Amazing Cleans S01E06 (3rd November 2022)
Transcript
00:00In every corner of the country...
00:03I don't think it's ever been clean, to be honest.
00:05...grime and muck are making mugs of us.
00:08It's a bit whiffy.
00:09This is world dodge.
00:11They're looking to take over, and it's time that something was done.
00:15This is rank.
00:17Just some of the things we've aimed.
00:19Toilet.
00:20That's nice.
00:21Meet the fearless few...
00:23Woo!
00:24...on the front line of fighting filth.
00:27It's probably my favourite part of the whole show.
00:29Good job!
00:30It smells pretty rotten.
00:32Reminds me of Friday night's curry, this.
00:35The battling bacteria.
00:37Appliance ring up saying they've been sick in their car,
00:39and I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
00:41The grease is too tough.
00:43Look at that. Beautiful.
00:45And seeing off slime.
00:47It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
00:49With their amazing cleans.
00:54Amazing cleans.
00:57This time, boats get blasted.
01:00These little buggers, they're called sea squirts.
01:02They give you a little squirt.
01:04Woo!
01:06Moss gets mangled.
01:08It's been about 30 years worth of dirt on top of that.
01:12And cruddy carpets get glam.
01:15This is the colour of what I'm selling across the moss carpets.
01:18A town from above.
01:21Our first stops Northamptonshire to join sultans of steam and pressure washing, Sean and Andy, who make up above and beyond.
01:33Where are we off to today, then?
01:34To East Hunsbury.
01:35Yeah.
01:36And we're going to go and clean a roof.
01:38What's it looking like?
01:39It's looking pretty filthy.
01:41It's covered in moss.
01:42The tiles of a garage roof that's covered in green moss.
01:49This mass moss outbreak is going to require the big guns in the form of a steam powered cleaner, a turbo hose and a dosatron to deliver a biocide blow.
02:04The jungle.
02:05The jungle is a carpet of moss on there.
02:08They arrive at the property.
02:11OK.
02:12What do you think?
02:13It's pretty dirty, right?
02:14So, I don't think it's ever been cleaned, to be honest.
02:19So, we're looking at about 30 years worth of dirt on top of there.
02:23The contrast is going to be amazing.
02:25It's going to look good.
02:26Mate, Sean and Andy have worked together for just over a year.
02:32Started off as a traditional window cleaner about 10 years ago.
02:36I decided I wanted to start my own exterior cleaning business.
02:40And it just went from there, really.
02:42And it's just grown.
02:43This pair aren't afraid to get their fingers filthy in the name of work.
02:48Part of the job that gets me going is anything dirty.
02:51Because I really enjoy cleaning dirty things.
02:54Getting up in the morning and getting into a work band with Sean.
02:58Greatest window cleaner in the known universe, obviously.
03:01Someone wants a raise.
03:03First job's to overwhelm the opposition.
03:07Plug it into a boiler and it's going to turn it up to 120 degrees.
03:11Because, obviously, heat's more effective when you're cleaning.
03:15And the lads are turning up the heat on their power washer to create steam.
03:20A bit high.
03:22I got it.
03:23Yeah?
03:24Well, there's a knack to it, really.
03:29Once you hit the foot sugar and the pressure comes out, it will start hovering.
03:35So you can kind of balance it.
03:37If you get the balance right, it's pretty easy.
03:41And stage one of the grotty garage clean is go.
03:45Woo!
03:47The head of the cleaner resembles that of a shower and hovers above the roof tiles.
03:53Yeah!
03:54Mosspocalypse!
03:56Chunks of moss fly off.
04:00Whoa!
04:01Let's slow things down a touch.
04:06Sean says what Andy's using is a flat surface cleaner on the end of a water-fed pole.
04:13So Andy's using a flat surface cleaner on the end of a water-fed pole.
04:18Whatever it is, it does it for me.
04:20While Andy is making the moss fly, it's Sean's job to remove the grot from the gutters.
04:28Andy says this is a telescopic vacuum cleaner, basically a hoover.
04:33When we do gutter clearing, that will reach 45 feet so we can clear gutters super high.
04:42Andy sucks the moss out of the gutter.
04:45Keep on moss wrangling, lads.
04:54We're heading inside for some of the filthiest, stickiest, crustiest carpets in the country.
05:02A series of dirty rugs.
