Amazing Cleans S01E05 (25th July 2022)
Transcript
00:00In every corner of the country...
00:03I don't think it's ever been clean, to be honest.
00:05Grime and Muck are making mugs of us.
00:08It's a bit whiffy.
00:09This is well dodged.
00:11They're looking to take over, and it's time that something was done.
00:15This is rank.
00:17Just some of the things we've aimed.
00:19Toilet.
00:20That's nice.
00:21Meet the fearless few...
00:23Woo!
00:24...on the front line of Fighting Phil.
00:27It's probably my favourite part of the whole show.
00:29It smells pretty rotten.
00:31Reminds me of Friday night's curry, this.
00:34They're battling bacteria.
00:37Clients ring up saying they've been sick in their car,
00:39and I wouldn't have it any other way, you know.
00:41No, grease is too tough.
00:43Look at that. Beautiful.
00:44And seeing off slime...
00:46It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
00:48...with their amazing cleans.
00:52This time, Filth has picked the wrong house to smear with slime.
01:02It's down to skill with everything working in Unison,
01:05and me having a good day, hopefully.
01:07The penguin enclosure's getting cleaned,
01:11and, boy, have they eaten a lot of fish.
01:14We're going to be swimming about in a lot of dirt,
01:16a lot of filth, a lot of feathers.
01:18And a giant carpet of moss is seen off in style.
01:23There are big lumps of moss on there.
01:25I don't think that's ever had a clean.
01:27It's satisfaction guaranteed.
01:29First, we're in Wiltshire to meet a pair of pro cleaners
01:36who've been working for a very important client, the Lord.
01:41About to take on the divine task
01:44of de-griming one of God's gaffs is Gary,
01:47owner of Elford's Exterior Cleaning and Restoration,
01:51and his helpful sidekick, Johnny.
01:54So, we're here in the lovely town of Marlborough
01:57working on St Pieces Church here,
02:00which is a church that was built around 1460.
02:04Gary's a specialist in cleaning historic buildings
02:08and super-old stonework,
02:10which is just as well as this ick is ancient.
02:20Bothersome layers of black have attacked,
02:23but salvation has arrived.
02:26So, we're here to clean up the edges around this door
02:32of all this carbon soiling here.
02:35Now, this is essentially pollution.
02:38This creates problems for the stone
02:41as part of the ventilation of the building.
02:44And once you get all this level of carbon on here,
02:46it basically blocks up the stone doing its job.
02:48It means that moisture can be trapped behind this coating.
02:51As you can see lower down here,
02:53the stone has started to break up because of the moisture.
02:57As soggy stonework can cause it to crumble,
03:00it's time for these blessed boys
03:02to confront that cakes on carbon.
03:05Here we've got some sausages, long sausages.
03:08Of course you have.
03:09These are basically for absorbing moisture,
03:11so we're just going to create essentially a dam.
03:14Quite simply like so, around the doorway.
03:17Looks like a damn good idea, Gary.
03:20This is a very light pressure wash
03:22compared with the average pressure wash.
03:23Very light.
03:24Unlike pressure washing in Ann's patio,
03:26this is a gentle tickle of a rinse
03:29to remove surface algae and dirt.
03:32Hallelujah!
03:35Just to take the loose stuff off,
03:37to reveal what's left with the carbon underneath
03:40so I can see exactly what carbon we're removing,
03:43and also to make sure it's not going to be overcleaned
03:47and blend in with the rest of the surrounding stone.
03:49We're trying to get a nice sensitive clean
03:51that's in keeping with the age of the property,
03:54so we're not looking to get a pristine clean all the way around.
04:02You've got to preserve the charm of oldness.
04:06I get it.
04:07A coat of magnolia would spruce it up in no time, though.
04:11Just saying.
04:17More of this holy mess later.
04:25And now it's time for a crud-filled,
04:28yet curated collection of pleasing online cleans.
04:32We've found some of the filthiest footage of outdoor walls and floors
04:36you could shake a power washer at.
04:38So pour yourself a stiff drink
04:40and prepare for your eyes to turn into massive heart emojis.
04:44This gate's GAC is under attack.
04:50It's actually all white.
04:54Steaming gorgeous.
04:57Here's a driveway with one well of a problem.
05:02Mud-filled and manky.
05:06Wanging it with a water jet is the high-pressured solution.
05:16From beating back weeds to prettying your patios with passion,
05:21the outdoors is sparkling with you lot.
05:25Next, we're in Hertfordshire to join a pair of plucky pressure washers
05:34about to test their mettle.
