Amazing Cleans S01E09 (24th November 2022)
Transcript
00:01In every corner of the country...
00:04I don't think it's ever been clean, to be honest.
00:06Grime and Muck are making mugs of us.
00:09It's a bit whiffy.
00:10This is well dodged.
00:11They're looking to take over, and it's time that something was done.
00:16This is rank.
00:17Just some of the things we've aimed.
00:19Toilet.
00:20That nice.
00:22Meet the fearless few...
00:24Woo!
00:25...on the front line of Fighting Phil.
00:27It's probably my favourite part of the whole job.
00:30It smells pretty rotten.
00:32Reminds me of Friday night's curry, this.
00:35They're battling bacteria.
00:37The clients ring up saying they've been sick in their car,
00:39and I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
00:41The grease is too tough.
00:43Look at that, it's beautiful.
00:45And seeing off slime...
00:47It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
00:49...with their amazing cleans.
00:53This time, a filthy yacht is rescued from a watery grave.
01:02We haven't had a boat like this one for a while.
01:05She's dirty.
01:06A swimming pool in crisis reveals its dirty secrets.
01:10So this will be the moment of truth when we open up this cover,
01:12see what we're really dealing with.
01:14I know it's pretty rotten.
01:15Yeah, it stinks me.
01:17And a literal dirt bike gets a good seeing too.
01:21Got corrosion, got grease, oil, pure road grime, which is awful.
01:30First up, let's head to the Isle of Wight for a truly titanic clean.
01:35Joining us are the boys from Richardson's Yacht Services, DJ and Big D.
01:42They might sound like a garage duo, but they actually clean boats.
01:46Rinsing.
01:48They've been cleansing the craft of the island's nautical elite for over three years,
01:53sometimes taking on up to eight a day.
01:56They tackle everything from yucky yachts and skanky schooners
02:01to gross gondolas and disgusting dinghies.
02:05If it sails, they'll scrub it.
02:08And today, they've caught themselves a whopper.
02:13This boat belongs to an old customer.
02:16It's been in the water for a fair few years now.
02:19So it's going to be pretty hanging.
02:22Five years to be exact.
02:24And while the top half looks pretty swanky,
02:26the lads are about to find out what horrors are lurking
02:29where the sun doesn't shine.
02:31Time for the big poking stick.
02:34Does that sound good?
02:36No.
02:37That's not in the hood.
02:39You can hear all the crustaceans and tube worm and...
02:43It doesn't sound pretty.
02:45You can hear the dirt.
02:48I can't really hear it, but my God, am I gagging to see it.
02:52She's going to be dirty.
02:54And that's exactly why we're here.
02:57Time to get her out the water.
02:59This calls for the giant sling.
03:05Right, so what we're going to do now,
03:06we're going to pull the boat round by ropes into the slings.
03:10We're going to grab her, make sure it's all all right.
03:12Then we'll lift her up and have a check underneath.
03:14No fancy onboard motors here, just pure hand-to-hand combat.
03:19This is one of the largest boats that we pull out.
03:22I don't need to go to the gym after work.
03:29As the boat heads skyward, DJ and Big D eyeball the muck for the first time.
03:36We haven't had a boat like this one for a while.
03:39She's dirty.
03:41You're not wrong, Dave.
03:43There's not a patch of boat left visible.
03:45This yacht is crusted.
03:47Oh, well, this is definitely one of the dirtier ones.
03:51What's in the mix, DJ?
03:53Tube worm.
03:55Slimy old seaweed.
03:59What I've got here, this is probably what we'd call a sea squirt.
04:03Clues in the name.
04:05Give it a squeeze.
04:07And it squirts out the sea.
04:09Plus whatever this is.
04:11It's wall-to-wall crustacean crud.
04:15This is, well, in the top 20.
04:19Really?
04:20It's in my top one, mate.
04:22But a charter topper like this holds no fear for our harbour heroes.
04:26Right, what we're going to start doing,
04:28we're both going to start having a scrape from the bow going towards the sun.
04:33That's right.
04:34It's man versus mollusk.
04:36And there can only be one winner.
