00:00In every corner of the country...
00:03I don't think it's ever been clean, to be honest.
00:05Grime and Muck are making mugs of us.
00:08It's a bit whiffy.
00:09This is well dodged.
00:11They're looking to take over, and it's time that something was done.
00:15This is rank.
00:17Just some of the things we've aimed.
00:19Toilet.
00:20That's nice.
00:21Meet the fearless few...
00:23Woo!
00:24...on the front line of fighting Phil.
00:27It's probably my favourite part of the whole show.
00:29It smells pretty rotten.
00:31Reminds me of Friday night's curry, this.
00:34They're battling bacteria.
00:37The clients ring up saying they've been sick in their car,
00:39and I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
00:41The grease is too tough.
00:43Look at that. Beautiful.
00:44And seeing off slime...
00:46It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
00:48...with their amazing cleans.
00:52This time, we're going courtside, sports fans.
01:02Putting the pressure on this toxic piece of tarmac.
01:06It's an unplayable court.
01:08Let's try and make it playable again.
01:10We're going head-to-head with Britain's slimiest tractor.
01:14Oh, what a heap of junk.
01:16There's just mud everywhere.
01:18And we're coming clean.
01:20Kids and sneezes really do spread diseases.
01:24So the tracks, they're dirty, aren't they?
01:27They're all corroded.
01:29But our first stop, Somerset.
01:36For another adventure with our favourite buffer of bonnets.
01:40Hello.
01:41Hello, Johnny.
01:43Fixer and flipper of Britain's grungiest, most unwashed motors.
01:48Today's unconquerable challenge.
01:51Look at the state of this sports car.
01:55It's soiled, stained and utterly skanky.
02:01This car has got a few known issues.
02:04There's a few paintwork issues.
02:06There's a bit of rust.
02:08Though that's hard to spot under all this filth.
02:12Look at that engine.
02:15And let's not forget, inside, it stinks.
02:20The interior needs a little bit of work.
02:24But can even this god amongst men save the day?
02:32My job is to clean the majority of that dirt off the vehicle
02:36so the owner can see what he needs to do
02:38to make it in the best shape it can be.
02:46Starting with a powerful blast of the old jet washer.
02:50Then unleashing an intense burst of snow foam.
03:00Johnny isn't wasting a single moment.
03:04And in this warrior's capable, surprisingly soft hands,
03:08this car wreck is looking better already.
03:14It's time to do something about these wheels.
03:18Such as...
03:20Kill them with fire!
03:22Or maybe just attack them with a really big scrubbing brush.
03:26This guy won't stop until every corner, every detail is spotless.
03:36And now even the engine's gleaming.
03:38What time is it, Johnny?
03:40It's time to start tackling the interior.
03:44Pulling this mucky motor apart.
03:48Our sanitising super saw won't rest until every piece of trash.
03:54And every pungent odour is eliminated.
04:02Whoa!
04:03This is edge of the seat stuff!
04:05Just a few hours ago, this soiled, stained and skanky sports car
04:19was an absolute wreck.
04:21Caked in filth.
04:26But now, it's unrecognisable.
04:29I think you'll agree it looks a lot better than it did when it rolled in here.
04:34Outside.
04:36Inside.
04:37And even under the bonnet.
04:39Hopefully, this MR2 will be on the road for many, many more years to come.
04:44Johnny, you've done it again.
04:46You can hose down our bodywork any time.
04:54Without a doubt, the bigger the vehicle, the bigger the mess.
04:58So, while your four-wheel drive might get a little dusty en route to yoga,
05:04spare a thought for these bad boys.
05:09Whether it's your manky two-berth camper van.
05:12It just gets slimy.
05:14Check this out around the vents here.
05:16It's disgusting.
05:18A stonking great lorry covered in sludge.
05:22Or even your beloved Cold War nuclear jet.
05:25Look at that.
05:28Forget the fairy liquid.
05:30Blasting the dirt off these babies is an epic job.
05:35So, FYI, you'll need more elbow grease than anyone mine can bring.
05:41We're both getting stuck in.
05:42What people have got to remember, it is mucky.
05:46And ditch the toys.
