00:00In case you are wondering, that name is Australian Greek, until immediately.
00:10You know what else I'm wondering?
00:14Why come into that now?
00:16Second.
00:17Oh, because he is the hometown boy.
00:19It shouldn't matter, the champion should be called last.
00:23He did it for Jerry Cooney, unfortunately.
00:25It has happened in the past.
00:27Here are your judges, Philippines, Canada, Australia.
00:35We'll see if they will be necessary as we start round number one.
00:41Angelo Leo, Tomoki Kameda, first defense for Angelo Leo.
00:46Kameda has a one-and-a-half-inch height advantage, which is pretty obvious,
00:50but Leo has a one-and-a-half-inch reach advantage.
00:53That's coming to play with the jabs, right?
00:57You said it in the beginning, Chris.
00:59The jab and the right hand have been the money punches for him.
01:02Yes, he won by the left hook last time out.
01:05Those straight punches have been key.
01:07Yeah.
01:07That piston jab.
01:08Those are his best weapons.
01:10His finisher is his left hook.
01:12But he sets the table with the jabs in the right hands.
01:27Well, of course, in the blue and white, Kameda in the Tricolores,
01:30the red, white, and green.
01:33And Jicanito, his nickname, taking on the Mexican-American.
01:36Tactical feel that around here, opening things up.
01:42No surprise, both these fighters know what it's like to be a world champion.
01:47Big swinging left hook to the body there, attempted by Leo, full short.
01:53Kameda does have that long torso.
01:55Targeting the body is a good idea.
01:57Nice, stiff jab down the middle.
01:58Splits the guard from Leo.
02:06The last time we saw him in the ring, August of last year.
02:15Ben Serrato Danimini.
02:18That was in Japan as well.
02:20Won that by split decision.
02:22Yeah, that was a revenge fight he had lost in the prior meeting.
02:26Split decision first time around.
02:28Won a split second time.
02:29Both very close fights.
02:31Both fighters working real hard to establish the jab in round one.
02:38Yeah, yeah.
02:39You know, we were talking about early on that, you know,
02:42it's a good idea for Leo to establish that jab.
02:44But, you know, with the long torso and height of Kameda, you know,
02:49Kameda could also do well to establish that jab.
02:54Both guys showed really good reactions.
02:55Yeah, more tactical fight than the first one we had, you know, for sure.
02:59Guys are already changing looks, changing heights.
03:01Like I said, this is a feel-out round.
03:03Try to see what kind of reactions they get from the opponents so far.
03:06And they may have sparred, but that was years ago.
03:09In a co-main event, those two fighters had fought last time out July of last year,
03:14so they knew each other very, very well.
03:15And even when you've sparred, the speed of things is different with eight-ounce gloves, you know.
03:20It's like the thing that you got to still have to get that adjustment with the speed,
03:25with the speed changes when the small gloves are on.
03:29And it hurts more, too, of course.
03:31The biggest factor.
03:33No head goal, more sting on those punches.
03:43I mean, it was a little flicking jab.
03:45How to speed behind him, look quick.
03:46Yeah.
03:47Both guys look very quick, very reactive.
03:50Good snappy shots, both of them very dialed in.
03:53Looking like the world-class fighters that they are.
03:59Kameida, no problem taking the center.
04:00Angelo Leo content to play the outside.
04:04Yeah, and that's one of the things.
04:05You take the money to go to foreign land, you know,
04:08you got to expect those kind of rounds to probably go to the hometown.
04:10Yeah.
04:14Kameida taking the center of the ring.
04:17Giving the...establishing the jab and then doubling and tripling it up.
04:23I like Kameida's hair is kind of colored.
04:26Yeah, he's got his, uh...
04:27Still a little wild, man.
04:28He's got a little frosted...frosted...frosted tits.
04:29A little bit.
04:30Angelo Leo 25 and 1.
04:44Last time out we saw him was winning this title at 126 pounds.
04:48Good Spanato Lopez.
04:50That also August of last year.
04:52Both guys have had the equal time off since their last fight.
04:55Yeah, Leo came out with a lead left hook to the body.
04:58Landed it nice, too.
04:59And landed it.
05:00Which is interesting.
05:01This early to go for a shot like that.
05:04Yeah, he went for it in the first round.
05:05He came up short with it.
05:06So, I think the...the part of the game plan for Team Leo might be to get to that body and
05:10that long torso.
05:12It's just a matter of is he going to be able to close the gap enough, close range enough,
05:15on a consistent enough basis to get there consistently.
05:18I think that's always a tactical move by Team Leo.
05:22They're good body punchers.
05:23They're consistent with the body work with both hands, actually.
05:26But also, you got a guy like Kameda who fights tall and has a long torso with shorter arms.
05:31Yeah, and he's using his jab to hold range in his Kameda.
05:34Yeah, I'm...he's fighting a very disciplined fight.
05:36He's...I mean, he's going to open up at some point because that's...
05:39That's who he is.
05:40That's what butters his bread.
05:42But so far, extremely tactical, very, very smart and strategic.
05:46There comes Leo, attacking the body.
05:50Even those shots you block on the elbows, those elbows bang into you.
05:52You feel those body shots.
05:53Leo went for the big one there.
05:55Yeah.
06:05I like the changeup from Leo.
06:07He's coming out.
06:07He's using his jab.
06:08Very, very tactical, but he'll still throw one.
06:11Yes.
06:11Throw one mean nasty one in the mix.
06:13Yeah, yeah, and...
06:14Oof.
06:14So, we'll Kameda.
06:15He whips in the left hook to the body, left hook to the head.
06:18He hasn't landed anything crazy, but he...
06:20Just the fact that you show them already has to keep your opponent honest as well.
