
34:05They've got the heart of a lion. That pride that keeps them up when you think you've got them. There's something special. Right now, there's something in the water over there in Japan with the amount of champions they've got, the amount of up and coming from them.
34:23A great crop. From a new age, Jujo Nakatani, the Benoist champion. Yes. See, one thing that I believe right now that Picasso's missing is that killer angst thing. You know, that willingness to go out there and just get him out. I think he can if, again, he worked to pressure.
34:39That pride that keeps them up when you think you've got them. There's something special. Right now, there's something in the water over there in Japan with the amount of champions they've got, the amount of up and coming fighters. A great crop.
34:45And look, maybe it's the fact that Picasso just doesn't have the gas to go these last two rounds and Camada does. And Camada says,
34:49what's the most important thing that Picasso's missing is that killer angst thing. You know, that willingness to go out there and just get him out. I think he can if, again, he worked to pressure, let his hands go, put him on the back foot, put him against the ropes, land the body shot.
34:58Because Camada, he was on the decline. But now you're giving him time to breathe, giving him time to come back. And that's what he's doing. He's taking advantage of this round.
35:07And look, maybe it's the fact that Picasso just doesn't have the gas to go these last two rounds and Camada does.
35:14And Camada says, OK, I'm seeing that you're leaking a little bit, but I'm still strong. It's a great round for Camada. Don't give it away.
35:27Trying to close the round. This one, Picasso.
35:31There is more.
35:32There is more.
35:33...
35:33Do you like it?
35:34There is more.
35:35You're pushing.
35:36You're a offense to all.
35:38Down is coming.
35:39The other one.
35:40Go on, you пор.
35:41Exactly.
35:42You'll pull down.
35:43No completely.
35:44Do not kill you?
35:46You'll be focused.
35:46Last round.
35:47All three, questions.
35:48Let's check in this three.
35:50I believe it.
35:51I don't know.
35:52That was ague, yes.
35:54Last round.
35:55Touch him up.
35:56We need to win this round.
35:59You need to come out there with everything.
36:01You cannot wait.
36:02You can't be second.
36:04Come on, David.
36:06This is a close fight.
36:07It could be a draw.
36:09We have to win this round no matter what.
36:14You have to go out with everything.
36:18It's open up and down.
36:20It's open up and down.
36:22Yeah.
36:31We do have Larry Hazard, our unofficial scorer.
36:3687-84.
36:39Interesting urgency in the corner of Picasso.
36:42It is.
36:43But Abner, they gave him instructions to do things,
36:46but they didn't tell him how to do it.
36:48Yeah, yeah.
36:49I mean, these are things that they practice at the gym,
36:51so maybe he knows already what they're talking about
36:54and how to, you know, go about them and how to do them.
36:57But again, Picasso, he needs to press more.
37:00He needs to finish this round.
37:02I like how he started.
37:04Throwing a lot of punches.
37:05But he's letting Kameda get off.
37:08Tough fighter tonight in Kameda.
37:11Kameda's bodywork already looks, excuse me,
37:13but already looking like he's ready to empty the tank here
37:15in the final round.
37:17And that's the question.
37:19I'm willing to do it.
37:20Picasso, are you willing to meet me there?
37:22Yes.
37:23And this is really a telling round
37:25because his corner demanded that he go do it.
37:28Let's see what this kid has in terms of heart and determination.
37:32These are the last round.
37:34This is the round where you show really what you're made of,
37:37what you got.
37:38Yes, you're tired, but you're trying to prove to the road
37:41to yourself that you've got it,
37:42that you won anyway after this fight.
37:44Show me you won him.
37:45Show me that you can beat him.
37:46I think you're asking Picasso to sign the painting at the end, right?
37:49Put that exclamation point on it.
38:01You wonder if Picasso has just enough gas to really make sure
38:05nothing dramatic happens in this round.
38:07Well, Brian, sometimes it's not so much the gas.
38:11Yes, the conditioning is everything, but the heart.
38:14There's been fights where I've been, and I'm super tired,
38:16but my heart tells me, go out there, finish him, go out there,
38:19leave it all in the ring.
38:20And I want to see that from Picasso.
38:22Most round again.
38:36There has been some close rounds in this fight,
38:39so I can see why the scorecard like that,
38:41but Picasso, you got inside punches.
38:45Yeah, I got three rounds that could have gone either way,
38:47if not more, so.
38:49Yes.
38:50That's why the concern from the father in the corner of David Picasso,
38:57Alfonso saying, you cannot afford to give this round away,
39:00and this is not the response that we anticipated from Picasso.
39:03No.
39:04No, he has not met the pressure of Kameda Hedan.
39:11Even the moments where you're supposed to prove your mettle,
39:14and he has 10 seconds left to do it here in the final round,
39:19and you've got to give credit to Kameda because he says,
39:23you want to step to me, you're going to feel the pain.
39:26A crucial round that may have been given away here in the 10th,
39:31and Kiyonosuke Kameda gives David Picasso all he can handle here
39:36at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
39:38Tonight's pay-per-view will feature a great fighter from Mexico.
39:43His name is Isaac Pitbull Cruz.
39:46Our Hall of Fame reporter Jim Gray caught up with him backstage.
39:50Pitbull, you were all set to fight Fierro if he pulls out.
39:53What do you know about Salcido and how difficult of an adjustment is it
39:57to fight a guy on 24 hours' notice that you don't know?
40:00You just know that you're going to fight with Salcido
40:04after he just released Fierro's function.
40:07In a 24 hours time, what do you think about your new opponent?
40:12We found out about Fierro in the last minute.
40:26We were watching videos about Salcido's style.
40:30It should be no problem. We prepared for anything.
40:32He came up forward to win this fight.
40:34Are you disappointed because you wanted the rematch?
40:36No, not at all, because we're professionals.
40:49We're focused on the fight, and that's why we're here to fight,
40:52because we prepare ourselves for this, for any kind of fight.
40:54Javier, thank you. Pitbull, thank you.
40:56We'll talk to you after the fight.
40:58Pitbull Cruz is the epitome of fighter.
41:00Says, I don't care who you put in front of me.
41:02I am going to be me in the ring.
41:05Miguel Flores has the official decision for Picasso Camara.
41:09Ladies and gentlemen, after 10 rounds of action,
41:12we go to the judges' scorecards.
41:15Judge Lisa Giampa sees the contest 95 to 95 a draw.
41:23However, she is overruled as Judge Chris McGlory sees it 97 to 93,
41:29and Judge Eric Cheek sees it 98 to 92.
41:34Both judges in agreement.
41:36For your winner, by majority decision, David El Rey Picasso!
41:5094 is a likely scorecard, maybe a little wide, but at the end of the day,
41:54David Picasso passes a test, but he didn't get an A today,
41:58and he may not be ready for Inoue.
42:00You know who is ready?
42:01Who is ready?
42:02Who is ready?