05:08After two years underfoot, the average rug can hold four times its weight in muck.
05:13Oh, look at that slick of shame.
05:19Carpets being cleaned.
05:22Your favourite soft furnishings harbour a witch's brew of baddies.
05:27Hubba bubble, there goes eye of insect, nail of toe, skin of human, flea and bodily fluids.
05:35A sofa being cleaned, then a child's rug.
05:40Another rug with a religious theme, then one with a blue and grey wavy stripe.
05:45Green upholstery is wiped and each of the items are as good as new.
05:48Hallelujah!
05:51A bucket of dirty water.
05:57And there's plenty more where that came from.
06:02Find out what car specialist David is cooking up.
06:04These wheels have got more cracks in Gordon Ramsay's forehead.
06:08And we set sail with boat cleaners, the D Team.
06:12Some people value their boats more than their children.
06:15So, you know, it's like picking up their kids.
06:16We're back in Northamptonshire with passionate power washers Sean and Andy.
06:34I love it, man. If you ask my other half, she'll say you're constantly looking at jet washing staff or window cleaning staff and she hates it.
06:44But, yeah, I love it.
06:46Woo!
06:48Don't worry, Sean, you're not the only one.
06:53Now, that's good.
06:55Go on, one more time for luck.
06:58Now that really does hit the spot.
07:08Do you want to put the turbo on the end?
07:11Oh, the turbo nozzles coming out now.
07:14Moss, prepare to be mangled.
07:17This is a turbo nozzle.
07:19This will just spin so we can rinse it down.
07:22Moss is one of the fastest growing plants known to man.
07:30Teeny seeds called spores fly on the wind in search of dark, damp crevices.
07:38Once they take hold, there's no stopping it.
07:42We could have gone straight in with this because there's so much moss.
07:46I kind of wanted to contain it in the surface cleaner so it didn't go everywhere.
07:51Now we've loosened it up and brought most of the moss down.
07:54We're just going to sort of rinse it down with the turbo nozzle.
07:57Any sort of niggly little bits we'll get with that.
08:04Steam drifts up from the hose.
08:07So this roof was tough.
08:09The moss was just super thick and it was, yeah, it was a lot of moss on there.
08:14The battle at the back may be over.
08:17Yeah, super satisfying job.
08:19Hey, Andrew?
08:20Yeah, lovely.
08:21It's come up nice.
08:23But it's time to go again, boys.
08:25And now, Commander Sean's wielding the power washer.
08:31The washer head runs along the peak of the roof.
08:36You GoPro washers.
08:37Just the last little bits left to get now, they're normally the hardest bits.
08:47Andy uses the turbo nozzle.
08:49While Andy and Sean keep it steamy on the roof, there are a whole host of cleaning pros who stream their successes online.
09:06And we've recruited car specialist David.
09:10You know those lads who hang around outside the car wash?
09:14He's like a posh one of them.
09:16So I've been doing this business now for well over 15 years.
09:19We've had clients ring up saying they've been sick in their car while their dog's had diarrhoea.
09:24We even had one woman ring up saying that she'd given birth on that morning.
09:27And I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
09:30And he only takes on the rankest cars.
09:34Oh, boy.
09:36Metropolitan elites.
09:38This is what a 4x4 looks like when it's not taking your curiously named children to school.
09:44So, this is the first car that I'm going to be working on.
09:47And this is a Land Rover Discovery.
09:49And speaking of discoveries, I've realised that I'm standing in the middle of a dog poo minefield.
09:53So let's go take a look inside the car and fingers crossed, I don't discover any more hidden nasties.
10:00And boy has Fido's field of filth scarred this car.
10:06The wheels and rims are minging.
10:10There's scum up the chassis.
10:13And inside, oh crumbs, that takes the dog biscuit.
10:18The first thing I want to do is tackle the wheels, the arches and the tyres.
10:21So instead of standing there for hours on end with a pressure washer getting nowhere, what we're going to do is apply a pre-wash.
10:28So basically what that chemical is going to do, it's going to eat into the dirt and it's going to take away all the hard work.
10:34Which for people like me, that's a good thing.
10:37Come on, David. You know you love it.
10:39I've got to be very careful now because, as you can probably see here if you look close, these wheels have got more cracks in Gordon Ramsay's forehead.
10:48He's here all week, folks.
