00:00G'day from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for Thursday the 1st of May.
00:05And looking around the country we'll continue to see high pressure dominate much of the country
00:10and that's going to lead to dry and stable conditions for many areas. The only wet weather
00:15will be some coastal showers along New South Wales and the Queensland coast and maybe just
00:20a chance of a shower or storm across our tropical north as well but elsewhere will be fine dry and
00:26sunny thanks to that high pressure system. Now let's look at all this in more detail firstly in
00:31Queensland where we're likely to see those coastal showers through much of eastern Queensland but for
00:36inland areas will be another dry warm and sunny day with temperatures in the mid to high 20s inland
00:42low 30s across the north and in the high 20s to near 30 degrees about the coast. A bit cooler in
00:48southeast Queensland and it'll be a sunny 25 degrees in Brisbane. Moving down the coast into New South
00:55Wales showers will continue across the eastern parts of the state particularly for our coastal areas
01:01and that'll keep conditions quite cool as well with temperatures in the high teens to near 20 degrees.
01:07On and west of the ranges it'll be another dry and partly cloudy day. Pretty cool though with
01:13temperatures again in the high teens to low 20s. Sydney another showery 20 degrees quite cool there
01:19and Canberra 17 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Moving down into Victoria will
01:25continue this theme of dry cool and mostly sunny weather around 19 or 20 degrees for northern parts
01:31of the state and in the mid to high teens through southern areas with partly cloudy skies. Melbourne 18
01:38degrees and partly cloudy. Moving down into Tasmania right under that high pressure system could see some
01:44morning frost in our inland areas but then it'll be a mostly sunny day with areas in the mid to high teens.
01:51Hobart a partly cloudy 15 degrees. Now moving up into South Australia where this dry weather unfortunately
01:58will continue across much of the state. Temperatures in the mid 20s and sunny in the north. Low 20s to
02:04teens in the south. Adelaide looking at a partly cloudy and dry 21 degrees. Moving across into Western
02:12Australia that dry theme will continue for much of the state. Temperatures in the low 30s across northern areas
02:18areas and warming up as well as we get into southern areas as the northerly winds bring heat down to the
02:23south. 34 at Geraldton and even a partly cloudy 31 degrees at Perth. While even our southern coastal
02:30areas could warm up into the mid 20s but conditions will remain dry. Then finally across our tropical north.
02:37Wet season is almost done across our tropical north. You can see a dry and sunny day for many areas. Just a chance of a shower
02:44or storm across our far northern locations and the eastern top end. Darwin could actually have a dry
02:50partly cloudy 33 degrees. So there's not much weather going on but we could pick up into the weekend.
02:56Remember you can always get the latest forecasts and warnings for your area