05:50Time to turn the pressure up to maximum.
05:58Hey, fella. I think you missed a spot.
06:00But for the really stubborn scum, what could be more satisfying than the full force of compressed air?
06:13Deploying the weapons of mass decontamination, even the most stomach-turning sludges out of here.
06:19The grubbiest nuclear jet made to dazzle.
06:24Oh, I'm filthy. I've had a blast.
06:26And the mankiest camper van, ready for adventure.
06:30Overall, very happy.
06:32Or, at the very least, a saucy weekend in Blackpool.
06:36Let's hit the road!
06:38There's plenty more to come, clean freaks.
06:46We're off to go do a narrowboat.
06:49Like our man in the north, who's battling the putrid scum of Britain's canals.
06:54That's the sort of stuff we're going to be cleaning off today.
06:57And in the fight of man versus tractor, this hero's going in, guns blazing.
07:03A lot of chemicals, a lot of snow foam.
07:05We're just going to blast the living daylights out of it and hope for the best.
07:19Our next stop, Cheshire.
07:22To meet two unsung heroes fighting an epic battle up and down this great nation.
07:28Their nemesis, Britain's filthiest tennis courts.
07:32Meet Dave. He's been serving up the old power wash for more than three decades.
07:39We'd probably do about 40 to 80 courts a year.
07:43And his partner in grime, son Paul.
07:46And just so you know, he has no time for chat.
07:51So dedicated to the cause, they like to live on site, camping out right next door to the court.
07:57Now that's commitment.
07:58This is where we stay when we come here. It works very well.
08:04Saves us fine in hotels.
08:06And after a blissful night's sleep, they're ready to fight the good fight.
08:11Their mission, to free this tennis court of mould, moss, and at least 58 documented forms of scum.
08:25Ooh.
08:27Ooh is right.
08:29This toxic piece of tarmac is showing more crack than a chunky builder in short shorts.
08:35It's an unplayable court. Let's try and make it playable again.
08:39Get all this moss off it, patch up the holes, new set of lines on it.
08:44Let's get started.
08:45Dave's weapon of choice, a shed load of water.
08:52Moment of truth, are we going to get enough water to actually complete the job?
08:57And he's pulling out the ultimate defence against moss and filth, the scrubber.
09:05Too close with those nozzles, they're going to damage the surface.
09:09Too far away, they're not going to clean it.
09:11Fortunately, Paul has a deft touch.
09:17And soon this scrubber's firing on all cylinders, spinning at 20,000 times a minute.
09:25The moss is practically flying off the core.
09:29The transformation totes amazeballs.
09:33Even Paul's lost for words.
09:35But as Dave's quick to point out, great things take time.
09:39You can't hurry it. You've got to wait for the arm to pass and do every bit before you move on.
09:45OK, roger that.
09:47By going a bit quicker, all you'd do is leave spirals in the core. You'd miss bits.
09:52There's no way of speeding it up as soon as that.
09:55In that case, we'll catch up with these boys a little later.
09:58But mould, moss and scum prepare to suffer a humiliating straight-set loss.
10:05And we're going to laugh at you.
10:11Up and down the country, pathogens have invaded our homes at their deepest level.
10:16Salmonella and E.coli are literally underfoot.
10:22Even Staphylococcus. Try saying that after five pina coladas.
10:28But as our faux furs and shag piles take a beating, one man is fighting back.
10:35Meet James Montana, a.k.a. The Rugmeister.
10:42So I'm going to be cleaning a really, really dirty turquoise rug for you today.
10:47How James can tell it's actually turquoise is beyond us.
10:52This rug looks more like Satan's doormat.
10:57Like he's smeared his muddy hoofs all over it after a hard day of raising hell.
11:03But worst of all, it's alive!
11:10This rug is so dirty that it's even got grass growing out through it.
11:14While one solution might be call a priest attempting exorcism.
11:22Instead, James is nursing this patient back to life.
11:27Using dirt's mortal enemy, water.
11:31And oxygenated bleach, the natural way to obliterate stains.
11:37Plus, he's firing up his colossal rotary machine.
11:41Filled to the brink with fibre shampoo.