10:49So this is the bit you've all come to see, the snow foam section.
10:52And basically what we're going to do is, we're going to cover the entire car in a load of thick, frothy foam.
10:58And basically what it's going to do is, it's going to break down some of that dirt.
11:01So when it comes to doing the contact wash, we're going to reduce the chances of actually causing any scratches.
11:07Ooh, cue the dreamy music. That foam is itching a cleaning scratch I could have reached.
11:18Talking of scratches, now the snow foam has lifted the gritty bits from the paintwork, David can get hands on.
11:28He uses the pressure washer to remove the rest of the snow foam.
11:32Sud strip down the side of the 4x4.
11:41Dog poo.
11:43Blimey!
11:44What have you been feeding these dogs?
11:46King prawn Jalfrezi?
11:53We're going to get cracking on the inside and then we're going to finish it off with a polish or a spray wax at the very end.
12:00The vacuum's powered up.
12:02He vacuums the inside of the car.
12:09And it's on with the interior detail spray.
12:14He uses a brush to paint it in.
12:19Looking good, it smells good.
12:21Everything's coming up roses with this car at the minute.
12:24The seats are wiped down, then the centre console is sprayed.
12:32Now that the inside's gleaming, time for a final polish of the chassis.
12:37And even the tyres are getting the love.
12:38Ah yes, look at this.
12:39The car before and after.
12:40You could eat your dinner off that.
12:43So long as you don't mind minor intestinal damage.
12:44Beautiful, beautiful.
12:45Trodding dog poo.
12:46A crime scene cleaning hack.
13:17It's on with the finest cleaners.
13:18Grease.
13:19Prepare to get got.
13:20Scrape your hob with the force of a demonic dental hygienist.
13:21Grime won't live long or prosper when there's a Klingon film invasion.
13:24A baking tray being scraped.
13:39What is that?
13:45Cooker snot?
13:47It's not any more.
13:49For stainless steel, white vinegar's your friend
13:53And if you have protein spill like milk, egg or gravy
13:58Give biological laundry detergent a spin
14:01Then make your cooker buffer than an Essex bodybuilder
14:07Prepping for mobs
14:08Back in Northamptonshire
14:14And the garage to gunking is almost complete
14:17Now Sean and Andy are taking it to the floor
14:21We're going to clean the driveway
14:22And then once we clean the driveway
14:25We're going to soft wash the roof and the driveway
14:28Because there's quite a lot of moss in it
14:30We're going to hit it with a turbo nozzle
14:32Moss and lichen, you are about to get licked
14:37That turbo steaming through the unauthorised vegetation
14:45Parked on the driveway
14:47Get that moss flying
14:51Steam rises up from the ground
14:55Will you look at that?
14:59Beneath the sludge flies two-tone brickwork
15:02Snazzy
15:03It's a patio version of a glow-up
15:12Dirty water drains away
15:16And Andy lifts the spray of the power nozzle
15:18At the front wall
15:20Even the house is being treated to a touch of the turbo
15:26Well, this all looks wonderfully weed-free
15:31And Sean has a plan to keep it that way
15:35Finished the driveway and now we're going to soft wash the roof
15:39So we're going to put these cat-free chemical suits on
15:43And then we're going to apply our soft wash solution to the roof
15:47And the driveway as well
15:49Is the Dosatron set up out the back?
15:51The what now?
15:53The Dosatron
15:54To the untrained eye, this may look like a grey stacking box
15:59But this offers accurately dosed biocide
16:03So that will dose the right amount of chemical for the soft wash
16:07Ooh, very precise
16:09But as chemicals go, soft wash doesn't sound that hardcore
16:13It's quite dangerous stuff
16:14I stand corrected
16:16So if you get it on your skin, it's going to burn
16:18And if it stays on your skin, it's just going to burn continuously, basically
16:23Ooh, this is serious stuff
16:25Better get those biohazard suits on, boys
16:28And prepare for the final phase of green gunk annihilation
16:33Is that water gone, yeah?
16:35Andy, you're going to need to translate
16:37Water on
16:38Yeah, is it on?
