00:00Feeling anxious right now? Try this simple trick that works in just one minute.
00:05It's called the 5-4-3-2-1 method, and here's how it works.
00:10First, look around and name five things you can see.
00:14It could be a lamp, your phone, a window, anything nearby.
00:19Next, name four things you can physically touch.
00:23Feel your clothes, the chair you're sitting on, maybe the floor under your feet.
00:27Now listen and name three sounds you hear.
00:31Maybe traffic outside, a fan running, or your own breathing.
00:35Then notice two smells around you.
00:38If you don't smell anything, just remember a scent you like.
00:42Finally, name one thing you can taste.
00:45Maybe your last meal, or even just the taste in your mouth.
00:49This works because anxiety lives in thoughts about the future,
00:53but this method forces your brain to focus on the present moment instead.
00:58Your breathing will slow, your heart rate will drop,
01:02and that panicky feeling will start to fade.
01:05Try it next time you feel anxious.
01:07It takes just 60 seconds but can make a huge difference.
