Paul, 1-0 draw against Ascot, pretty competitive game, thoughts on that?
00:06
Yeah, it was a competitive game, but Ascot played their part in it, I thought they were good today.
00:11
We were a bit off it with the ball, but I thought it always looked like it was going to be a 1-0 game.
00:16
And then just a silly decision by Steps on the tackle, no need to do it.
00:21
And yeah, it might have cost us three points in the end.
00:25
So yeah, you got the goal right on half-time through Owen Dean, nice move and good finish there.
00:31
Yeah, it was a good move, there wasn't too much happening in the final thirds for both teams.
00:36
I think they were trying to be a threat and set pieces.
00:39
But yeah, they were comfortable on the ball, they were good with the ball, but didn't really threaten us.
00:44
Yeah, it's a little bit frustrating.
00:47
Yeah, the equaliser didn't really look like it was coming at all, did it really? At 1-0 it looked like that would be it.
00:52
Yeah, it just looked like a 1-0 game. We'll see it out, we'll pick a chance off at the end.
00:58
But yeah, I can say that it was a costly decision.
01:03
What was the message at half-time?
01:06
I just think just to get better as the game goes on.
01:09
They put a lot of effort in in the first half and you can see last ten, their legs started to go.
01:15
And it's just a matter of managing the first 15 and then being good with the last half hour.
01:20
Which almost paid off, but not quite.
01:23
So obviously the penalty was one of those, he tucks it away.
01:26
But he did create some chances then to go and win it again.
01:30
Yeah, I think they've had one blocked, a few people in the box.
01:36
But yeah, we had a great chance to win it with this, just putting it in the goal.
01:40
It hasn't quite happened and we've had to take a point.
01:44
Obviously you'd have liked all three, but you take the point.
01:47
The competitive side are having a pretty good season, aren't they?
01:50
Yeah, they're a good side.
01:51
For what we've come against so far, they're definitely going to be in and amongst it all.
01:55
Yeah, they're a good side.
01:57
Thoughts now?
01:58
We see Boxing Day, Hartley-Whitney, that'll be a big game there.
02:01
They were postponed today, but thoughts?
02:03
Yeah, just talking to the boys then.
02:05
We've got a busy period now, the three games coming up.
02:08
It's just about winning games and just finding the way.
02:11
We've been excellent at doing that.
02:14
It's been a really good season so far.
02:17
There's still a long way to go, but it's obviously going to be a real busy couple of weeks now, isn't it?
02:20
Boxing Day, Badger on May, New Year's Day.
02:22
It's a real keen period of the season.
02:24
It is, yeah.
02:25
We've got three quite fit squads now.
02:29
Dez has obviously got a start today and Jack D'Angelo's first start.
02:32
Liv's back on holiday today, so they've all got good minutes in their legs.
02:35
So yeah, squad-wise, we're in a good place.
02:38
Obviously, Rich Clay, after three years of training,
02:40
obviously, Jay Jones missed out on a couple of stitches on the side.
02:43
But yeah, after this, we're in a good place squad-wise.
02:47
Yeah, it's just sort of great and maximating really, isn't it, at the moment?
02:51
Yeah, that'd be the two long-term ones.
02:52
Hopefully, Richie and Belay will be close to returning.
02:55
Obviously, we've got Kai out of the fleet, who's doing well there.
02:59
So yeah, we can call upon a couple.
03:01
Last Saturday before Christmas, a big eight-under crowd again.
03:04
You just keep turning out and backing the football team.
03:07
Yeah, it was a good day for it today.
03:09
You know, they braved the weather just before Christmas.
03:11
Shame couldn't get those three points.
03:13
Yeah, we go again and hope they enjoy the Christmas.
03:16
Yeah, as you say, going to Christmas, top of the league.
03:18
That's a nice Christmas present for the fans.
03:20
Yeah, it's the start of the season.
03:22
If you offered us that, we'd definitely take it.
03:24
So yeah, we're the team to catch and we're fine with that.
03:28
Yeah, we keep going.
03:29
Yeah, as I say, that busy period now.
03:30
Just look to attack it and keep picking up those results.
03:33
Yeah, that's it. That's all we've got to do.