11:46Designed to bring on micro-encapsulation.
11:50And whatever that is, it sounds great!
11:56With the contents of the Atlantic Ocean pouring out of this synthetic square of filth.
12:02What's required is some serious wrist action with the old squeegee.
12:19But just as this hero sees a glimmer of hope, there's a shocking revelation.
12:24The back of this rancid rug is minging as well!
12:30So I'm going to be using the rotary on the back.
12:32I think it's going to be really beneficial.
12:34There's still quite a lot of soil embedded into the backing.
12:37After going a few rounds with the rotary, followed by another jet wash.
12:47On both sides, there's a new toy coming out to play.
12:52Behold, the contrary rotary brush.
12:55With two rollers spinning in different directions, not only does it attack the muck, it also lifts the pile.
13:05Then, after another blast of water, it's a miracle!
13:11We can even see the turquoise!
13:13Not so long ago, this rug was nothing but muck and foul-smelling dregs.
13:28It was even sprouting vegetation.
13:32But now...
13:36The transformation is mind-blowing!
13:39Better homes and gardens, here we come!
13:43I hope that the client's going to be happy with the end result, because that was the absolute best that I could do.
13:49No need to hide your lie under a bushel, Rugmeister.
13:53You, my friend, have performed a miracle.
13:56As the war against filth is waged on our streets, over our rooftops, and in our homes, one agent of grime is utterly relentless.
14:14That's right, kids, it's you!
14:19Your grubby little mitts are everywhere!
14:21Destroying toys, defacing property, and even defiling national treasures!
14:31But across the globe, the grown-ups are fighting back.
14:37They're firing up their rotary cleaners!
14:41And they don't care how much disinfectant it takes!
14:46This trash keyboard may be crawling with microorganisms, feasting on a thousand food spillages, but it too can be sterilised, overhauled, and its bushy-tailed animals touched up.
15:00Making it look... brand new.
15:04Make no mistake, the writing's on the wall.
15:08My grandson recently discovered crayons.
15:11But not for long.
15:13Even this Banksy in the making is being wiped from the history books.
15:19And as for this mucky model railway, it's art imitating life.
15:24So the tracks, they're dirty, aren't they? They're all corroded.
15:27With passengers going nowhere fast.
15:31But with the right tools for the job, this train can finally leave the station.
15:37Is it working now?
15:38Yeah!
15:40So kids, we love your antics, we love your six million questions in a row.
15:46But please, stop spreading the filth!
15:49Our next stop, East Yorkshire, where sandblasting superstar Mick Blackley is renowned for two things.
16:04Being full of northern grit, and wearing a helmet that's said to be...
16:08Cream at Croft, best at best.
16:11Which means, no challenge is too great for this mastervenger.
16:16So today, we're off to go do a narrowboat.
16:20A narrowboat.
16:22Yes, a narrowboat.
16:24The kind that usually floats middle aged people up and down canals.
16:28For no reason.
16:30Toot toot!
16:32But not this one.
16:34With a hull covered in rust, slime and sludge, it's stuck in dry dock.
16:41We're going to be blasting all black in and paint off it, and we're going to be taking it back to bare metal.
16:50But it won't be easy.
16:53The hull's been submerged in dirty water for decades.
16:59And then the 68 coats of Midnight Rendezvous in marine gloss.
17:06That's the sort of stuff we're going to be cleaning off today.
17:08Taking it back to bare metal.
17:09Fortunately, even something this disgusting is no match for the awesome power of crushed glass.
17:17Compressed air and 60 Pascal of pressure.
17:22Mick's chosen to go bare handed for this bit, but frankly that's not recommended.
17:28Remember sandblasters, gloves are your friend.
17:32Stripping the hull of every piece of fill, every drop of pain could take East Yorkshire's
17:38favourite sandblaster the best part of six hours.
17:44That's how far we're into it at minute.
17:45But this hero never walks away until the job is done.
17:52Though as well as blasting the filth, Mick's here to say, pay attention kids, you might just learn something.
17:59Not all steel's created the same.
18:03That's got mill scale in steel. That's hardly got any on it.
18:07And that's got none on it at all.