06:23Right.
06:24Good head moving from Leo off the left hook from Kameda.
06:27Ducked it twice.
06:30One of those big shots can change the course of a fight.
06:33Can change the course of a round.
06:34Can change the course of a fight.
06:36Can end a fight.
06:37Both guys are throwing some big shots.
06:39I wonder when Kameda would start committing to his punches, to his punches.
06:42Looks like round two.
06:43Starting to throw in some bigger shots.
06:45Oh, another good body shot from Leo.
06:46And Leo's been opening up more with the left hook this round.
06:49There it is again.
06:50Back comes Kameda with the double left hook body and head.
06:53Landed a good one upstairs.
06:54You did say buttered his bread champ, so I think one good hook deserves another.
06:58We may start seeing these left hooks start whipping in there from both these guys.
07:02We asked Robert Garcia last week, we said don't hook with the hooker,
07:05but who is the hooker in this fight?
07:06He goes, nah.
07:08Depends on who you ask.
07:09It depends on what style.
07:11I think Leo is winning the battle of the jab right now.
07:15Yeah, this round he's supposed to be more.
07:17And I believe that it's all a matter of time before we see Kameda doing more of that.
07:22He's letting his combinations go and throwing a lot of left hands.
07:25Kind of bowling it through the front door and that can be dangerous.
07:28That was a nice little tricky shot there.
07:30Leo throws a looping right hand, comes up with a short left uppercut
07:33that splits the guard, catches Kameda up the middle.
07:35Ooh, big right hand.
07:36Clash of heads.
07:37Clash of heads.
07:43Boxing's billion dollar man, Justin Faldo, is back in action on Pro Box TV.
07:49When he takes the battle-tested Mexican, Juan Carlos Murdo, CSR, Saturday, June 7th.
08:05A little bit of a clash ahead at the end of the round.
08:07This was early.
08:07That was early in the round.
08:09That was that tricky little shot.
08:10He threw a kind of a throwaway right hand.
08:13That was kind of on purpose.
08:14Yeah.
08:15A little headbutt there.
08:16That was a, oh, you catch you a little tricky uppercut.
08:20Here's a tricky headbutt.
08:22But they didn't actually get the replay of that last sequence
08:25where they banged heads and Leo actually closed his eye.
08:27I wonder, it looked like a big right hand.
08:29And that was after Kameda right hand too.
08:31Did he land the right hand or is it just the head?
08:33I think I land on the side.
08:39They don't want to show us that.
08:40I'm not over there.
08:41When both guys are throwing explosive out of nowhere shots like that, head clashes become
08:48Yeah.
08:49But they both explode in at the same time.
08:52We start round number three.
08:54Nice jab from Kameda to start.
08:56Angel Reo so far doing a good job.
08:59As you said, establishing that lead jab.
09:02Throwing enough hooks to keep Kameda honest.
09:04Kameda though in round number two starting to open up with combinations.
09:14Both men.
09:14Very sharp.
09:15Yeah, both guys trying to get each other out of position.
09:17Fainting, changing levels.
09:19You see Kameda with that tall body obviously changes levels a lot.
09:22One of his tricky moves.
09:23I tell you, Leo trying that little left hand up with that again.
09:26Yeah, because look at Kameda's head.
09:28He fights over that front foot.
09:29He is a left hooker, so he fights very much, leading on that heavy front foot.
09:34He's going to be there for the uppercuts, even being the taller man.
09:38And that's also what possibly causes those clashes of heads too, Kameda.
09:41Absolutely.
09:42Taller man bending over.
09:45I don't know if Barney Forest is going to get a lot of clashes of heads.
09:48It's very, very tall for the weight.
09:53There it is again.
09:54Likes that sneaky lead uppercut.
09:56It's a throwaway right hand lead uppercut.
09:58You can sort of see what Leo worked on in camp, right?
10:00I mean, the body shots because he sort of sometimes gets too excited and throws him from too far away.
10:05And also this lead left uppercut, we just try to find.
10:08Another one.
10:10Yeah, this fight.
10:11This fight might not go too well because it is.
10:13It's clashes of heads, guys.
10:14No cuts yet, thankfully.
10:19Yeah, both guys are very willing to engage and they're explosive in their initial movements.
10:22Well, can the clashes of heads start to create apprehension on one of them or both ends?
10:28Well, he who hesitates is lost.
10:32That's funny, but in this fight, it's definitely a truism.
10:35If I'm in the corner of either man, because you see the writing on the wall of these headbutts,
10:39get out to an early lead.
10:40If we get a technical decision, you want to make sure you're ready.
10:43A whole body shot by the way.
10:44A body shot.
10:45And a jab.
10:48Remember, champ, you said the judges like guys come forward in Japan.
10:51It's between Kameda coming forward.
10:56Hopefully, they're paying attention because Leo is landing the better shots.
11:02Long way from Florida, champ.
11:03Yeah.
11:04Very, very composed Kameda tonight.
11:17I'm impressed.
11:18I'm used to seeing him be a lot more aggressive.
11:22Yeah, and Leo, very tactical so far, you know, taking his shots.
11:26Tony, that shot selection is coming into play very well here for Leo.
11:30Going to the body, going to the head.
11:31Using that jab and, of course, the uppercut there as well.
11:36Kameda, though, looking to throw hard shots, guys.
11:38Ooh, nice combination to punctuate the round.
11:42That was good because Kameda actually landed a good left hook.
11:45Leo, who's throwing that lead uppercut, that's a dangerous punch against a guy with a good left hook.
11:49You're there to clip with that shot, and he did there.
11:54But he came back with a nice finish to the round.
11:57Ah, splits the guard there.
12:01That was, I saw that early on.
12:03I was wondering if that landed.