04:38Time to get scraping.
04:40I'm loving the scraping lads, but would the pressure washer be a bit easier?
05:00These tube worm are quite well on there,
05:03and the jet wash will only take the slime out,
05:05but it won't take the hard casings.
05:07Luckily, this isn't just any old scraper.
05:11I've had this barbecue scraper about a year and a half now.
05:14A boat owner left it behind,
05:16and I thought, yeah, I like the look of that,
05:18but it's the best scraper I've ever had.
05:20I don't want to lose it.
05:21He does a mean barbecue too.
05:23Burgers, wings, it all tastes of sea squirts.
05:26It's like the Holy Grail, isn't it?
05:28The boat isn't giving up its cargo easily.
05:36It's hard going getting it off.
05:38And especially on a Monday morning.
05:40That's it, I'll be dirty for the rest of the week now.
05:43But while the tube worm is tumbling,
05:45it'll take more than a barbecue scraper to get this wrecked ship shape.
05:50We'll be back for more horrors from the deep later.
05:53Now, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
05:57That this show needs some pressure washing?
05:59Well, spoiler alert, there's going to be loads of it.
06:02There's no better gizmo for pimping your garden.
06:06Just look at the satisfaction that comes from blasting down a patio.
06:11You'll be praying for Lycan every summer just to do this.
06:15Be gone, oh sprouting invader.
06:18Imagine how jealous your neighbour will be when he realises how clean your side of the fence is compared to his.
06:25Garden furniture? Good as new.
06:28You'd be proud to park your backside on this.
06:38And for extra welly, add some steam.
06:41Seems to work for pets too.
06:47Perfect.
06:52There's more filth on the way as we turn the tide on a slimy swimming pool.
06:59It's clean up nicely.
07:00The battle algae versus chlorine.
07:02One nil chlorine.
07:03And get stuck behind a seriously rusty lorry.
07:07Give me free rain, it says do what you can.
07:09It says make it look good.
07:11Hopefully everything goes to plan today.
07:17Over to Yorkshire now and a one-man shot-blasting powerhouse Mick Blackley.
07:27If you need it stripped, just call Mick.
07:30His nozzle fires sand or crushed glass up to 125 PSI.
07:35You do not want to be on the receiving end of that.
07:39Today we'll have to do a wagging.
07:41That's the bit under a lorry, FYI.
07:43He's not a cowboy.
07:45Give me free rain, it says do what you can.
07:47It says make it look good.
07:49They've got the right man for the job.
07:51So hopefully everything goes to plan today.
07:54And I don't cause a carload of damage.
07:57Don't worry Mick.
07:59It'll still make for great telly.
08:01In the firing line, this beauty.
08:04Still sporting its original paint job from 1997.
08:09Oh well, things could only get better.
08:12Right, so today we're going to be blasting this.
08:19We're taking stuff like that off.
08:23Stuff like these here.
08:26Rusty bits.
08:27Just like my GCSE French.
08:29This thing is rusty.
08:31Oh la la.
08:33But Mick's not going to let this sucker rust in peace.
08:38First job, get the hose out.
08:41The hose plugs into the compressor.
08:44A diesel powered beast that gives Mick some serious blasting welly.
08:49No, it's not Boba Fett.
08:52Just some space age PPE.
08:54He's about to create a huge dust cloud.
08:58So make sure you don't stand downwind.
09:00Blast off!
09:04And Mick's underway.
09:06A surface this rusty needs maximum power.
09:10So Mick's using crushed glass instead of sand.
09:13He'll get through the equivalent of around 300 pint glasses every hour.
09:19Cheers!
09:20Now Mick's an independent kind of guy.
09:25But not covering the hands is risky business.
09:28Our advice?
09:29Wear gloves.
09:30Protect those mitts.
09:32In case you're wondering, he's not spraying that silver stuff on.
09:39That's the metal underneath all the rust and pain.
09:4325 years of crud.
09:45See ya!
09:50A final blast under the cab and the job is done.
09:55At the start of the day, the only thing this lorry was hauling was 25 years of rust.
10:02But thanks to Mick's lethal blasting force, this beauty is ready to keep on trucking.