16:39Should be
16:39Unless you turned it off
16:41I turned it off
16:42I'll turn it on
16:43And he gently runs the brush over the tiles
16:47With the power turned down to prevent splashback
16:55This soft wash solution can stop weeds and moss growing back for up to five years
17:01Done
17:07Before covered in moss
17:11At the end of the day of Triffid Clearing
17:16Sean and Andy have emerged victorious
17:20The clean tiles
17:23Good job that was, eh?
17:25Our customer's going to be over the moon, right?
17:28That came up all right, yeah
17:29Sweet
17:30Happy days
17:31The garage with its moss-free roof
17:41Our next stop is the Isle of Wight
17:44To meet the special forces who take on marine cleans
17:48Tackling monsters of the deep on the daily
17:51A DJ and Big D
17:54We're called the D-team because we're the two Daves
17:56And it's always better being in the D-team than the A-team
17:59No-one wants to be in the A-team
18:00Nah, Dave
18:01I pity the fools
18:03Boats may be a luxury owned by a few
18:06But there are plenty floating around this part of the world
18:09In an average day we can do about four or five
18:12On a really good day we can do eight
18:15Maybe nine
18:16Yeah, maybe nine
18:17Their high-speed schedule relies on their customers reading the tides
18:22And their next job has found itself up the creek
18:26Not quite enough water for the depth of his keel
18:30So he's stuck in the mud
18:31I don't think he's moving much at the moment
18:33A stuck-in-the-mud boat won't throw the determined D-team off their flow
18:38While they wait, they're vanquishing marine scum from a yacht already on the dock
18:45Some people value their boats more than their children
18:52So, you know, it's like picking up their kids
18:54Yeah, but I don't think they blast them in the face with a pressure washer
18:58Look at Big D apply the pressure to the pointy end
19:04Old Brownbeard is taking a battering down on the thinny thing
19:10Wonder if that stops it keeling over
19:12Boat joke for you there
19:15The boat is moved on a trailer
19:19That's one boat cleaned and ready to motor back to the water
19:25But what about our old friend?
19:28The good ship stuck in the mud
19:29That's our boat out there that we're waiting for
19:32We're hoping that it's going to be nice and dirty
19:34Barnacles, tube worm, sea squirts
19:37You'll see how far his keel got stuck in the riverbed
19:40And he'll have a nice layer of river mud
19:42The D team can only assess the damage once the boat is lifted out of the water
19:47So every job is a surprise
19:49And not always a good one
19:52I've seen some humdingers
19:53I've seen ones that have got seaweed
19:55That is as tall as me
19:57I don't like it when eels get stuck up in the bottom of boats
20:02Like sometimes they might be hiding in a little crevice
20:06Or when a keel comes down
20:08You might be washing a boat
20:09I've had one wrapped round my shoulders before
20:11I really don't like that
20:13I don't like anything
20:14Wrigley, Snapes or anything like that
20:16So yeah, I really don't like the eels
20:18I don't blame you, DJ
20:20Thankfully, the good ship stuck in the mud
20:22Has wriggled free
20:23And is making its way through the locks to the marina
20:26They shouldn't really sound like that
20:28Come on
20:33Come the way you are, sir
20:37Starboard side two
20:38We'll catch your lines
20:40Time to park this boat
20:43Do you park a boat?
20:45OK, sir
20:46If you want to shut your engine down
20:48To lift the boat onto dry land
20:52They're using a slingy thing
20:54This is our main tool for the day
20:56This is what we use to lift everything up
20:58Lift up to 50 tonnes
20:59And about 70, 80 feet
21:02It's not too bad
21:08Finally
21:09It's time to see what monsters lurk beneath
21:14Tube worm
21:17Long dangling strips
21:19Sea squirts
21:22Seaweed-like clusters in a muddy ooze
21:26Find out if the D-team sink or swim in their battle later
21:36Also coming up
21:39Teen cleaning sensations are on their way
21:43Oh, my days
21:45Look at this
21:46And one grime-fighting power couple
21:49Are you going to turn me on?
21:50I will turn you on, my love
21:51Keep it clean, kids
21:53Our next stop on our grime-fighting adventure
22:06Is Manchester
22:08So this is this little lever one today
22:11No worries
22:13To meet dynamic, dirt-slaying duo
22:16Stephen Palm
22:18Whilst they've been a couple for 25 years
22:22They've only worked together for three
22:25I'm a truck driver by trade
22:27I was having dizzy spells
22:28So as soon as I told my worker I had dizzy spells
22:31I lost my licence for a year
22:32We had to do something different
22:34We thought, sod it
22:35Let's go try a bit of jet washing
22:38Try it out, see how it works
22:39Yeah
22:40And it's just slowly got bigger and bigger and bigger
22:44And since this one's come on board with us
22:46It's just, we've taken off
22:48We've got a bit mad, haven't we?