05:36Gary, owner of Revive and Restore, together with Dad Geoff,
05:40are about to spend a taxing day out on the tiles.
05:44So, Gary, what have we got on today, then?
05:46We've got a flat concrete tiles, which are caked in moss.
05:51Right.
05:52Got to scrape it, scrape all the moss off.
05:54Yeah.
05:55And it's going to be a lot.
05:56I think it'll look the nuts when it's done this one.
05:58Yeah.
06:00A layer of fuzzy moss has got this unassuming semi-covered.
06:04Oh, there's a lot there, isn't there?
06:06It's been grown for years.
06:07I don't think that's ever had a clean.
06:09No.
06:10I very much doubt it.
06:11There are big lumps of moss on there.
06:13That's about as big as moss lumps get.
06:15Obviously, for an aesthetical reason,
06:17it looks a lot nicer when it's clean.
06:20It's a soiled and soggy situation.
06:24A house wig of wild growth that's out of control.
06:32Get the scaffolding up, start scraping,
06:34just put an angle on the scraper for the two left and right.
06:36Left and right.
06:43Time for take-off.
06:48Step one is the scraping.
06:51I'm going to start from the ridge
06:54and slowly start to scrape the moss down towards the gutter level.
06:58Not all the moss is going to come off like this.
07:01It's purely to get the bulk of it off.
07:05Moss, get lost.
07:07This roof's for tiles only.
07:11Years of gate-crashing growth be gone.
07:15What he's doing, he's using a carbon fibre pole
07:19with just a normal scraper on it.
07:22Yum.
07:23Run that scraper down that slope.
07:29Certainly scratching my itch.
07:35Do you want to have a go now?
07:36Yeah, no problem.
07:37Once we've collected all this moss, we fill up tonne bags at the yard and then that gets taken away.
07:45In the busy period, probably two tonnes a month, maybe, we collect.
07:50Where does it all go?
07:51It's a Benidorm on an all-inclusive.
07:52It just gets taken away by a waste agency.
07:53Right, yeah.
07:54That's a good idea too.
07:55I love this job.
07:56I love it.
07:57It's not like we're plumbing electric, electricians, anything like that.
07:58You don't get a great before and after photo every day you come home from work.
07:59Putting pipes together, joining wires together.
08:00It's boring.
08:01When you look at an old roof and by the end of the day it looks brand new, it's a real satisfying
08:02job.
08:03I love it, I do.
08:04Who doesn't love a before and after shot?
08:05We're going to vacuum all the gutters out, clear all the ground and then prepare for steam
08:06cleaning the roof.
08:07You are such a genius.
08:08You are such a genius.
08:09I love it.
08:10I love it.
08:11I love it.
08:12I love it.
08:13I love it.
08:14I love it.
08:15I love it.
08:16I love it.
08:17It's not like we're plumbing electric, electricians, anything like that.
08:18You don't get a great before and after photo every day you come home from work.
08:19Putting pipes together, joining wires together.
08:20It's boring.
08:21When you look at an old roof and by the end of the day it looks brand new, it's a real satisfying
08:22job.
08:23I love it, I do.
08:24Who doesn't love a before and after shot?
08:27I'm going to vacuum all the gutters out, clear all the ground and then prepare for steam
08:32cleaning the roof.
08:33You are such a tease.
08:35Once the vacuum has manoeuvred the remaining moss.
08:42It's just out of the gutter.
08:44Tons of it out there.
08:45It'll be time for my favourite bit.
08:49Things are getting hot and steamy later.
08:56During up, a battle with a burnt out barbecue heats up.
09:01Getting serious.
09:02Why a brush on drills are you good?
09:05And things get deep as we pick up after these penguins.
09:09As the debris gets all moved about the bottom of the pool, the visibility will go to almost
09:14nothing.
09:15Now we're back in Hertfordshire where a brutal battle against moss is currently taking place
09:28on top of a semi.
09:30Gallant Gary here hasn't always performed at such dizzy heights.
09:34Time for a bit of backstory.
09:36So I started this business alongside working in a factory.
09:41I was given a £50 jet wash and that's all I had.
09:45I went round jet washing patios for nothing.
09:48Then I advertised that and I slowly worked my way up buying the equipment.
09:53And then I left that factory and done this full time.
09:57So, yeah, it's gone really well.
10:02And what is this beauty?
10:06Won't you introduce us, Gary?
10:08On a telescopic pole, we've got a rotary head.