10:11So let's raise an uncrushed glass to Mick and his nozzle.
10:15I'd be proud to be stuck behind this lorry on the M11.
10:19Honk honk!
10:22Back to the Isle of Wight.
10:24Where DJ and Big Dig are fighting to reclaim a yacht from the creatures of the deep.
10:30This boat is one of the filthiest they've ever encountered.
10:34This is in the top 20.
10:38So far, armed only with a barbecue scraper, the boys have forced half a decade's worth of seaweed, sea squirts and tube worm to walk the plank.
10:49Now it's time for stage two.
10:52Oh yes!
10:53Brace for impact!
10:55It's time for the pressure washer!
10:58Fire her up, Big D!
11:00Oh yes!
11:01You're for it now, you dirty, dirty boat!
11:12Those stubborn Klingons and bits of tube worm slime don't stand a chance when faced with Big D's Big Hoes.
11:21A pair of salty sea dogs like this have some amazing stories of the terrible things they've seen.
11:28We've had some proper dirty ones.
11:30I've had ones where the seaweed has started there.
11:33It's gone all the way down to the ground.
11:36We've had ones covered in mussels.
11:38So, but yeah, this is a fairly dirty one.
11:42They don't all come out like this.
11:45But the awesome firepower of Big D's pressure washer means that tube worm is now ancient history.
11:52And that makes me a happy sailor.
11:55This boat has had a thorough deworming.
12:13Just like my cat, shout out to Tiddles.
12:16And it's absolute carnage.
12:18So we've almost finished it now.
12:20What Dave's going to do now, we're going to go around the top side and just give that a rinse.
12:24Just so it looks a bit better when it's ashore.
12:27She's just a bit green and a bit, a bit manky.
12:30Yep.
12:31Now that the boat's backside is gleaming, it's time to get that top half to match.
12:36Well done Dave.
12:37Yeah.
12:38Looks nice.
12:39Better than it did anyway.
12:40Yeah.
12:41Jobs are good.
12:42Jobs are good.
12:43Three hours ago this boat was crustier than one of those hipster sourdough sandwiches that cost a tenner.
13:03But now, it's buttery smooth.
13:06It was one of the worst ones we've had in a couple of years now.
13:12100% coverage of tube worm and sea squirts, barnacles.
13:16I even found a couple of mussels under there so I got something for me lunch.
13:20And you've earned it.
13:21Thanks to you, this yacht is looking nautical and nice.
13:26Full steam ahead.
13:29I love restaurants.
13:31Great food, fine wine, sophisticated ambience and of course a load of mucky gizmos that need constant cleaning.
13:39This industrial fryer is industrially filthy.
13:43I wonder what's lurking under that dirty oil.
13:46Oh nice.
13:49Luckily the machine does most of the work for you.
13:51Boil, scrape, drain and bingo.
13:54Yeah, doesn't look much cleaner but it'll still do for my scampi.
14:00Cleaning this grill is a thrill.
14:09Ouch!
14:10I've got to decide if I love it or hate it.
14:14Turn up the heat and the muck just floats off.
14:1975% of Brits claim they never visit a restaurant with cleanliness issues.
14:24So it's good for business.
14:26And gold dust for the likes of me.
14:29Don't throw this stuff away.
14:30It's good for gravy.
14:32Michelin starred.
14:39Next, time to meet a man who never makes a mountain out of a shag pile.
14:47It's James from Mountain Rug Cleaning.
14:50The rug scrubbing boy wonder whose carpet capers are viewed by millions worldwide.
14:56Today I'm going to be cleaning quite a large synthetic rug for you.
15:00This rug is gross.
15:03It's got dog hair.
15:04It's got soil.
15:05It's got suspicious chunks of stuff that I can't identify but probably arrived via someone's shoe.
15:13I can't tell where the pattern stops and the muck starts.
15:17The first step is going to be giving it a proper good hoover to try and remove as much of the embedded pet hair from the fibers as we possibly can.
15:30Sucking up Rex's winter coat is too much for one vacuum to handle.
15:37That's right.
