Storms for the west and north-east, settled in the south-east

Low pressure system pushing through west of the country, bringing fresh concerns for flooding with large rainfall totals expected.

00:00Hello, Sarah from the Bureau with your National Weather Forecast for tomorrow.

00:04So that's Wednesday the 20th of November.

00:07So we'll start off by looking at tomorrow's weather map, and here we have a low-pressure

00:11system that's drawing really humid tropical air from the Indian Ocean and bringing widespread

00:16showers and storms to WA.

00:19While this ridge of high pressure maintains clear and dry conditions across the southeastern

00:24and southern parts, for Queensland, however, a lingering trough continues to bring showers

00:30and storms through inland parts, and then significantly this coastal trough developing

00:35through the day, bringing really wet weather to the central coast of Queensland.

00:40So we'll zoom in for Queensland, and here we can see it, and tomorrow we've actually

00:43got isolated to scattered showers and possible storms forecast for much of the state, with

00:49the focus of the storms extending from southern parts up into the Gulf Country.

00:55Also we've got the central coast and the Capricornia that will see an increase with rain areas

01:00and storms.

01:01However, for Brisbane, we're forecasting a cloudy and rainy day with a top of just 22 degrees.

01:09For New South Wales, scattered showers about the far northeast will become more isolated

01:14as we move inland with the risk of a storm there.

01:17For the remainder of the east coast, however, isolated showers about the ranges as well.

01:23Inland dry and sunny conditions.

01:26For Sydney, we're forecasting a partly cloudy day with a slight chance of a shower atop

01:30of 22 degrees.

01:31For Canberra, a partly cloudy day and 26.

01:34For Victoria, however, the southerly winds are going to keep the temperatures really

01:38mild on and south of the ranges with partly cloudy conditions.

01:43For the north, however, warm and sunny.

01:46Melbourne is a partly cloudy day with a top of just 22 degrees.

01:51Down in Tasmania, a generally dry day with just a slight chance of a shower about the

01:55west and the south coast.

01:57Hobart, a slight chance of a shower during the morning and then a partly cloudy day atop

02:02of 17 degrees.

02:04For South Australia, dry and sunny conditions and starting to really warm up from the west.

02:10For Adelaide, a sunny and warm day atop of 29 degrees.

02:16Over in WA, it's going to be humid with widespread showers and thunderstorms that will gradually

02:22start to ease from the west as that trough moves eastwards.

02:35For Perth, we're forecasting a cloudy day with showers and the risk of a thunderstorm

02:40atop of 25 degrees.

02:43For northern parts of the country, scattered showers and storms, typical for this time

02:48of year.

02:49Darwin, showers and a possible storm atop of 33 degrees.