12:04Great job by the truck catching that replay.
12:07I like the heavy shots landed by Leo that round.
12:10Yeah, body shot.
12:12If you go by body language and the position of the ring, you know, you might be looking at Kameda.
12:16But if you're paying attention, that was the Leo.
12:18Snap.
12:19Your sharper punches are coming from the usual Leo.
12:21Heavier as well.
12:22And he's getting more creative, too, with his selection of punches.
12:42Maybe in round number four, scheduled for 12.
12:45Looks like the battle lines have been set.
12:50Paula, we talk about it all the time.
12:51The first four rounds, you see what the game plan is of each fight.
12:54Right, yeah.
12:55You don't know if it's going to go all the way to 12 rounds.
12:57But you see what both fighters worked on.
12:59Angelo Leo doing great work with that lead hand.
13:01Yeah, and Kameda, you can see also wanting to establish his jab.
13:05But it's been Leo starting to sort of take over with the left hand.
13:08He's got a more educated left hand in that he can do more things with it.
13:11It's more versatile.
13:12Kameda, his left hand, not bad.
13:14I like how he doubles and triples up with the jab and those zone hooks.
13:17But Leo has a nice, distinguished, educated left hand.
13:21And truly, he disguises all the punches with it.
13:23He's got a very varied offense in general, though.
13:25He punches well with both hands and mixes up his shots.
13:28You can see a variety in his punch selection.
13:32Good fade there.
13:35Kameda doing a great job holding position,
13:37just like you said, Champ, when he was warming up.
13:39He's controlled the center of the ring for the majority of the fight.
13:41Very composed.
13:45But he's starting to not be first consistently.
13:47And even if you control center ring, if you're not first, you're last to court, uh, you know,
13:53Ricky Bobby's father in, uh, Talladega Nights.
13:57You gotta be first, you're last.
13:58You gotta eventually start getting shots off.
14:04Leo being more consistently first.
14:05Especially with that educated left hand.
14:08Leo needs to stay busy with that lead hand because Kameda keeps coming into his head just like that.
14:13You got a guy who's coming forward with his head, put that jab on it.
14:16And you see there, he comes in with his head first and then he looks to put you out of position.
14:19He uses the head to try to put you out of position.
14:21It's a veteran tactic.
14:22It's a little bit on the dirty side, actually.
14:24But you see what Kameda does.
14:25He actually flies in with his head, so you lose position.
14:28And then throws left up.
14:29And then he'll try to throw a punch off that busted position that he caused you.
14:36Kameda's also throwing less and less punches.
14:42And Chris, from the beginning, Angel Laird did a good job of splitting the guard with that lead jab.
14:47Yeah, he's being precise.
14:48He's putting his punches in the right place.
14:49Even when, ooh, good body shot at the end of that right hand.
14:55Good right hook there from Kameda.
14:57Kameda's still lively.
14:59Yeah.
15:00He wins those shots.
15:01Good right hand.
15:02Good right hand again.
15:03That right hand has found Leo here at times in this fight.
15:06It's a weapon that Kameda could probably use more of.
15:09Probably should throw a little bit more right hand to look to set it up more.
15:12Especially in this fight when he's using the hand so well, it does make you vulnerable to the right.
15:17Yeah.
15:17Yeah, exactly.
15:18And that's the thing.
15:19It would also maybe force Leo to keep his left hand home more.
15:22It's a tricky shot, that right hand, the way that he loops it around the glove.
15:26Yeah, and it's long and dreamy.
15:33You can tell Kameda looks for speed with straight punches and power with his hooks with both hands.
15:38There it is again, using his head to move Leo back and then try to throw.
15:43That green stuff from both fighters in different ways.
15:45You said, Paulie, a little dirty.
15:47I mean, a little bit.
15:49I think it's a lot dirty, but you know, he disguised it to make it look a little dirty.
15:53Well, he's moving forward with his whole body.
15:55That was a nice three-punch combination there by Leo and an evasion.
16:07There's that right chopping hook.
16:09Every time they're in close, you're just like, ah, you think your headbutt's going to happen any second.
16:13Especially when you see these replays, you see how close they come to these headbutts.
16:15Yeah, that's been the most effective shot, where Kameda comes in square, steps in, and then...
16:24Yeah, you know how you use, like, a throwaway punch to throw...
16:28Kameda uses a throwaway headbutt.
16:30If it lands, it lands.
16:30If it doesn't, at least he puts you out of position.
16:32Because usually the throwaway punch is used to put you out of position.
16:35But Kameda uses his head to put you out of position, and then he throws whatever he wants to look in the land.
16:39Which is why I was saying, Leo needs to get busy with that lead hand, get that jab.
16:44Nice and short, mid-range jab.
16:46One thing if you were wondering about, beginning round number five, Chris, is if you thought Kameda was shot, that has not been the case.
16:52It looks very good.
16:53Very sharp. It looks very, very sharp, and his reactions are good.
16:56That's usually the thing that goes first, is someone's reactions. Certainly not shot.
17:04You know, and Leo's only two years younger than Kameda.
17:09Ooh, nice shot.
17:11But Kameda came on and landed some good shot.
17:13That's the combination that knocked out Planilla.
17:15Yeah, that left hook.
17:16Set up by that little short uppercut inside.
17:20Leo just came with his own right hook.
17:22That landed pretty well and got Kameda out of position.
17:24Kameda said it was behind the head, didn't look it to me.
17:30You see how relaxed they are right in front of each other.
17:32I see it when you're at this distance.
17:34You got to be really sharp, really focused to fight at this distance.
17:36Both guys trying to hold this position when I set the other guy up.
17:40Look how close they are.
17:41Good counter jab there.
17:43Nice jab.