15:38It's a two vac sort of day.
15:41Woof.
15:46Next, James dumps the entire contents of Lake Windermere on the rug.
15:51The stench of wet dog must be overpowering now.
15:55Now we're going to be adding the fiber shampoo.
15:58I'm also going to be adding some of this oxygen booster to the mix.
16:01You're adding what now?
16:03This is really going to help remove any stains.
16:06Wow.
16:07Exciting.
16:08I might need an oxygen boost myself.
16:11Let's all calm down by watching James pour the cleaning mixture on with a watering can.
16:17Nice wellies by the way.
16:19So now that we've got the rug completely saturated, we've got our shampoo down, it's now time to start with the rotary machine.
16:28I think I prefer this pattern to the one on the rug.
16:41After working the shampoo in deep with the rotary, James uses his squeegee to drag the deep dirt out of hiding.
16:51That sound is making me feel feelings I haven't felt in years.
16:56And because there's two sides to every manky rug, James repeats the process again on the back.
17:03Also, he knows what we like.
17:09Anyone ever told you you've got a lovely pair of eyes?
17:13Do you have a sister?
17:15Now for this stage of the clean, I'm going to be using the pressure washer.
17:18Now the pressure washer works really well to part the fibres of the rug, cleaning deep down into the rug and the backing, washing out some of the finer soils that collect there.
17:31Finer soils, I'm going to call it, these are the finest soils I've ever seen.
17:39And the steps keep coming.
17:41There's more dirt to squelch with the squeegee.
17:43And the third vacuum, primy.
17:47He's got more gadgets than James Bond.
17:49The rug's fibres are tingling now.
17:52And mine are too.
17:54And there's the money shot.
17:56This rug was choked with soil, muck and more pet hair than the green room at Crufts.
18:05But after a few hours in James' strong yet sensitive hands, it shed its filthy burden and feels light as a feather.
18:14You could wrap me up in that rug and roll me down a hill any time.
18:17Next, we set sail for Northamptonshire, where two aquamen are waging war on filthy water.
18:27Nice day for it.
18:28Yeah, we've definitely got the weather through today.
18:30Outside from the sun, what a nice green pool.
18:32Yeah.
18:34Meet James and Ben.
18:36Their speciality? Swimming pools and hot tubs.
18:39When you've finished ducking, bombing and heavy petting, they take the plunge to clean up after you.
18:46So, what's your plan today, mate?
18:48Do you remember that pool that we didn't shut down last year?
18:50Yeah, vaguely.
18:51We've had a call from the customer.
18:52They want to try and get it up and running, ready for the summer.
18:54Yeah.
18:55Obviously, because we didn't shut it down, I expect it's going to be a bit of a pond.
18:58So, I don't think I'll get my morning swimming today.
19:00They've been mates since they were toddlers.
19:02So, no matter how cold the water gets, the banter stays scorching.
19:06Yeah, I think this pool's going to be greener than you are after our last night out.
19:10Keep them coming, lads.
19:11In the summer, the boys clean up to 40 pools a week.
19:15This one hasn't been cleaned for a while.
19:17So, I reckon this is going to be really green.
19:30Cripes, what a mess.
19:33There's not too much stuff on the cover.
19:34And that's just the cover.
19:37Oh, it's looking a bit green.
19:39You reckon?
19:41A big job like this needs the proper kit.
19:44Right, let's grab the big pool brush.
19:46Yep.
19:47Hole.
19:48Yep.
19:49And some bags for these leaves.
19:51But before they can discover what horrors lurk beneath, they need to tackle the pool cover.
19:56Yeah, you always get some debris.
19:57Oh, I always said it, debris.
19:58Whatever, they're the experts.
19:59Even if it's shut down well.
20:00This is one thing you can't avoid, really, is debris on top of the winter cover.
20:01And this one has not been shut down well.
20:02How do you shut down a pool, anyway?
20:03Hit the wave machine after a big lunch?
20:04Add chemicals to the pool.
20:05Add chemicals to the pool.
20:06That would obviously be long-lasting chlorine, some algaecide.
20:07Make sure your pH balance is correct.