18:09It's when it's rolled. When it's rolled it cools quicker and that's what causes it to mill scale up.
18:13Yeah, that's science. High five.
18:18And now for Engineering 101.
18:22I don't know what that is.
18:25In that case, Professor, get back to the sandblasting.
18:28Right, that's it done.
18:41Just before breakfast, this narrowboat was covered in dross, as well as those 68 coats of marine gloss.
18:48But now, Mick's saved the day yet again.
18:54Restoring the hull to factory settings, it's ready for a fresh coat of pain and a new batch of old people.
19:02Our next stop, Horsham in Sussex, where you'll usually find jet washing god David Walker buffing the playthings of the filthy rich.
19:16But not today. He's facing a very different challenge.
19:22And here's your first clue.
19:24It's big, it's muddy and it's got four wheels.
19:28If you guessed ice cream van, ride on mower or your gran's duffed up mobility scooter,
19:36then you ought to be ashamed of yourself because you are wrong.
19:41The most bogging tractor you've ever seen.
19:48Oh, what a heap of junk. It's just mud everywhere.
19:53I've got my work cut out today, like I really have.
19:55But the worst part.
19:58That grease. I don't know whether I'm going to be able to get all that off. Just look at it, it's proper thick.
20:03Which is why David's throwing everything he's got at this beast.
20:08Six different industrial strength detergents to wipe out the scum.
20:13A lot of chemicals, a lot of snow foam and a lot of power. We're going to be bringing out the powerful jet wash today.
20:20We're just going to blast the living daylights out of it and hope for the best.
20:23But first, bring on those chemicals.
20:28It's quite aggressive. It's basically going to break down all the dirt.
20:36This is a wheel cleaner slash fallout remover. In a couple of minutes, that's going to turn purple.
20:42You're going to be so impressed.
20:44But this deep clean alchemist is just getting started.
20:48So now we're going to create this raspberry ripple effect.
20:53That looks stunning. Love that.
21:00I'm going to get the old giant toothbrush out, give it a scrub.
21:04And we're going to blast it off.
21:06It's going to be good.
21:08We can't wait.
21:12Magic. I'm well happy with the wheels.
21:15But stripping the filth from the rest of this mucky machine requires our hero's secret formula.
21:20I'm now ready to get the foam out. I'm now finally ready. Let's do it.
21:24With a passion for creating sparkle, David's going for the most colourful foam ever.
21:30Interesting. Is it more effective against grime?
21:34No. It's because it looks fabulous.
21:38I don't think that's going to come out yellow. I think this is going to come out like sick.
21:41More like a cheeky shade of toxic vomit. What is he thinking?
21:48Right, let's go again.
21:52Maybe you just need a splash of blue.
22:00The worst day to wear a new jumper.
22:03Is David's surprisingly camp secret formula powerful enough to cut through even this crud?
22:10Find out later.
22:11Also, coming up, there's more drama on the court. As the scrubber comes a cropper.
22:20To this stage we usually find that the nearest petrol station is about 15 miles away.
22:26And when it comes to stone floors, this couple isn't afraid to talk dirty.
22:31You're the scrubbing girl, and I'm the buffing boy.
22:44Back in Cheshire, father and son are battling one of Britain's filthiest tennis courts.
22:51But it's no match for the scrubber. Or its pilot. Because Paul won't stop until the war on moss and mould is won.
23:02He just doesn't give up.
23:04We haven't stopped for a break today. We haven't stopped and had a cup of coffee.
23:09But it's not just our tennis pros running low on fuel.
23:14A few hours in, the scrubber's out of gas.
23:17To this stage we usually find that the nearest petrol station is about 15 miles away.
23:25Make that 16, Dave. And it's closed on Wednesdays.
23:29Though, don't worry kids. This veteran hasn't come empty handed.
23:34What we have in the van is all the spares for this.
23:39We can literally replace the cylinder head gasket, replace the pistons in it.
23:42Because where we are, we're miles from anywhere. And you can't just nip out to the local shop and buy a spare part.
23:52With more gas in the tank, it's back to the front line.
23:55Where Paul continues the charge.
24:00At a top speed of almost two miles an hour.