22:48Yeah
22:49Everybody needs a pan
22:50And I've got a pan
22:52Aw, you guys
22:54Anywho, they're off to Bolton for today's job
22:57For a first-time client
22:59Patio, driveway
23:00All the way round, basically
23:03And it hasn't been done for years
23:05So it's black
23:06So, my darling, you've made my butties today
23:09What have we got in them?
23:11We've got
23:11Shopping
23:14Shopping the rice today, innit?
23:15So we've got nothing in the fridge
23:16So are we on cheese again?
23:18Cheese and salad cream
23:19Oh well
23:21At least we've got food
23:22Hope the horror that awaits doesn't ruin your appetite
23:26They may be in Bolton
23:28But there's a touch of moss-eye to those slabs
23:31The wall
23:32What are they all doing as well?
23:34That'll come out well, yeah
23:34Pots
23:35Yeah, sorry
23:36Modes of pots
23:37Time for the power clean
23:41With the flat surface cleaner
23:45Or FSC
23:48It's absolutely brilliant for this sort of process
23:52Looks like a frisbee on wheels to me
23:54But I'm no expert
23:55This spins at a high rate of knots
23:58Squirting high-pressure water onto the ground
24:00It's one of the best bits of kit we own
24:02We use this as much as possible, don't we?
24:05We do
24:05Are you going to turn me on?
24:08I will turn you on, my love
24:09Steady
24:10Now Steve fires up the generator
24:13And the squirty frisbee thing is go!
24:19It immediately leaves a clean patch behind
24:22Look at that squirty frisbee cleaner
24:25Mints that moss
24:27With our pam-cam
24:33We can see the drab slabs start to transform
24:36She lets it glide across the garden slabs
24:40Impressive start
24:47But even the squirty frisbee cleaner has its limitations
24:51From this big here, Anthony, see
24:53Now
24:54We've got like the build-up of glycee and black spot
24:57And what have you
24:58That the jets are removing the surface
25:00But they remain
25:01Our aim is to get all of that up as well
25:03To tackle the moss, black spot and lichen
25:07It's over to Steve for some chemical warfare
25:10Predominantly a chemical called sodium hypochlorite
25:13Which is what bleach makes bleach
25:15All the best jet washing in the world
25:17You won't get rid of all the black spot
25:19It makes it look fresher and cleaner for longer
25:22While Pam and Steve crack on with the weed-killing chemical
25:26In South London, a pair of kick-ass teen cleaners with cameras
25:33Have received a call for help
25:35Hi, I'm Mackay, founder of Avonboy
25:37And this is my trusty assistant, Ashton
25:39Nice to meet you
25:40Yungun Mackay set up the business a year ago
25:43With Ashton joining in the last few months
25:46No jobs are too hard
25:48We leave all our customers
25:50Feeling like they have a brand new oven
25:51No grease is too tough
25:53No oven's too dirty
25:55We've been given the chance to clean
25:58A very dirty oven
25:59Should take about two to three hours
26:02I feel like it's going to be a bit of a hard job
26:04But I think we can get it done
26:06Avonboy
26:06Avonboy, that's what we do
26:08They're giving us the clean in teen's eye view
26:11Of today's job
26:12Oh my days
26:15Look at this
26:16I've got a name for that
26:18Hashtag tray of trauma
26:20Look at this
26:23And that
26:25Rack of ruin
26:27No messing
26:30Let's get on with the clean
26:32Why a wool
26:34Look at that
26:36Beautiful
26:37Beautiful
26:38Absolutely beautiful, isn't it?
26:40It's beautiful, right?
26:41Absolutely beautiful
26:41Sigh in already
26:43It's like a degrease
26:46I'll get rid of
26:47All the grease
26:48Just get it sprayed everywhere
26:51Every single crook, cranny
26:53Then plop on pink putty
26:57Any abrasive cleaner will do
27:00You saw that?