20:08Mmm, I love it when he talks science.
20:09And then when you open it, the pool water should be sparkling.
20:26Sparkling water in a swimming pool?
20:32Ah, it'sikut me.
20:34And,
20:38swimming pool they're dead posh in Northamptonshire all right pretty smells
20:42pretty rotten yeah stinks me the lads back up the fetid foliage then it's time
20:48to pull back the cover and reveal
20:52another cover what a tease and this one's even dirtier I reckon would you
20:58quickly brush the worst of the debris off this cover
21:02then we'll give it a quick go over with the pressure washer see how it's looking
21:06it's time to get the big guns out oh yes it's the pressure washer
21:18first time
21:23while James blast the cover then tackles the stonework
21:30after a good squirt of chlorine the algae brushes clean away a river dirty algae
21:37it's a clean up nicely the battle algae versus chlorine 1-0 chlorine but that's just the half time
21:45score I'm praying it doesn't go to penalties so this will be the moment of truth when we open up this
21:51cover see what we're really dealing with we'll sink under the covers with James and Ben later
21:57coming up one man's epic battle with a manky motorbike I don't think this bike's been clean for
22:04a good couple years it may have had a wash as in the cat's lick but no actual proper degreasing of the
22:10bike and oh crumbs an oven in bits throws down a challenge for a hero in hyvers this is really really bad
22:19back to Northamptonshire with h2o heroes James and Ben they're trying to rescue a swimming pool so grim
22:34that even the algae is embarrassed to be seen in it so far they've cleaned the two covers and scrubbed the
22:40stonework but now they have to take the plunge so this will be the moment of truth when we open up
22:44this cover see what we're really dealing with that is green like really green I'm guessing it's not
22:56meant to look like that literally like sludge that sludge is pure algae and without any chlorine to hold
23:04it back it's gone absolutely gangbusters under the covers for the whole winter veterans like James and
23:12Ben have seen some terrible things in the murk found like a dead squirrel under the cover stuff like that
23:17plenty of frogs there's a boatload more leaves and debris lurking in Satan's pesto luckily the boys have the
23:24right underwater craft to slurp it out a vacuum system called the riptide the riptide yeah baby
23:30we're gonna use that to get most of these leaves out pool's gonna go cloudy pretty quickly but it's gonna allow us to get the
23:36bigger debris out this underwater vacuum does a great job of sucking up the chunky bits but it's also
23:41stirring up the murky algae so i'm having to do this totally blind now because we've disturbed the
23:46water so much we can't really see what's going on i'm just trying to get as much of these leaves out
23:50as we can luckily ben has a plan to establish some clear blue water yes this is our little test
23:56tablets makes you feel like a little scientist but there's nothing little about the all-out algae
24:02assault that ben's planning this chlorine detector gizmo will turn pink if there's any chlorine left in
24:07the pool from last year you can see basically nothing inside which what you expect a pool that
24:13hasn't been shut down this pool needs chlorine and not just any old chlorine it needs the shock chlorine
24:22and he's gonna use the whole darn tub chlorine is highly toxic and james and ben have the battle
24:30scars to prove it i think i've got a bit of chlorine on me everything you own that's black will soon end up
24:35bleached chlorine folks it's next summer's hot beach trend how do you feel that went really well
24:42yeah yeah i think it went well don't you yeah all good i've got to say lads it still looks pretty
24:48mingy pool's actually looking greener now than when we started that's because we've agitated all the dirt
24:52that's at the bottom of the pool chucked it up into suspension if the boys know their chemistry then
24:57that chlorine is about to unleash an algae massacre if they're wrong it'll really throw a bucket of cold
25:04water over everyone's summer plans and they're in for a nerve shredding seven day wait to find out
25:11see you in a week we're off to ken to hitch a lift with a hard grafting easy rider meet don proprietor of
25:21ride squeaky clean a former chef who swapped meat and potatoes for motorbikes on the menu today this beauty
25:30this bike is a classic commuter bike runs about five six days a week all weathers rain or shine
25:40any specials today chef i've got corrosion got grease oil and then i've just got some pure road grime
25:48which is awful i might just have a salad it's a bit of a minger to be honest first job a nice spray down
25:56all right