24:05Though after hours of hard graft, his tireless commitment is finally starting to pay off.
24:11Halfway through washing it. We've just passed the halfway mark. Let's go have a look and see what we've revealed underneath.
24:20Lead the way, Dave. The suspense is killing us.
24:24This is what we're left with after the scrubber's gone over it.
24:27And it's a combination of loose gravel and the moss.
24:37And now the scum's being purged, it's up to Dad to take out the trash.
24:44Oh, moss, I love it.
24:45It's a dirty job. But even after 30 years, this old timer can't get enough.
24:55That's just out of, what, ten square metres of the cot? Crazy moss.
25:02This isn't moss, this is my pension fund. Because it always comes back every year.
25:09Ka-ching!
25:11But this battle is far from over.
25:14So as Dave tops up his annuity, Paul's on to the next stage of their offensive.
25:20Now the scrubber's ousted the top layer of filth.
25:23He's blasting every square inch of this core with our favourite weapon, the jet washer.
25:30Downwind of him is not the place to be.
25:34Now the dirt truly has nowhere to hide.
25:38Which brings us to the big reveal.
25:42After two back-breaking days working and living on site, father and son are victorious.
25:50This filthy tennis court, once consumed by mould, moss and scum, is now love all.
26:00The cracks are no longer showing.
26:03And Paul's even repainting the lines.
26:06Job done, customer satisfied.
26:09Thanks to two generations of power washers and one scrubber, it's not only safe to pop on your tennis whites.
26:17But sorry filth, this is game, set and match.
26:21Whenever you have a slight, easy to explain accident, no need to call the police.
26:35The YouTuber you want to talk to is Carl.
26:38I'm going to teach you how to clean a blood stain using hydrogen peroxide starting right now.
26:46Believe us, there isn't a stain, smear or suspicious pool of blood this superhero can't annihilate.
26:52From those trendy trainers dropped in an open sewer, to this old chestnut.
27:02Memory foam versus dried in vomit.
27:06We've all been there.
27:07But a splash of peroxide, a cheeky steam iron and it's nighty night baby.
27:15But if you've ever wondered how serial killers keep their homes so clean, try salt and vinegar.
27:23It's not only good on chips, it might just keep you out of jail.
27:29Nice work, Carl.
27:32See you on F-Wing.
27:33Next stop, back with jet washing god David Walker.
27:43He's come to the rescue of a local farmer, turning the country's mankiest tractor a charming shade of chunder.
27:52I can draw a smiley face, yeah, I'm well happy.
27:55Look at the state of me.
27:58That is a night after a curry.
28:00Mmm, delicious.
28:03But while our hero might want to rethink the Taj Mahal as his favourite takeaway, there's no fault in his work.
28:10Like all my equipment, it's deadly.
28:15And just to make sure the bad guys aren't coming back, he's blasting this eyesore with not one,
28:22but two more intense bursts of snow foam.
28:27This is the best cannon in the world.
28:31As for his next trick, that would be even more chemicals.
28:36Only this time, it's the hard stop.
28:40It is aggressive now, I wouldn't normally do this on a car, but as it is an old farm vehicle, I'm making exceptions,
28:47and it's just going to give the shampoo a little more bite when I'm washing it.
28:53As the filth starts to dissolve, it's every molecule being bombarded.
29:00Just checking if I'm still ugly, yep.
29:01Oh, David!
29:02Right, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done.
29:06Which means it's time for David's piece de resistance.
29:16A high-end car wax containing banana and coconut.
29:17Sounds tasty.
29:18It's a good all-rounder.
29:19It gives you a load of gloss.
29:20The difference couldn't be more dramatic.
29:24And just quietly, this is the man who's used to far more refined cleaning challenges.
29:25Right, David?
29:26I once cleaned the Queensland River.
29:27No way, David!
29:28That's the man!
29:29Right?
29:30I once cleaned the Queensland Rover.