27:04Yeah, that is not good
27:05Once we're done with this
27:07It was smelling like roses, mate
27:08Look how brown it is
27:13All that build-up
27:14Ponging
27:16Absolutely ponging
27:17Meanwhile
27:19If you could see his face
27:22You'd know that Ashton's transformed the shelf of shame
27:26And now he's lending his hands to the tray of trauma
27:31This is done
27:33The best feeling
27:35Back to the oven door
27:40You ready?
27:43Mackay, you've worked a mucky miracle
27:45Look at the difference
27:48As you see through the glass now
27:50Oven
27:51Coming along nicely
27:53All that dirt that was now there
27:56Is now
27:56Gone
27:57Oven is now done
28:00We have shiny trays
28:02Anything is shiny
28:04Shiny glass
28:05Job well done
28:06Job well done
28:08That's what I like to see
28:10Happy boat races
28:11Speaking of boats
28:13Back on the Isle of Wight
28:16The D-team haven't got a lot to smile about
28:19They're sizing up their filthy opposition
28:22On their big job of the day
28:24The yacht that was stuck up the creek
28:27See there, that's how far he was stuck in the mud
28:30That line there
28:32This is my trusty barbecue scraper
28:34Which is one of the best things for getting everything off
28:37Very technical
28:38Suppose it's good for snags
28:40But what about sea monsters?
28:41A bit of growth there
28:43It's squirting me then
28:45These little buggers here
28:47They're called sea squirts
28:49And the reason for that
28:50Is if you squirt them
28:52They give you a little squirt
28:54There you go
28:55We have got to see that again
28:58They give you a little squirt
29:02There you go
29:03And then there's some more of them
29:06Like an udder
29:07Bet you wouldn't want that squirting on your cornflakes
29:09And they're not the only critters
29:12About to be defeated
29:13A little bit of tube worm
29:15Sometimes boats can be completely covered in the tube worm
29:18So there'll be a little tiny worm
29:20That lives inside of that
29:21Like a snail
29:22Makes like the outer shell
29:24Like the calcium outer shell
29:25And there'll be a little worm in there
29:27Or poke out
29:28After they've given it the once over
29:32With the barbecue scraper
29:33It's on with the power washing
29:36The jet wash will normally get most of the bits off
29:38Some of the crustaceans won't come off
29:40Enough chat
29:41Power up
29:42The power washer jet reveals a vibrant red paint job
29:48Beneath the muddy grime
29:50Black boat beard be gone
29:57Now they're motoring
30:01Couldn't you just watch this all day
30:04More grime is removed
30:08This deserves some dramatic slow-mo
30:14The power spray hits the underside of the boat
30:18And the dirt is taken away with the water runoff
30:21DJ gives a few more blasts
30:27Then turns off his washer
30:29That's our done
30:38Yeah, it's come off all right
30:40Quite pleased with that
30:41Yeah
30:42Well, you look at that finny-keely thing
30:47It's cleaned up a treat
30:49And in the bottom of the boat
30:52The brown line has changed into the red one
30:55Which is normally only possible at Oxford Circus
30:58That one's come out really well
31:00Dave did a good job, as always
31:01That's what I like to call ship shape
31:07D-team, take an A-star
31:09Anyone for tennis?