26:06then it's in with the special stuff for the chain and the sprockets we're using a degreaser so this is
26:13where all the build up of grease and lube is all featured as the degreaser gets to work
26:21dom reaches for the next ingredient this is another degreaser slightly heavier i will use it under the
26:29bike where i know that the grease is a lot lot heavier it's all about systems the same system
26:35repetition every time we do a clean that's right it's all systems go for dom after a double degreasing
26:44it's time to get hands-on and dom's brought along a mate to help the brush is your best friend
26:53it gets in all those little places
27:04oh you guys stop it that's too adorable come on it's a big job i don't think this bike's been
27:15clean for a good couple of years properly it may have had a wash as in the cat's lick uh with just
27:21a bit of soap and water but no actual proper degreasing of the bike at all for at least two years
27:26i would say but two years of caked on grime are no match for dom and his mighty misty spray thing
27:33you can actually see this the paint you know if you go inside in here you can see oh look we haven't
27:40got a black sprocket carrier anymore we're going back to factory silver hmm i gotta say dom this fiddly
27:48brushy oily stuff is all very well but where's the razzle dazzle
27:52so the next product i'm going to use in the process is snow foam okay now we're talking that
27:59dom always the showman we'll start to draw all the dirt and lift the dirt and then drag it
28:05down the bike right then snowman let's make it snow
28:09i think this warrants a super festive slow-mo
28:23ah dirty grey sludge on the pavement classic british snow that
28:29and this chopper mopper isn't done yet i can't wait to see his next move
28:34let's double the fun now from two wheels to four cleaning the car isn't just something your dad does
28:45to avoid spending time with you on a sunday they're doing it on the internet now and youtuber specky
28:51mcsporen that's his choice of username i swear i'm not being rude regularly buffs his motor for an
28:57audience of online grot lovers so here is the really dirty filthy beast
29:05luckily he's got enough snow foams degreasers brushes and mitts to degunk a grand prix
29:14meaning he can cruise the highlands in comfort and style and that's just the exterior
29:20inside our old pal johnny gets cash is there to clean up all the mess you and your disgusting
29:28family have left behind put your head between your knees and pray for forgiveness you absolute animals
29:36one in five brits rarely clean their car those losers clearly haven't experienced the joy of using
29:42a carpet comb to get dog hair out of a boot sadly automation is on the way to spoil it although
29:50i would like to have a go on this car cleaning robot thing from germany but only if i can push the
29:55buttons we've been arming some of britain's top cleaning superheroes with cameras to document their
30:03daily crud crackdowns let's cross us live to a moving vehicle heading south on the m25 hi everybody
30:11your favorite grand bosses are back what kim and agi are here just kidding it's paul and
30:17his master vendor pal kyle from forever ready where are you heading today fellas just heading down
30:22to surrey at the moment on n25 to tackle a disgusting looking oven see it's not all posh in the home
30:30counties what our aim is is to clean this oven so they look so brand new that we can almost go back
30:38to the shop and resell it oh my god i'll give you a tenner if you do what's your expert verdict paul
30:48it's enough to put you off food for life look at this look at all of them they've got their work cut
30:55out it's gonna be a challenge but a challenge like this is bread and butter for paul and kyle at least
31:01if that bread was left at gas market for six months right because we are professional of what we do
31:08exactly that's what we are about to do kyle takes the metal trays outside to work them over we're gonna
31:15spray this chemical onto the grease onto the metal trays like this he adds hot water to loosen the grot
31:23and leaves it for five minutes they say the charred bits gives extra flavor i'm not convinced why a wall time
31:42look at that is that clean or is that clean it's clean kyle lovely job meanwhile paul is preparing to
31:51to enter the void aka the oven first he vacuums out the big chunks of i don't know probably food but who
32:01can tell then he uses a chemical spray to try and break down some of the baked on crud
32:11but only one thing can be oven grease and that's elbow grease
32:16this is the absolute business and it reminds me i haven't bought a scratch card this week
32:27that's what we do it's what's been done to the oven that worries me this is really really bad
32:35but with some chemical assistance and backup from kyle they eventually see the light of day
