00:00Poor early days in pre-season but a dominant 8-1 win at Badshutley in the

00:05first Phyllis Tuckwell trophy game. Pleasing wages to keep things ticking over.

00:10Yeah, the scoreline is the scoreline at this stage of the season.

00:16We've only been back this week, we've obviously started on Tuesday in our first training session on Thursday.

00:21We've put a few goals into pleasing and it's been a good day.

00:25It's obviously very early days in pre-season, obviously not really about results.

00:29It's always nice getting a lot of goals but pleased with how the partnerships are going early on.

00:35Obviously you manage the minutes and that sort of thing, early days obviously,

00:39but pleased with how things are starting to come together a little bit.

00:42Yeah, we're looking at a different formation, which is good.

00:48Picking up on that, a few different personnel changes and new ones coming in.

00:54You know, it's only been like a week and what we do and how we work.

00:59And I've been picking up on it really well.

01:02So yeah, positive signs for this stage of the pre-season.

01:06I see you managed to get quite a lot of business done early this summer,

01:09which obviously you're obviously pleasing to get people in.

01:11As you say, sort of getting them up and running right at the start of pre-season.

01:14How do you like to work things and play the game?

01:18Yeah, that's what we tend to do, try and get it done early.

01:21We managed to do that.

01:22There's a lot of players I've thought about and want to come in,

01:24but I'm happy with what I've got.

01:26We live to keep going and we've got a good weekend of us now.

01:29We live to a bit, especially next week at home.

01:33Yeah, so yeah, next week East Bournemouth Borough, National League Southside.

01:37I mean, obviously it's pre-season, but that should be a good test.

01:40Yeah, it will be a good test.

01:41You know, we've had these two games now with Cobham and Baggie.

01:45And yeah, we step up in real quality.

01:47You know, again, it's only two weeks in where we should see a little bit of improvement in fitness level.

01:52So, the temporary game should be a little quicker.

01:56Yeah, we'll see a lot more better than that.

01:58Yeah, sort of right out of the trap, sort of 4-0 at half-time.

02:01I mean, Dean, couple for Leeds and obviously Great Evans as well.

02:04And then obviously a few changes at half-time obviously planned,

02:06but sort of, yeah, message at half-time sort of going into that second half.

02:09Yeah, well, we obviously looked at a new formation in the first half

02:12and went back to our old one in the second half.

02:14And yeah, it's difficult when you're 4-0 up.

02:17The standards stay high and we've been good over the last couple of years.

02:21And then it's about, you know, there are minutes on the pitch.

02:24You know, there's no points up for grabs.

02:26It's about getting what you can out of it.

02:28And I thought for large parts of it, it was good.

02:30It maybe died off a little bit towards the end and we got a little bit sloppy.

02:33But yeah, happy with what I saw.

02:36In that second half, Sam Evans and then Ogo getting a hat-trick as well.

02:40So, you know, obviously friendly, but great for him, you know,

02:43to get hat-tricks at the early doors like that.

02:45And obviously a few attacking boys in the goals today.

02:48Yeah, it's pleasing that he's off the market.

02:50You know, like I say, you've got a hat-trick and Sam chipped in.

02:53And yeah, all the boys at the top, you know,

02:55they're giving me a headache.

02:57They're all competing and they're all fighting

02:59and they're all looking really good at this early stage.

03:02Yeah, as I say, they're all tipping in already.

03:04Obviously great and Lids and Owen as well.

03:06And that was a real strength for last season, having that sort of strength in depth

03:09sort of up top to be able to use.

03:11And looking that way already, obviously hopefully going into next season.

03:20If you can get to a hundred goals, you know, you're in with a shout

03:24and winning things.

03:25And I think we've got a hundred goals in now.

03:30I've seen Matt McKenzie, Brandon Mason, Bobby Joe Taylor sort of came on.

03:33So all, as I say, getting up and running.

03:35But yeah, sort of pleased with them all on this stage.

03:38You can see, you know, like the three you mentioned,

03:39you can see their qualities and the levels they played straight away.

03:43Yeah.

03:44They're great additions to our squad.

03:46And yeah, I think there's so much more to come from them boys.