17:43Nice jab.
17:44Stiff shot there from an overextended Leo.
17:51Yeah, Leo was at the wrong distance, tried to pop a right hand.
17:56Again, back at this distance.
17:57Look, you got to be real comfortable and stay calm at this distance.
18:00You got pushed though.
18:04He's like, you know what?
18:04I can pick you up too.
18:05I can make this physical.
18:06You want me to physical?
18:07That's another big brother move too to show a guy how strong you are.
18:12Whipped him off his feet.
18:13Angel Will now going back to the jab.
18:16You know, Leo consistently put body shot there from Kameda on the inside.
18:19That was a nice little shuttle punch.
18:21Yeah, he found some space for that one.
18:23Now they're both going to have this.
18:25The body shot battle.
18:26The Mexican-American versus the Japanese-American.
18:31Left hooks to the body are going to be.
18:33The Japanese-Mexican.
18:34Yeah.
18:34The Japanese-Mexican.
18:36Now it's a macho fight.
18:40What about a low blow?
18:42Referee says, I didn't see it.
18:43Fight on.
18:44Referee's like, guys, you want to take it to this kind of fight?
18:47Yeah, you want to make it rough.
18:49Suit yourselves.
18:51Yeah, I'll let you guys make it rough.
18:52Just leave me out of it.
18:52Yeah, I think Leo, when he gets on that jab, really, he shows the separation.
18:58And that's smart, too, because it's a little change of pace there.
19:01You make Kameda think you're going to start banging away body shots and body shots,
19:04and you start all of a sudden using your jab and throwing it off.
19:07Kameda's still trying to get back to the body, though, a second ago.
19:10And both fighters committed to the body early.
19:13Wondering who would make that commitment.
19:15It turns out it's both of them.
19:16Well, that seems like they made a decision.
19:20An unspoken agreement.
19:21Like, all right, we're going to bang each other with left hooks now with their body.
19:26Kameda's trying to out-Mexican the Mexican.
19:37Yeah, I don't like that posing there.
19:39You got to get on that jab, and Leo did.
19:46What do we say might be a possibility, which is Kameda using his volume and his positioning
19:51to bank rounds early.
19:53Don't know any of the judges' scorecards.
19:54Can't really tell what they're paying attention to.
19:57But if that's his strategy, Chris, you're doing a good job of sticking with it.
20:00Yeah, no, I think he's brought a very disciplined, smart fight.
20:04I think he's probably in the lead right now, very, very close.
20:08You know, but we're starting to see these guys' game plans open up.
20:13I think Leo's being a bit busier, though.
20:15You know, I think Leo's output is a bit busier.
20:17But it's Kameda who's more focused on controlling the ring and controlling the space in the ring.
20:23And that, a lot of times, can give you the illusion of control as well.
20:26So, you know, it is nip and tuck here.
20:28Because I think Leo, with his jab and his more versatile left hand,
20:33is getting off more shots together.
20:35Then when they got in the phone booth, yeah, they go back and forth with those body shots and whatnot.
20:39But I think at mid-range, Leo has done a pretty good job of being first more consistently.
20:47And in round number six, scheduled for 12.
20:54I just thought that Leo last round, especially early on, got a little too overanxious with punches like that.
21:00And we actually got caught. Very eye-catching shots, that first jab.
21:04And then also, it looked like he got bent over with a body shot at one point.
21:08Yeah, he allowed Kameda to sort of get comfortable at close range last round in those spots.
21:13You see again, Kameda using the head to back Leo off, and then trying to punch once he breaks his position.
21:19Kameda loves when he's got you pinned on the ropes.
21:21But at this range here, is where Leo was being first more consistently.
21:25Is Kameda going to make sure that changes?
21:26Yeah, the Leo jab makes this fight very, very different.
21:30Ooh, nice combination.
21:32Nice combination, ending with the body shot from Leo.
21:34Right!
21:35You see Kameda holding on for the first time.
21:37He may have felt that body shot.
21:39Does Leo sense it?
21:42That was all set up by the jab.
21:44Once again, when Leo is jabbing, this is a whole different fight.
21:47Also, like I said, Kameda at this range, comfortable, but waits a lot.
21:50You know, Leo has typically done a better job of being first here.
21:54Leo needs to be smart and not get caught up in that waiting game as well.
21:59You don't want to have a staring contest.
22:11Good job on this round six of six of staying on his bike, not posing.
22:14Jabbing and then moving, Chris.
22:16Yeah, he's doubling that jab up beautifully.
22:18And this is a round where Kameda is falling behind in terms of output, and it becomes apparent.
22:24Because a lot of times what Kameda's doing is he's trying to come forward, but he's not punching.
22:27So he comes forward and then he's the one that gets hit.
22:30Leo's actually showing some pretty good footwork here,
22:32being efficient with the lateral movement, but also firing off that.
22:36So this is where Kameda usually does his best work, when he's got his opponent against the ropes,
22:43he likes to let his hands go, a little bit of shoeshine, long straight punches,
22:46and then tries to land some big hooks.
22:48So Leo does a good job there smothering.
22:49Yes, like this.
22:51Showing some physicality there.
23:02Yeah, right there.
23:06Eye guards, close range.
23:11Leo's at his hand up with all those punches, dude.
23:14Now body shot on the elbow, and now Kameda got shots off, though.
23:17Yeah, trying to take back the round.
23:25Okay, first warning about the head.
23:28Back comes Leo with the jab, smart.
23:30Another head burning again.
23:34It's so, it's so, it's so.
23:38One.
23:43Boxing's million dollar man, Justin Faldo,
23:46is back in action on Pro Box TV.
23:49When he faces the battle-tested Mexican, Juan Carlos Furgo.