32:45now you can't sit through the glass great now everyone can enjoy a much clearer view of the
32:49filthy interior they've cleared a whole bag of debris and there's still no end in sight
32:56there's only one thing for it they need the wire scrapey brush thing
33:03the muck seems to be spreading from the oven and taking over the whole kitchen paul is getting
33:09despondent in despondent cue the sad piano music we have to be here all day and i mean all day because
33:18we have to do it then leave it then do it again then leave because it's a lot the food is thick inside
33:29cheer up paul maybe if kyle helps and we speed the footage up you'll be finished a bit quicker
33:34it's actually working there we go teamwork one horrible other nil when paul and kyle arrived this
33:45oven was the best advert for takeaways i've ever seen but now you can eat your dinner off it and
33:51the odds of you getting seriously ill afterwards have been drastically reduced bon appetit lads
33:58let's check up on that bog in northamptonshire that james and ben were trying to turn back into
34:07a swimming pool it wasn't cleaned at the end of last summer and is now a gut-churning slurry that'll
34:15really put you off your breaststroke having scrubbed and sanitized the grotty grotto james and ben
34:23dumped a ton of chlorine in to kill off the algae now one week later james is back to see if their
34:30magic potion has had the desired effect hopefully the water's no longer green and it's starting to
34:35clear up a bit uh all the debris should have hopefully dropped to the bottom um so let's go
34:39and see how it's looking drum roll please has the chlorine cleaned up i can't look
34:45come on in the water's lovely who needs the bahamas come to northamptonshire so the water's looking nice
34:59and clear you can see loads of the debris have dropped to the bottom i'm going to start vacuuming
35:03the pool out again getting these final bit debris out the pool the dead algae has sunk to the bottom
35:10all james needs to do is give it a vacuum without stirring it all up again don't blow it now james
35:18i could watch him push that pool slurper thing around all day it's very zen
35:26once he's finished vacuuming james uses the color-changing chlorine detector to check all the
35:31levels tickety-boo bingo as the old saying goes if the water turns pink then it's safe to drink
35:39or maybe it's the other way around oh i can't remember this pool has gone from kermit swamp to blue
35:47lagoon ready for the whole family to enjoy at least until someone pees in it
35:55top work lads thanks to you it's safe to go back in the water cheers
36:00still to come bam bam we clean a van we are basically going to do a full decontamination
36:09which means a full exterior wash interior clean and i think i've trodden in something
36:16we're back in kent with dom and his two-wheeled friend this motorbike was smeared from top to
36:31bottom with road wrongness dom's already degreased the bike and cleaned it with a snow foam now he's
36:39tackling the rust with the wire wall we can now see that the majority if not all of the rust has
36:46now gone and then all we've got left is slight pitting shiny although he was a chef for decades
36:53he's loved bikes since his teens 18 months ago he hung up his apron for good to clean motorbikes full
37:01time i'm very ocd about cleaning bikes or anything in my life to be honest everything has a place
37:06everything has a purpose if it doesn't i need to understand why top chef bike wizard philosopher
37:13is there anything this man can't do another quick blast with a snow foam and it's on to the next stage
37:20we're now going to use a very very soft brush it's very very soft but what it allow us now is to start
37:24agitating in the small intricate areas
37:27and unlike the dirt i'm far from agitated i'm finding this brushwork very calming actually
37:39next up a shampoo with shampoo in the bike we use a two bucket system i always wash in circular motions
37:46and straight motions so go straight around the tank and then in circular motions around the tank after
37:56the shampoo it's time for a quick buff and the finish line is in sight for me satisfaction is the name of
38:03the game can't please everybody but i'll die trying and it would be the cleanest darn funeral ever
38:11let's get that engine purring this bike was knackered with a clogged chain grease encrusted wheels filthy
38:23sprockets and rust and corrosion everywhere but thanks to dom and his 50 shades of spray it's ready for the
38:32next adventure as for dom it's on to his next amazing clean all he needs is a pair of wheels
38:41the open road and of course two buckets two buckets and a very very soft brush
38:52let's talk shoes most of us wear at least one so you'll probably need to give them a clean from time to time
