00:00Hello, welcome back. This is the National Weather Forecast, looking at what's going on across Australia for Thursday, which will be the 17th of July.
00:08And we continue with not too much weather this week. No big, powerful weather systems we've got.
00:13A front moving across the southeast during Thursday morning. Tasmania-Victoria copping the brunt of that one.
00:19That one pushes through during the afternoon.
00:21We will see the development of this inland trough bring some rain to parts of southern Queensland, northern New South Wales,
00:28mostly away from the coast. And outside of those two weather features, it's pretty clear and dry across the country.
00:34Thanks to these H's here, these high-pressure areas, they do bring lots of settled and sunny weather.
00:41So it's not quite the clear blue sky that we've had through the week so far across Queensland,
00:46at least through the second half of the day. The morning will be bright and sunny pretty much everywhere.
00:51But after lunch, we'll see a few showers develop over parts of the Maranoa region into the Darling Downs as well.
00:57We might also see one or two light showers affect the southeast coast.
01:01That could clip Brisbane. Don't anticipate much rain there.
01:05Anyone from Rockhampton northwards or out through the western districts ought to see another fine day,
01:09with temperatures just on the warm side of average.
01:13A clear night tonight means a clear cold morning tomorrow morning.
01:17Many spots back into the negative, so lots of frost through parts of inland New South Wales on Thursday.
01:22That will clear up, that will melt away, it will be fine and sunny for most areas, including Sydney,
01:28the Central Coast, the Hunter, the Illawarra. Beautiful day along that stretch of coastline.
01:32We will see a few showers around the northwest slopes and plains in the northern Tablelands,
01:36particularly as the day comes towards a close.
01:39A cold front crosses Victoria through the morning, so we'll get a little burst of showers before lunch.
01:44We'll get some cool winds kicking in before lunch, and that will all clear up by about early afternoon,
01:49and then it becomes mostly sunny, but a little bit chilly for the second half of the day.
01:54Rainfall totals will be low, just a couple of millimetres in most southern districts,
01:58maybe a touch more than that right along the southwest coast.
02:02Tasmania will also pick up this front through the morning, really the first few hours of the day,
02:06between about 4am and 8am.
02:08We could see showers across almost anywhere in the state, but by late morning those showers will have cleared up,
02:14and it will become mostly fine through the east and the north.
02:18Hobart will have some good sunny spells through the afternoon,
02:21but those temperatures aren't really budging much from the last couple of days, 12 degrees as the high.
02:26Even South Australia, copping a few showers as this front goes past,
02:29sort of all southern coastal areas could get a little bit of rainfall,
02:33just a millimetre or two on the western coasts, and maybe up to about 10 millimetres down here on the southeast.
02:39Adelaide perhaps up to about 5 millimetres.
02:42All that rain clears up before lunch, and the second half of the day is settled and sunny statewide.
02:48Some lovely crisp winter weather across western Australia,
02:51not much to talk about regarding rainfall,
02:53maybe a little shower around the southwestern corner, other places are all dry.
02:58Will be a very cold morning through inland spots,
03:00so anticipate some frost if you're not near the coast, and then a clear afternoon.
03:05Pretty ideal for winter, unless of course you are still hoping for rainfall.
03:10And not a lot to talk about across the tropical north,
03:12beautiful dry season conditions continue up here,
03:16sunny and warm across the tropical north.
03:18Maybe one thing worth saying, it will be a cold morning on Thursday through central Australia,
03:23temperatures down to around 2 degrees through Alice Springs and Uluru,
03:26but warming up to around 20 during the daytime.
03:29That's all from me today, you've got more info on the Bureau's website and app if you want it.
