Rob Gregson talks about the latest news surrounding 49ers WR Jauan Jennings, and how it could give Steelers GM Omar Khan the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

00:00What if I told you that the most polarizing offseason in the history of the Pittsburgh
00:03Steelers was not done yet? That following some big news on Monday, that Omar Khan and the
00:08Pittsburgh Steelers have a chance to right two wrong and kill two birds with one stone.
00:16Flashback to around this time last offseason. What do we have? The Pittsburgh Steelers firmly
00:21entrenched with a trade discussion surrounding San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon
00:26Ayuk. What happens? It falls through. Ayuk and the Steelers, they can't come to terms. He stays.
00:30He signs a deal. And Omar Khan is just left at the altar staring, looking around at what just
00:35happened as he attempted to get a star wide receiver. Then you go to this offseason. Obviously,
00:40the Pittsburgh Steelers, they make up for that. They signed DK Metcalf. But they also trade away
00:45George Pickens. And now while we like Kavanass in the third, we're optimistic about Roman Wilson.
00:50There is a hole in that wide receiver number two role with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But guess what
00:55happens on Monday? In a very deja vu moment for 49ers fans and probably the 49ers front office,
01:00Jawan Jennings comes out and says, hey guys, I either want to be paid or to go someplace that's
01:06going to pay me. And he has every right. He just turned 28 years old. He's heading into the final
01:10year of his deal. And he was the San Francisco 49ers offense at times last season with obviously Ayuk
01:16being injured, Kittle being up and down, and then Debo Samuel not always being the same player that he
01:22once was. So for Jawan Jennings, it makes all the sense in the world why you want to get paid. And
01:28if you're the Pittsburgh Steelers, it makes all the sense in the world why you would trade for him.
01:32This is not as if we're asking the team to trade for Brandon Ayuk last year to go alongside with
01:37DK Metcalf. No, this is a player that is going to go for probably a day three pick, maybe, maybe a third
01:44rounder, probably a short to mid-range deal that's nowhere near what we just saw Garrett Wilson get
01:50paid on Monday, well over $100 million. This is a wide receiver number two, wide receiver number three
01:56type of player. This is a player that you stick into an offense where you want some easy buckets,
02:01some layups that we call some production that you can get over the middle of the field. He's a perfect
02:06fit for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But perhaps more importantly, he gives Omar Khan another chance
02:11to get back at the San Francisco 49ers and to add to a major hole on offense.