29:31end car wax containing banana and coconut sounds tasty it's a good all-rounder it
29:37give you a load of gloss the difference couldn't be more dramatic and just
29:45quietly this is the man who's used to far more refined cleaning challenges
29:50right David I once cleaned the Queensland rover no way David the
29:58Queens land rover it was her Land Rover but then she sold it moving swiftly on nice
30:12looking good just five hours ago this tractor was disappearing under a mountain of muck grease and
30:22you know what but now thanks to endless chemicals car wax and David's elbow grease this essential
30:35piece of kit is looking brand spanking new I think I've done it I've done all the outside
30:41you can eat your dinner off the glass our next stop Lancashire for the romantic tale of Heidi and Russell
30:56a husband and wife who fight side by side to save the nation's stone flooring from centuries of crud
31:03together they are the tile doctor so what floor are we doing today and we're doing the sandstone
31:10floor from a house built in 1850 so there's no damp proof membrane on this floor no no there's no
31:16damp proof membrane oh we love a damp proof membrane and it means boy do these two have a challenge on
31:25their hands inside this ye olde weavers cottage a kitchen in crisis after a hundred and seventy years
31:37of mucky foot traffic that normal cleaning just can't get rid of this sandstone floor is a shadow of its
31:45former self this looks like a job for Lancashire's finest so this is it Heidi there's a lot of bitumen
31:52there so you're gonna mill that off yeah yeah yeah early last century bitumen was the go-to for
31:59waterproofing but just one problem the stone can't breathe when you stop before like this breathing
32:06that's when the smell starts and that the dump starts to pervade but the damp the smell and centuries
32:14of grime aren't the only foes these two are facing this piece of history is literally falling apart we
32:24need to mill it off with the pads and it'll reveal a new surface a bit like sanding the floor basically
32:29and we'll have a brighter sharper cleaner finish now there's sandpaper and there's sandpaper but then
32:38there's sandpaper with diamonds in it it's like fighting fire with nuclear weapons you'll see it
32:46sparkle in the light this is the 50 grit diamond pads drb simply attached to the equally impressive
32:54weighted buffing machine and you can cut through stone and bitumen like a hot knife through butter
33:02revealing a brand new floor okay well we better pack on am i all right okay then you're the scrubbing
33:09girl and I'm the buffing boy oh cheeky monkey but enough of the floor play time to get this party started
33:20the power of russell's machine undeniable look at him go as for heidi's contribution that's applying the
33:36alkaline stripper and plenty of water but despite having all the kit for these heroes of hard flooring
33:45the real challenge is stopping the 170 year old stone from crumbling to dust um guys is it supposed
33:56to look like that that's a lot softer than we thought that all bits just crumbling off in it it's
34:02awkward because uh i've got to get it right so it's just very crumbly stone that part as russell bravely
34:10carries on it's beginning to feel like a losing battle the muck was probably holding that together
34:15because you wouldn't have noticed it and then once we start cleaning it it comes loose and it comes off
34:21obliterating two centuries of sludge the problem's only getting worse i didn't want that to happen
34:29as the stone breaks its sharp edges are tearing russell's beloved diamond pads to shreds
34:36we're not doing very well are you ready i've got two left id to do this whole floor can these warriors
34:43of stone triumph in the face of adversity let's just say spoiler alert there's about to be a lot more
34:51trouble at mill until you get here and start work you don't know what's going to happen because every
34:56fall is different and it's another piece of history in crisis a thatched roof infested with nasties
35:04seedy mount with larkin and all the moss growing on it
35:15in the war against grime there's one weapon guaranteed to always take out the trash the jet washer
35:24but if that's not an option because you've got an ever so quaint thatched roof what are you supposed to do
35:35go outside and lick it hardly this stuff's a magnet for all manner of evil so you need to call big shane aka
35:47the thatching guy today he's tackling this beast in west sussex a roof that hasn't been cleaned in 15 years
35:59you can see the amount of larkin and all the moss growing on it once the pride of the neighborhood
36:09it's literally falling apart but fear not this isn't shane's first rodeo
36:18first job is to break the first layer of the patch off and as you go you want to take off the moss and
36:24the larkin at the same time the only tool for the job thatcher's leg it and just this once kids shane
36:34says it's okay to use violence you can see here as i go it's taking off that first stitch as i said