31:13Ugh, not when you risk scarring your whites on that filthy court
31:18Come on, take it to the baseline
31:21A bright green surface is revealed when the circular floor washer moves over it
31:27Serving up a beautiful spin
31:33That's power cleaners 30
31:35Grime love
31:36Now to eliminate the algae
31:40Not a plant, but a cyanobacteria
31:43Stay in school, kids
31:45Bricks are revealed then a step is cleaned
31:49Both using a pressure washer
31:51Next, someone wearing white wellies using a pressure washer on a concrete wall
32:00That's covered in very dark green moss and lichen
32:03In speeded up footage, the power jet removes the green covering
32:11Back on centre court for the final moments
32:18Power washers
32:20Game, set and match
32:22That was edge of the seat stuff
32:26And our next cleaner with a camera is an expert in soggy bottoms
32:31In crud-covered kiddie seats
32:36Cleaning buggies, prams and seats started as a hobby for young mum Jamie Lee
32:42But it's become a baby booming business
32:45Today we've received this gorgeous car seat
32:48Unfortunately, the customer has had the car seat stored inside of a garage for around a year
32:53Now, as you can see, it has got quite a lot of mold growth throughout the seat
32:58We're going to completely strip down this seat unit
33:01We're going to sanitise
33:02We're going to clean
33:03And we're also going to treat all of this mold
33:06We should be able to get this looking brand new
33:08So let's see how we can get it looking
33:10So first of all, we're just going to remove all of these straps
33:14What we're going to do now is we're just going to brush down all of the seat unit
33:23To make sure that we've got rid of any types of food
33:27Or any types of spores that have gotten inside
33:32Get all of that food out
33:34So a little steam
33:36See that? Amazing
33:40She uses the steam on all of the plastic frame
33:48Amazing
33:53What we're going to do now is we're just going to brush down all of the materials
33:57Get rid of all the mold spores
33:59And any dust
34:02Wearing gloves, she works at the fabric with a brush
34:06Slices of lemon
34:12Next, Jamie Lee gives the seats a scented soak to remove moldy odours
34:19What we'll do is use a mixture of lemon juice, salt and vinegar to treat these areas
34:25Now it's time for a scrub
34:30With a detergent suitable for sensitive baby skin
34:34Then it's bath time
34:37The covering is placed into the liquid
34:42It'd be easy to throw the baby seat out with the bath water when it's that murky
34:48Now that all of our materials are dried and ready to be reassembled onto the unit
34:55She slips the cleaned cover onto the frame before running a lint roller over it
35:01Let's remind ourselves of the kiddy crud when Jamie Lee started
35:07The black chair was caked with mold
35:11Any stains and muck that was built up on the materials have been removed
35:20It's looking amazing
35:22Job well done, Jamie Lee
35:25Coming up, Glasgow's Carpet Kings
35:31Let's see when we go in if the muck really does stop here
35:34And bang-tidy work from Steve
35:39The clean-up could take just as long as doing the actual work
35:52Our last stop on our amazing cleans odyssey is Glasgow
35:57We're joining our carpet cleaners with cameras, Mike and Pete
36:02Who've been mates since school
36:03These guys can do up to five jobs a day
36:08And they don't mess around getting the kit out
36:11So that's the van unloaded
36:13So we've got our machine and our carpet cleaning wand
36:16Our buckets and sprayers
36:18Our agitator
36:20And our industrial vacuum
36:22Good luck against that luck
36:24Oh, forces of dirt darkness
36:26Time to check out the job ahead
36:29Let's see when we go in if the muck really does stop here
36:32Spoiler alert
36:33It doesn't
36:34That sofa stain's going to be a challenge
36:37This room looks like it's got a good few marks
36:40What Michael's doing here is he's just checking to see
36:42What the types of stains that we're going to be faced with
36:45Some really bad staining around this area
36:47Just some of the things we find
36:49Pete's starting with a pre-vacuum
36:52If you just move the camera up, Mike
36:56We might just see Pete's face
36:58Basically, if he doesn't vacuum this carpet
37:00Then all the stuff that you can see in that carpet
37:03It will basically just turn to mud as he cleans it
37:07Oh, never mind
37:08This is an industrial vacuum
37:11It's a lot more powerful and a lot heavier
37:13Than your standard vacuum you use domestically
37:16Now, Mike gives it a quick spray to break down the dirt
37:20Nice camera work, Pete
37:22And it's time for the fancy set of scrubbing brushes
37:26AKA
37:28The agitator
37:30These brushes work in opposite directions
37:33What this helps to do is it helps to work in the pre-spree into the carpet
37:36But also lift the pile of the carpet
37:38While Mike agitates
37:44The hands belonging to Pete
37:46Mix the cleaning chemicals
37:47And set up the machine
37:49Now for the good part
37:52Clean the carpet
37:54Three buttons are pressed on the machine
37:58And a dial is turned
37:59Next, Pete slowly runs the cleaner
38:02Over the cream-coloured carpet
38:04These guys truly suck at their job
38:14Which in this line of work
38:17Is a good thing
38:18The carpet is much lighter
38:20On the patches that have been worked on
38:22Time to dish the dirt
38:26A square inch of carpet
38:29Could contain
38:30200,000 bacteria
38:33But not when you've got Mike and Pete on the case
38:39Moving the cleaner over a section of carpet
38:43Moving the cleaner over a section of carpet in the living room
38:44Then the hallway before and after
38:47Clear footprints and patches of dark grime
38:53Then the bright light-coloured carpet without a mark
38:56The bedroom, then living room carpets
39:01Before and after
39:02Both as if new
39:04I'll give you 40 quid if you're down that in one
39:15Water is definitely not advised
39:19For our next set of satisfying cleans
39:21Someone needs their ears syringed
39:24You don't want to reach for that toothbrush by mistake
39:30Or that one
39:31Earphones, a keyboard and a laptop
39:35All being cleaned
39:37Your keyboard and smartphone
39:41Could have three times more bacteria on
39:44Than a public loo
39:45You wouldn't press one of those against your face, would you?