23:53And teenage sensation, Emiliano Moreno returns in the co-feature.
23:58As he faces the rugged power puncher from Ecuador, Aaron Paul.
24:02See it live, Saturday, June 7th, as Pro Box TV returns to the Alamo City.
24:09Now, June 7th, back in Texas.
24:19But strangely enough, we have our Mexican versus Mexican affair in Japan.
24:24Mexican-Japanese, Kameda, take on the Mexican-American, Angelo Leo.
24:30You see why Kameda got the warning, you saw it in the replay.
24:33Usually, he's giving the illusion of the head, but Leo's going back, so he's not catching the butt.
24:38In that moment in the replay, you saw Kameda actually use his head to shift Leo.
24:42He actually pushed him off with the head, so that's why the referee caught it.
24:45What the rest is not catching is, you know, when Kameda uses his head to literally force Leo back.
24:51Second half of the fight here, round seven of the 12-rounder.
25:00Very Nick-tuck affair, back and forth.
25:02A lot of fights still left to go, guys, and this fight's going to be decided in the second half.
25:08We saw a lot of back and forth ebbs and flows so far, but you expect from two high-level guys.
25:13Kameda tried to steal that last round with some flurries.
25:17Yeah, after starting out slow, I still gave the round to Leo, but here, Kameda coming out a little bit faster.
25:28Gentlemen, it also just shows the absurdity of Leo being a 6-1 favorite in this fight.
25:33Absolutely absurd. This has been a close fight.
25:35Especially in the guy's own country.
25:39Maybe they know something we don't know.
25:47Kameda has been typically in this fight controlling the center.
25:55He should be cutting the ring off here, though.
25:56Leo just circled the ring completely.
26:01You know, Kameda wants to impose himself physically there.
26:04Like right here, he should be cutting off the ring better.
26:06There he is now.
26:07He's forced Leo.
26:09That way you can make him a bit more uncomfortable if you're gonna put that kind of pressure on him.
26:12Because it's Leo getting off those shots.
26:14Leo does a good job of smothering.
26:16Mm-hmm.
26:16And then, and that's why also Kameda likes to use his head there, too,
26:19because it prevents Leo from smothering.
26:20It forces Leo to go backwards instead of forward.
26:22Oh, well-timed uppercut.
26:25That guy could have been out for another one.
26:28Oh, into the body.
26:30Back comes Kameda with the fast hands.
26:31But, like you said, Chan, Leo smothering the fast hands.
26:34Good, good, smart move when you got a guy who likes Leo's hands go that way.
26:38Good jab again, steps in, ties him up.
26:43Leo's showing a lot of craft here.
26:47Yeah, he has to.
26:47Do you see Kameda wiping his forehead?
26:49It's from that uppercut.
26:50Starting to feel the swelling.
26:51Yeah.
26:52Yeah, that guy landed on a weird spot, man.
26:55Yeah, it was kind of on top of the eye, right?
26:57Yeah, like middle of the eye to one side.
26:59But you saw him wipe that forehead several times.
27:05Like this.
27:06Leo changing levels, up and down, giving different looks, back to the jab.
27:11Actually backing Kameda up for the first time.
27:13Yeah, off that faint double jab.
27:15That's what I mean.
27:16Sometimes the subtle things that will back guys up.
27:18I really think that uppercut bothered Kameda.
27:20I think he's still thinking about it.
27:24Because that one also came with the right hand.
27:25It had been the left uppercut that Leo had been using and he's still using.
27:28But that one is surprising with the right one.
27:30I don't think Leo Kameda expected it.
27:32He's stilling.
27:37Explodes in at times.
27:45love to see where that uppercut has landed.
27:50pretty lively in there yeah the Japanese fans there huh wait they're
28:04getting their money's worth yes this is a great tactical high-level fight as a
28:09replay of a lot of punches throwing not a lot of land a lot of spend there's a
28:13smaller that's an example of how Leo smothers Kameda's flurries takes away the
28:21ability to do the eye do the eye catching thing because you know a speed flurry
28:25will sometimes catch the eye of the judges at least when you smother it yeah
28:28Kameda will do a shoe shiny type situation we're not trying to put a lot of damage
28:32we're trying to score points Kameda's not Leo is not allowing that good timing on
28:38his uppercuts as Kameda has been coming in begin around number eight the
28:44question here gentlemen is can Leo really start separating himself late he's gonna
28:50need to I mean you're fighting in the guy's hometown we've got a close fight
28:53we have close rounds I have Leo slightly ahead but this is a very very close fight
29:00yeah optics like you said Jimmy you know earlier in fight optics you know they can go
29:07anywhere I think Leo it has is been slightly better with punch selection the jab being
29:14first being with the jab I think he's been slightly better but Kameda's also been good so it's been
29:20close but as we say greatness shows over time a lot of times a better boxer really in
29:26those last few rounds and we're in round number eight made it if they start separating themselves
29:30Kameda's been very good about being a veteran stealing rounds stealing moments you know eye
29:34catching shots flurry splash because he also doesn't break position when Leo punches so you
29:39know Leo does a good job of being first and you got to catch that but Kameda will do a good job of
29:44making it look like it's not really a lot going on even when Leo's throwing by by not breaking position
29:49but what I noticed is that Leo's first more of the time and that and for me that counts for a lot
29:55tomato does a lot of weight here he charges up to the explosive his first hero that right hand
30:06looked like Atlanta but not sure if it did it looked like it was one of those ones that chop trickle up
30:10down and you roll with it nice stiff jab right to the middle splits the guard and that's again
30:20Leo going back to being first yeah not a lot of tick tock from the head movement of of Kameda so that
30:28jab down the middle has been a consistent weapon the body shot by Kameda there though and then see Leo
30:34with the combination coming right back that's that that talk about eye catching that's more to me