36:46that's not all that's going the mold and the lichen that's invaded this roof is officially
36:53getting its marching orders but that's just the first assault
37:00cleaning up the infestation means reweaving your thatch from the ground up the next stage after
37:06taking off all the brittle ends of the thatch is to start pulling out all the old reed
37:11and then to use a highly technical expression open up the old reed and start cleaning in the home
37:27wowzers who knew you could clean straw but the biggest problem is higher up where the moss has
37:35really gone to town but we do take off all that martin and all that moss we're going to replace that
37:43of all new stuff which means folks it's time for a montage and a little help from shane's off cider
37:53because while our hero makes it sound simple cleaning up 15 years of moss mold and lichen
38:01isn't a job for the squeamish or people who don't have six days to spare already this thatching guy
38:10is living up to the height once we've done this over the whole roof it'll look good as new cleaning
38:18thatch definitely a challenge but after a lot of hard slog this is officially the last straw see what we did
38:28there six days ago this tired and grubby thatched roof was infested with moss mold and lichen but not
38:39anymore a lovelier shade of golden fawn you have never seen so although it's a big call we're just gonna
38:49say it this transformation is jet wash quality boom mic drop
39:03most of us think nothing of cleaning the inside of our homes
39:09but we let the outside get covered in all sorts of rubbish
39:13it's just not right but these legends and their extendable poles are fighting back
39:24the dirt the rust the sordid assault of a passing pigeon are all being scrubbed from existence
39:33even graffiti doesn't stand a chance
39:36is it art who cares it's out of here though when dangerous chemicals aren't enough to strip back
39:44the scum it's just the excuse we need to bring back the sandblaster compressed air do your worst
39:55we love it when a plan comes together
39:57back in lancashire
40:06russell and heidi are not only removing two centuries of gunge from this ye olde stone floor
40:13so the whole thing will breathe winter summer autumn spring
40:18they're eradicating public enemy number one bitumen the reason why bitch was news years and years ago is
40:25to stop damp coming through uh it's not somebody you see these days but one wrong move and the brittle
40:31sandstone disintegrates until you get here and start work you don't know what's going to happen because
40:36every fall is different see that this is this is a pad killer as a result their supply of sparkly diamond
40:44pads is dwindling fast but these two never walk away from a fight russell's digging deep into his arsenal
40:54time to say hello to his little friend the flex machine it just goes a bit deeper uh if you've got
41:03direct pressure which i can put on with my hands just to sort of release this bitumen so it was like
41:09this now it's like this perfect for smoothing off those rough edges the flex can remove the bitumen
41:17without damaging the stone while heidi looks on stony faced the stress is palpable but fortunately the
41:28plan is working russell you absolute hero meanwhile word on the street already the owner likes the cut of
41:40their sandstone but it's always nice to get a nice thumbs up from the customer who said to me like that
41:46to me after eight hours of hard graft and delicate maneuvers this 19th century floor is starting to feel
41:56bang up to date the colors can look really nice but these champs aren't finished yet this is phase one it's
42:04it's not done in one day to really make the sandstone shine and remove every last drop of bitumen takes two
42:12more days and then the pressure's on heidi to deliver the grand finale though first so um i'm gonna see
42:22whether it's dry enough and it's got to be under 20 percent so that is 10 percent in that case drum roll
42:32please watch with absolute pleasure as heidi and her lambswool brush apply the sealer one fabulous stone
42:41at a time protecting this historic floor for generations to come
42:49four days ago this was a kitchen in crisis thanks to almost two centuries of mucky foot traffic
42:57and that nasty bitumen but now feast your eyes it's been quite a tough job because there's been a lot
43:08of bitumen on the floor that we had to get off on milling but it's great to see the end result of the floor
43:15oh yes lancashia legends russell and heidi really have turned back time
43:21join us next time as an army of robots wage war on some poop splattered solar panels the gold
43:32drop-ins attached to the glass in a way that's very very sticky a mossy memorial gets a historic clean
43:38that is that a professional's clean a war memorial and a disgusting driveway feels the pressure from a
43:45darn good jet wash it's gonna look like dirt it's gonna look like loads of the soil it's gonna look
43:50really slushy dirt