38:59and thankfully the super cleaners of social media have got you covered a sandal like this can really
39:06pay the price for your beach loving lifestyle but it's nothing that the right brushes and a bit of
39:12graft can't cure so even while you're topping up your tan they stay dazzling white marathon man you're
39:19covered as well when you've pounded your trainers into the ground trying to beat your personal best
39:24a little tlc is all it takes to get them sparkling again treat them right and who knows maybe next time
39:30they'll get you over the finish line in record time the exterior of the average shoe has 421 000
39:37units of bacteria and these puppies are showing it but no matter what you've trodden in you can still
39:43wind the clock back to a time before you put your disgusting feet in them all you need to do is step up
39:49to the challenge next stop west sussex to meet a man with a plan for a van my name's luke i work for
39:57luke harvey detailing well that's a coincidence and for luke the devil really is in the detailing today
40:04we have a ford transit custom it's a road surfacing vehicle this van is used by a company that lays
40:11driveways i'm sure they keep it clean and tidy right oh you mucky pups we are basically going to do
40:19a full decontamination which means a full exterior wash interior clean and we're also going to
40:25take some of the fallout and tar contaminants off of the exterior paintwork yep leave it to luke to
40:31deal with the fallout it's only been three months since luke last cleaned this van so he knows enough
40:38to crack straight on now we've got to get on to uh the fallout of the wheels fallout is the technical
40:44term for iron deposits from the air road or brake dust pay attention for the science
40:49this is basically a chemical uh which removes all the fallout contaminants break contaminants
40:54on the wheels wait for it and that's the fallout remover reacting with the iron oh my god yum i love
41:03raspberry ripple and anything that looks like it just about snow foam the vehicle now he shifts more
41:08dirt with our old friend the snow foam leave it to dwell for sort of five minutes um just whilst it
41:14eats into uh some of the dirt and lifts it off of the paint i could dwell here for a lot longer than
41:23five minutes listening to the sound of that snow foam mmm squelchy luke gives the snow foam a helping
41:30hand around the wheels and window arches so yeah now it's time to rinse all this off
41:35snow's over folks move on to the contact stage uh which is a two bucket method with grit catchers the
41:47two bucket method is sweeping the nation it's the newback arena basically all of the dirt and grit
41:53off the car doesn't go back onto the car he's a detailer with an eye for the details let's make contact
42:00then that van is coming up a treat we're now going to rinse all of that off a quick blast with a hose
42:09and we're nearly there now we've just got to dry it off um we use these specific drying towels
42:20aren't most towels drying towels whatever it's definitely doing the trick
42:25now we're going to get on with the interior we're just going to agitate um all the floor basically
42:34and lift that dirt luke gives the van's interiors a thorough going over with the vacuum brush
42:42and an all-purpose cleaner so now we move on to the seat that's the bit the builders bums touch fyi
42:50the seats get a really good spray followed by a scrub that's the sound of a man putting his back
42:58into it i love it a good slurp with the wet vac leaves everything spick and span and i really
43:06appreciate these precision stripes luke normally what we do is we open the windows just a jar so
43:12it lets some of the condensation out as the seats are drying and the van's done all it needs now is an
43:17air freshener and a nodding dog luke's put in a real shift today the worst thing about today's job was
43:25getting the tar off every single panel and every single crack and crevice because it was literally
43:30everywhere but you've done a bang up job
43:37good as new and even i'd be happy to sit in that interior my customer will be more than happy
43:43um with the job that i've done and i've been more than happy to watch it good work luke you really
43:50are the man who can clean a van join us next time for more delectable cleans a pub floor's got big
43:59problems next stage now is to extract all the muck from the floor essentially it will be like a brand new
44:06floor again a crud covered car is transformed honestly i thought it would just be like you know
44:13yeah like the odd sweet wrapper and a grade two building gets a grade eight glow up the best way
44:19is probably the traditional way of just getting up there and and chipping away at it
44:36so
44:52you