39:48That reminds me
39:49I must add sanitiser to my shopping list
39:52Speeded up footage of the letter keys
39:57Speaker holes being put back onto the keyboard
40:02Speaker holes being cleaned with a sharp tool
40:04Then a laptop being buffed
40:06Clean earphones, then a city from above
40:12Back to Bolton
40:17Where Pam and Steve's weed-killing wash
40:20Has done its thing
40:21Don't you just love the smell of bleach in the morning?
40:27Yeah, you're an A-Pam
40:28I'm not very good with smells
40:31So anything that's sort of quite potent in smells
40:34I'm like
40:35As I'm trying to do it
40:37But that's about it really
40:39There's nothing else
40:40No, we've done most things
40:42I don't do poo
40:43We have done
40:47But I don't know
40:49Never mind
40:51As long as you don't give your skivvy the shoddy jobs
40:54Steve's the boss
40:56And I just do as I'm told
40:57As long as he remembers when we walk through the front door
41:00I'm the boss
41:01I'm the boss
41:01Pam's taking the lead on power washing the patio
41:05Now it's boss man Steve's turn
41:08And he's giving it some with his turbo hose
41:12Pam's a lucky woman
41:14He aims the washer along the edge of a wall
41:17This bit of kit's also known as a lance
41:22For good reason
41:23Spitting out water at a pressure of up to £4,000 per square inch
41:29It can penetrate all layers of skin
41:32It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it
41:35The slabs from above
41:38That is so satisfying
41:42Next Pam is working on a section of brick wall
41:47Revealing the redness as she blasts off the black
41:50I knew Pam wouldn't be able to keep her hands off Steve's turbo hose
41:56This turbo
42:00Because it is as powerful as it is
42:03You'll see I went a bit slower where the wood line is
42:07The whole point behind that is it'll chew the wood
42:09So it's just to try and keep the turbo away
42:12And I've got a plant to contend with
42:14So I'm swapping angles
42:15She works the spray carefully behind a small shrub
42:21To complete this clean-up
42:26All that's needed is a hose down
42:28Jet washing goes everywhere
42:31When all this dries it's horrendous
42:33So we'll get it all done now
42:35Then we'll rinse the furniture off
42:36Put it all back
42:37So as if we've never been here
42:39Hopefully better than it was before
42:40Water runs off into the street
42:44As Pam cleans the slabs on the front drive
42:47And Steve brushes away the excess
42:50The clean-up can be just as
42:57Take just as long as doing the actual work
42:59The finished garden
43:02But all that graft has paid off
43:07It's amazing isn't it
43:08There's more satisfaction coming to a job that's filthy
43:11Than there is going to a job that's well maintained
43:14I'm happy with that
43:15It's quite a transformation this one isn't it
43:18I'd like to see the before and afters now
43:20And so you shall Steve
43:23Before
43:26And after
43:28Then
43:30And now
43:32Everyone needs a Pam
43:35And a Steve
43:36But yeah it's made a big difference
43:39Well impressed
43:41So am I still getting that takeaway or
43:44Yes
43:47You are so nicely
43:50Yeah okay
43:51Go on Pam
43:52Get yourself a sloppy Giuseppe on us
43:55Join us next time for some more amazing cleans
44:01As it's game set and match for a toxic tennis court
44:06It's an unplayable court
44:08Let's try and make it playable again
44:09A filthy tractor gets a darn good scrubbing
44:13Ah what a heap of junk
44:16There's just mud everywhere
44:18And some truly tarnished toys get schooled about the importance of cleanliness
44:25So the tracks they're dirty aren't they
44:27They're all corroded
44:28Yeah
44:29We'll see you next time
44:45We'll see you next time
