Cool, emphatic 3-0 win in the FA Trophy against Aerith, pleased with that this afternoon?
00:06
Yeah, I thought we controlled the game right from the start. It was fairly comfortable all the way through.
00:11
It's a shame we didn't rack up a few more, but yeah, proud of the boys today.
00:14
Yeah, it was pretty dominant throughout really. I guess I'd say the only nit-pickers could have been more, but it was pretty dominant.
00:19
Yeah, it could have been more. You know, nine up there for them to put themselves about, you know, could have hurt a couple.
00:25
But yeah, we unscathed and yeah, we're through to the next round.
00:29
Yeah, it started obviously on the front foot and then obviously eventually it comes just on the half hour there.
00:34
Lyds at the back post, volleying home. Obviously well-deserved and a good one just to get that first one there.
00:40
Yeah, it was coming. You know, we could have had a couple more before that.
00:43
And yeah, it's quick thinking over on the far side between Sam and Cooks and yeah, Lyds dispatched it well.
00:49
And then that one became two within a couple of minutes there, Daz picking out the top corner.
00:53
Yeah, great finish. That's a real good goal. Good lay-off and yeah, great finish first time.
00:59
Yeah, we've been good at that. Even in pre-season, you know, we get the first one and we go and hunt the second one real quick.
01:05
And we're doing that well at the minute.
01:07
Tuning up at half-time and well in control, presumably it was just keeping standards and more of the same, was it?
01:11
Yeah, you know, we were happy with them at half-time. It was a little bit frustrated just in the final ball,
01:18
a little bit of quality, trying to rush things. And yeah, that's the main focus.
01:22
You know, it's easy to switch off how controlled we were with the game.
01:27
But yeah, we set standards and we needed to up the quality in the second half.
01:31
And I thought the boys done that really well.
01:33
And within a couple of minutes that Jack Dean goes and wins the penalty and then Owens on the pens and he keeps sticking them away in style.
01:39
Yeah, it's a great driving run from Jacko. He was solid all game.
01:44
And yeah, he caused them all sorts of problems in the first half.
01:47
And he started the second half on the front foot and deservedly got the penalty.
01:51
And then they say Owen, yeah, stuck it away again.
01:53
Owen dispatched it. Yeah, he's confident. He wants the penalties and he's keeping hold of them.
01:57
Yeah, he put it away well.
01:58
3-0 and it could have been more really, couldn't it?
02:01
It could, yeah. It does add a chance. You know, Shade's had a chance for that.
02:04
He's come on and had a chance. The boys at Joel's had a couple of chances.
02:07
The boys that come off the bench were good again today.
02:10
They were a threat and we didn't stop until the final.
02:15
Yeah, so obviously subs came on and were a threat.
02:17
And Sam obviously come in and started and were pleased with him on his debut.
02:21
Yeah, real happy. He trained with us on Thursday. It's the first time we really get to meet the boys.
02:25
And yeah, I thought he'd done really well. He could have come away with a hat-trick in the first half.
02:30
But his runs forward has kept the ball really well. So yeah, he's fitted in straight away.
02:36
And obviously Richie's coming back as well. It's a good one to have back in the group.
02:39
Yeah, Richie. Yeah, real pleased to have him back in. We've had to shuffle a few around.
02:43
But yeah, we've got him in and obviously Richie Flanagan's close to being back and Steps is back next week.
02:50
So yeah, competition's good. And yeah, we're in a good place.
02:53
You've obviously got a free week now to look forward to Moneyfield in the league.
02:57
Obviously you get that second league game and you're going to have plenty of selection options by the sounds of it.
03:03
Yeah, we are, which is good. Everyone's got to keep pushing each other, I think.
03:07
The boys are not stupid. They're clever people. They know the pressure's on.
03:13
You've got to keep your place and you've got to perform well in training and on the games.
03:17
And yeah, they're doing that and the boys are coming back. We've got a lot of work to do.
03:20
And will it be good to get back to league action next week in Moneyfield?
03:23
It will, yeah. It's strange. We've been back almost a month and we've had one league game.
03:27
These cups are sort of getting in your way. But we've got a good September full of league games.
03:33
So yeah, we're looking forward to September.
03:36
And obviously today going through, it'll be another home tie in the next round against Blackwell Heath,
03:40
who obviously played in the FA Cup last season.
03:42
Yeah, they were two good games. We got abandoned in the first one.
03:45
In the second one, they were two real good games that stood us in good stead for the season.
03:50
And yeah, they got promoted and rightly so. That was excellent last year.
03:54
And we're expecting another good game of them.
03:56
And just build on today's performance really next week?
03:59
Yeah, build on. Just keep getting better and better.
04:01
The way we started the second half and how comfortable we were on the ball,
04:04
we won that from the start. And that comes with confidence in a run of games.
04:08
Pat didn't really have much to do but clean sheet standards.
04:11
Yeah, he got it right this week. He didn't have much to do.
04:14
He's got to be switched on a couple of times. He's come out and cleaned up,
04:18
which last week cost Steps his red card.
04:21
So yeah, he's learning. And yeah, good decision-making.