30:39that's more eye catching because he's going upstairs he's going downstairs he's picking the shots well
30:42and then he's smothering here smothering the work of Kameda in return made it throw two nasty uppercuts
30:48that didn't like that one did yeah he's sticking with those uppercuts they always got to be careful
30:53in there with these uppercuts but let's do damage
30:56another one now and back lay off
31:02at a certain point though you gotta especially if you're a lay or you're a left hooker you see Kameda
31:08keep constantly throwing that right uppercut you gotta you gotta start trying to tie it with the left hooker
31:12if you're gonna stay in there like that
31:15shoulder push off there from Leo
31:1820 seconds left to go in round number eight
31:22it's team together once again
31:24well it's been a very close round
31:38and Kameda's picking a spot
31:47four rounds to go
31:51in what has been a nip-tuck fight
31:57either fight or Kameda
31:59very comfortable in a lead at this point
32:02Chris you still have uh
32:04Angelo Leo slightly heck
32:06I could see it being even here
32:07um
32:08you know it's it's they've been going back and forth and the rounds are very very close
32:13see that I told you I said that that punch didn't look like it landed
32:16it was more the glove
32:17kind of rolled with it right
32:18yeah it's it's one of those shots that hits your glove and roll and kind of moves you
32:26but that's what I mean you see situations like that depending on where you are in the ring from the judge's perspective
32:31that punch landed or it didn't
32:32yeah
32:33so you're gonna get different different scores potentially from the defensive aspect you ride with it
32:37so it looks like you sometimes you get hit with it
32:39right
32:44one of the reasons I hate long hair because it moves
32:46yeah even when it doesn't hit you
32:48and then it gets wet and splashes
32:50it looks dramatic
32:52not a problem I've ever had
32:54now as we go to round number nine
32:58Angelo Leo can he put a stamp on these last four rounds
33:03nice combination
33:04I'll see Kameda, remember Kameda doing what he was doing on the pads earlier
33:06remember the shots coming at him and what does he do?
33:08holds his ground and continues to press forward
33:10continues to press forward
33:11doesn't want to break position
33:12wants to keep that mental stress on Leo
33:14then he backs him up with the head there like I said earlier
33:16forced Leo back as he's blown with his head and then he tried to throw that body shot
33:20Kameda has never been knocked out in his professional career
33:2446 pro fights
33:25yeah we were talking about the Kameda brothers
33:27they both have combined over 80 professional fights
33:30neither one has ever been stopped
33:36you know power is God given turns out so is the chin
33:39yeah
33:40it's also mindset too right
33:41yeah
33:42and genetics
33:45a lot of factors go into it
33:47whatever it is
33:48whatever combination it is
33:49Kameda has it
33:52no holding
33:53no holding
33:54no holding
33:55no holding
33:56right
34:01getting real physical in there guys
34:04both guys are throwing deadly lethal punches on the inside
34:07these uppercuts have been real nasty
34:08he's gonna try to grab this bull by the horns
34:12unless as we approach the last three and a half rounds here
34:16of the fight
34:17you know it's interesting because in totality I like the work of Leo
34:21he's busier
34:22he's first
34:23his jab has been consistent
34:24I think he's I think he's landed overall the better punches but
34:28Kameda's ability to steal moments in roles at the right time
34:31good right hand
34:32I was saying Kameda has the ability to steal moments in rounds being such a veteran that he's making this a much closer fight
34:44scoring wise than you may think
34:47you may think
34:51again even physically
34:52you see what he's doing
34:53you see using the head he popped Leo's head up there
34:56and grabbing the arm on the opposite side of the ref
35:01and Leo always goes back to that jab and it lands
35:03it's not
35:04because you said there's not a lot of tick-tock on the head on the head of Kameda right
35:08not a lot of head movement
35:09no he's high guard right down the middle is open
35:10so the straight punches are there to land
35:15and there's a lot of chipping chipping away from Leo and then Kameda will throw this big slashing shot and make a noise
35:22Ooh, five shot by Kameda and W up there
35:28Kameda has good snappy shots that do catch the eye
35:31Steals moments
35:33good right hand
35:36so that was a good round for Leo and then Kameda came back
35:42Boxing's Million Dollar Man, Justin Paldo is back in action on Pro Box TV
35:47when he faces the battle-tested Mexican Juan Carlos Furgo
35:52and Teenage Sensation Emiliano Moreno returns in the co-feature
35:57as he faces the rugged power puncher from Ecuador
36:01Aaron Paul
36:02see it live
36:03Saturday June 7th
36:05as Pro Box TV returns to the Alamo City
36:08he's ready
36:15Justin Paldo of course a career redefining performance his last time out in San Antonio looking for another one
36:22Tomoki Kameda looking for a career redefiner tonight
36:27in Osaka Japan
36:29Angelo Leo a 6-1 favorite and we have a very very close fight
36:33and his last three rounds could be very very crucial guys
36:39with round 10 Angelo Leo sprinting across the ring
36:43and he knows it he knows the situation he's in
36:48one thing I was very impressed with
36:50Angelo Leo when he won the title against Venado Lopez was his conditioning
36:54he showed that was a high output fight he got hit with some big shots
36:58but came on strong when it mattered
37:01see if he can do that again tonight
37:03because I do believe he's going to need it
37:07Kameda has not slowed down throughout this fight very good at taking the real estate
37:14a rare jab from Kameda
37:24yeah Leo came up short with the counter right
37:27Kameda starting to move around well
37:30very well
37:32Leo came out fast
37:34and it's not working out in his favor
37:37yeah and Kameda telling him to bring it
37:39another headbutt
37:40Leo
37:46Leo punches a little arm where you guys
37:48he's been hit with some good body shots
37:51Kameda's body shot is kind of tricky
37:54it's not loopy it's tight
37:58this Japanese crowd reacts every time Kameda lands
38:05oh
38:08there's more snap on the shots of Kameda
38:10yeah
38:11those catching the eyes more of the judge than the crowd
38:15Leo started to
38:17back out of those in tight quarters
38:20we're seeing the game plan of Kameda now like you were talking about when he was warming up
38:24they're holding position walking through shots
38:27yeah
38:31Leo lands but Kameda doesn't back off
38:33is it going to be a battle of attrition here
38:37both guys are going to try to get the other guy to back off
38:39Kameda answers everything
38:42even when he gets hit with good shots he comes right back
38:45we are at the point in the fight where you know somebody's got to take the bull by the horns and try to make it
38:49be the difference maker
38:51so far in this round it's Kameda
38:53although good combination by Angelo Lea
38:55again he use it to head that's where the referee is not catching
39:00he only warned him once it's been all night though
39:03and that was when it was obvious when he literally just used it to push
39:06like there he's pushing there as well
39:08and that a low blow there
39:18Kameda may take a break but you know what I bet you
39:21clock's still running though
39:23timekeeper didn't stop the clock
39:25I don't know if the referee is called timeout
39:28it's a little home cooking there
39:32to be able to talk to the ref tell the ref what's going on
39:35and chop down at the time because Leo was really coming on
39:3910 seconds left
39:43this round started really good for Kameda but ended good with Leo
39:45again that flurry from Kameda
39:52timing of winning moments at the right part of the round
39:56very very good veteran tactics from Kameda
40:06just two more rounds left
40:09and as you said good start from Kameda
40:11yeah he had a really good open to that round because Leo came out a little too aggressive
40:18left himself open like you said champ a little arm weary early on
40:22but then came on real strong in the second half of the round but was it enough?
40:25those odds are looking really really uh really interesting money really interesting right now
40:32perhaps six to one favor was he plus 390? it was
40:38last one we have is just under 400 it was like 398
40:41yeah this is why we say throughout the odds when we talk about pro box fights
40:46even at the championship level
40:48there you go
40:49there you go
41:07Angelo's trying to take some real estate away from Kameda
41:09And Angelo Leyo trying to take some real estate away from Kameda.
41:12Well, he's doing a good job.
41:13Kameda was using the head.
41:15Angelo used the shoulder there to create space.
41:18You've got to kind of get underneath the head of Kameda
41:21to use that leverage and push him off if you're going to do that.
41:24Yeah, I was going to say, too much waiting there,
41:39but the jab has always been the separator.
41:41And that was the big difference early on in the fight for me.
41:44And that's also the only thing that really backs off Kameda, too.
41:47You know, when Leyo throws power and Kameda holds his position,
41:50but when Leyo starts jabbing at midrange, it actually backs off Kameda.
41:53Another warning about a low blow.
41:56A point deduction would be disastrous here for Leyo.
42:00He's got to get on that jab.
42:01I don't know.
42:04He had such good success with that early on.
42:07And I thought it was really separating him in this fight
42:10because when they're going punch for punch,
42:12Kameda's just so tricky at stealing moments and rounds.
42:16And he's so durable.
42:18Walks through the shots, holds position, responds immediately.
42:23Second warning for what?
42:24About the head.
42:25Behind the back?
42:29Believe it was the head.
42:30So both guys are on their final warning for something.
42:33And Leyo is for a low blow.
42:35Don't like that move.
42:37I know it worked early, but it's very dangerous.
42:40When you're getting tired, your arms are arm-weary.
42:43They get a little wider, so it gets a little bit more sloppy.
42:45You can pay for that.
42:46And especially when the jab has been so effective.
42:49The lead right hand isn't there anymore.
42:51The jab is the web.
42:56Nice combinations there from Leyo.
42:58But he stays in the pocket and allows Kameda to come back.
43:04Good break there by the ref.
43:06We'll also take care of some tape on the...
43:08Yeah, that's what I mean.
43:09The clock still goes.
43:10They don't stop the clock.
43:11There it goes.
43:14Remember, we're trying to adapt here in the United States,
43:17the timekeeper in Japan.
43:18Let's see.
43:22Champion, you're making a great point about the jab.
43:24It's also been the only punch that has backed off Kameda,
43:28broken his position.
43:29I think Leyo has to really focus on that.
43:31It's really been the only punch that's been consistent for either man.
43:34Neither man has been able to really establish any particular shot all night long
43:40other than Leyo's jab,
43:44which is working round one,
43:46and it's working here in round 11.
43:48Good round so far for Angelo Leyo.
43:51Yeah, very good round here.
43:52As you said, Chris staying behind that jab.
43:55Also, he's taking the power off.
43:57He's Kameda going to start to steal it.
43:58Let's see.
43:59He's going to see the 10-second tap.
44:01Let's see if Leyo does anything about it.
44:05Come Leyo, I'm moving right now.
44:07Step away, create distance.
44:08He's already got the round.
44:09Bain did his way out.
44:11Nice.
44:13All right, coming down to it.
44:15And right down to the wire.
44:17Chris, how's your scorecard looking as we head it into round 12?
44:22I like Leyo where he's at right now, but, I mean, raise their thing,
44:25but also not take into account the location, right?
44:29So that was actually, that was a little low.
44:32But definitely got elicited reaction.
44:38And again, judging.
44:40If the ref didn't say that was low and you're on the other side,
44:42you 100% think that's a body shot, double buckling the guy over.
44:45So it's a lot of rounds like that.
44:47Three judges, one from the Philippines, one from Canada, one from Australia.
44:52No Japanese or American judges.
44:56This title fight in the featherweight division.
44:58American champion, not an American, no, not even one American judge.
45:07In the last fight, we had a Filipino judge, and we had a Japanese judge,
45:09and then we had a, who's the American judge?
45:14Filipino versus a Japanese fighter.
45:16We had one judge from Japan, one from the Philippines, one from the United States.
45:19And Joe Leo definitely needing this round 12 to retain his title.
45:30I think it's probably, neither guy should bank on trying to lose it.
45:35I'm thinking they don't need this round.
45:36They can coast.
45:37Yeah.
45:38I mean, both guys should be fighting in round 12 here.
45:42And how much does Kameda have left?
45:43Because he did not have a big spirited effort in round 11, and Leo did.
45:46You see the front, you see the straight jab,
45:49but you see the straight punches, they backed off Kameda.
45:51Those are what backed Kameda up because he can't hold position on straight punches
45:55because he's too far away.
45:56So he wants to get inside those straight punches.
45:59While when you start arcing punches, and even if you're throwing power,
46:03Kameda does a good job of holding position.
46:05You see, again, Leo with the jab and straight right hands,
46:08and even the simple punches,
46:10will probably do a better job of controlling range at Kameda.
46:13And then once in a while, surprise him with a body shot like that.
46:15As you said, Chris, not a spirited round 11.
46:17And right now, Angelo in charge of round 12.
46:20Yeah, and he made an adjustment last round.
46:22He took the power off the shots.
46:23He went back to the straight punches, the fundamentals.
46:26Ooh, good job.
46:28Nice combination in and out.
46:30And he caught the left hand on the glove.
46:31Took a page of Kameda with the flurries.
46:35Nah, he made a good adjustment here.
46:36He's got a good gas tank.
46:39He's feeling good.
46:39Ooh, got hit with a big right hand there.
46:44Hey, Kameda trying to get it back now in the second half of the round.
46:47Yeah, but Angelo's letting him come in too close.
46:50He's got to get back on that jab.
46:51There it is.
46:52The double jab consistently holds Kameda at bay.
46:55Oh, good right hand from Leo.
47:01After he just taken it from Kameda.
47:04Is that swelling around the eye of Kameda, the front side?
47:06The front of the left eye?
47:09It's hard to tell if it's in the shadow or bruising.
47:11See the head again, Kameda.
47:12Just literally uses it as a battering ram.
47:15He tries to push Leo out of position.
47:18Yeah, that left eye of Kameda.
47:19I see some swelling, you're right, and the cheek and the eye.
47:24The heads keep going together.
47:2840 seconds left to go.
47:31Good right hand from Kameda.
47:35I think Leo's had a good round so far.
47:36Yeah, absolutely.
47:37Very good.
47:3811 and 12 for Leo have been really, really smart.
47:43Good adjustments, nice body shot there.
47:46Good smother as well.
47:49Crossroads fight for both fighters.
47:56Which way will it go?
47:58Ten seconds left to go in the final round.
48:01Kameda's going to try to flurry.
48:02Let's see what Leo does here.
48:05Keep it simple.
48:06The jab.
48:07Oh, there's a right hand from Kameda.
48:08Another one.
48:11That is it.
48:13It is up to the judges, gentlemen.
48:15He didn't keep a simple layoff.
48:16No, he did not.
48:17He let Kameda close that distance.
48:22I thought Leo had a good round 12, though.
48:24Yeah, I did.
48:24Let's see.
48:24You know, Kameda had a lot of round-stealing attempts late in some of these rounds.
48:30See if the judges allowed him to steal the round.
48:33It is a competitive fight.
48:35It was a good fight.
48:36It's a tactical fight.
48:37After 10, I had this fight even, but I liked Leo 11 and 12.
48:43I think the champion finishing that strong, I don't care where you are.
48:47It's hard to go against them.
48:49But it is a very close fight with a lot of weird rounds.
48:52And, again, the tactics from Kameda.
48:54That's stealing these moments and coming back.
48:59It's like Evander Holyfield.
49:00They didn't fight three minutes of every round in the second and later portion of his career.
49:04He was able to steal rounds.
49:05Kameda is sort of doing that.
49:06Not quite old manning it, but being very smart about it.
49:10Including using the head.
49:11That was from round one.
49:16Yeah, it's another Evander Holyfield tactic.
49:23So, let's lay it out.
49:24Kameda took the center, right?
49:26So, he claimed a lot of real estate throughout this fight.
49:28Did bull forward a lot.
49:30Pauly, with the benefit of using his head.
49:33Did have some kind of, you know, round-stealing combinations that may have looked good.
49:38Feather-Q title match.
49:41Say ten no結果を発表いたします.
49:44Yeah, the judges.
49:45School cards quick, right?
49:47Ready to go.
49:50Nail-biter here.
49:51Jadji Carl Zappia.
49:53115-113.
49:57Jadji Jilko.
49:59116-112.
50:02What if you're late on this?
50:03Jadji Richard Bluang.
50:05114-114.
50:08Jadji Jilko.

50:11Shoushap, IBF世界フェザーキューチャンピオン!
50:19Layo wins it in a very difficult, tough fight.
50:24Chris, Pauly, none of this came easy tonight.
50:27No.
50:27No.
50:27Not at all.
50:28I wish I understood Japanese.
50:29I would have seen the scorecards.
50:30Right.
50:31But I'm wondering if Layo closing out 11 and 12 is what made the difference, you know?
50:35I'll reiterate again, I believe, you know, Kameda was able to show a lot of the position
50:44game when Layo tried to throw too much power.
50:46But the straight punches were backing off Kameda.
50:48And I think Layo realized that in the last...