10:11Feeds some pressured steam.
10:13Now spin the rotary head.
10:15And we'll just mop from the ridge downwards.
10:17Slowly.
10:18Yep.
10:19Dad Geoff has pounced with a pressure washer.
10:22Hot steam blasts off even the most stubborn moss.
10:28And there's the money shot.
10:31You spoil me.
10:33You've just got a bar with two jets.
10:36One's facing about a 30-degree angle that way.
10:39One's 30-degree angle that way.
10:41And when the pressure comes out, they push against each other and it spins.
10:45You can talk tools to me any time.
10:48He's doing all right.
10:49He's doing all right.
10:51Nice and methodically.
10:53The team take it in turns to either tackle the task or yell instructions.
10:59You all right?
11:00That's not too bad, it's all right.
11:02Well, is it good or is it bad?
11:04No, it's all right.
11:05That dirty bit you got there.
11:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:09Come down.
11:12Down a bit more.
11:15Underneath it.
11:17What part of down don't you understand?
11:19Tell you what, give it here.
11:21No, down.
11:23Calm.
11:24Down.
11:25You can't.
11:26Ow.
11:27Does that look all right?
11:28Well, we have our ups and downs like you would dad and son.
11:31I don't like taking orders from Gary.
11:33I'm too old in the tooth for that.
11:35Oh, thanks boys.
11:39That bit was beginning to bother me.
11:41Next, a punchy chemical is unleashed to see off any remaining scum.
11:51That induces a biocide into the jet stream.
11:56And that stops any blobs from spores from any more moss growing in the near future.
12:08It's looking good.
12:09Very happy.
12:11So we've finished up top.
12:14Just going to give the house a quick rinse down.
12:17Wash the windows, the brickwork.
12:19And then we're done.
12:25So overall I think that went really well.
12:26I think the customer will be really happy with that.
12:28It looks brilliant.
12:29I think they will.
12:30It's come out really nice.
12:31Yeah.
12:32We're well pleased with that.
12:33Gary and Jeff, two gents that gave a toss, came to mangle the moss here.
12:38Now they've done that, they're off.
12:41And they only gave me a D for English language GCSE.
12:45The fools.
12:46It's time to dive back online to discover how filth is never far from our fingertips.
12:58Apparently, a massively manky mouse like this one can carry more than three times the bacteria of a toilet seat.
13:06Crud in all the crevices makes fingering your lunchtime sarnie before this baby a bug filled nightmare.
13:19As you're innocently typing away, it's germ glastonbury on your desk.
13:25Gross.
13:27Cotton buds or an old toothbrush can help make your tech tip top again.
13:36Now it's time for another cleaning dream team armed with a camera.
13:42Husband and wife Adrian and Stacey of Sussex Oven Cleaning regularly run towards the torrid task that most of us avoid.
13:52And they scrub up really well.
13:54Usually I'm based in the office, but today for a change I'm going out on the road of Adrian to see what he gets up to.
14:00I'm not going to be on my best behaviour apparently.
14:02They're heading to Hassocks to obliterate a build up of grime on a barbecue.
14:08But first, let's discuss the weather.
14:10We've hit jackpot with the weather today.
14:12It can be a bit hit and miss with the barbecues.
14:15So we only really do them in the spring.
14:19I don't want to work in the rain.
14:21I don't really want to stand outside cleaning a barbecue in the pouring rain.
14:26How British.
14:28This is a Barbie in crisis.
14:34A bride that's a far cry from clean.
14:38Burnt bits of burgers have clung on and congealed.
14:44Stubborn black bits of ick are about to get a grilling.
14:47I could do this all day.
14:51It's time to destruct.
14:54I've got it.
14:56It's all right.
14:58You're big and strong.
15:01But how are you going to clean that horrific grease?
15:04So hopefully this has been heated up to 80 degrees.
15:08It's when the chemical works its best.
15:11There we go.
15:12So nice and steamy.
15:14Nice and hot.
15:16That's what we want.
15:18Shut up.
15:20They've only got a massive acid bath wash in the van.
15:23All of this we can pop into here.
15:25I would say we'll leave this in here for the length of time it takes me to scrub out that barbecue.
15:29The racks and grills are left in a caustic cleaning solution to think about their behaviour.
15:36And to let the chemical work, it's dirt degrading magic.
15:40Right, here he is.
15:42Getting suited and booted.
15:44My onesie.
15:46Basically a boil in the bag situation with these.
15:50Necessary though.
15:52You look like you're about to go and do some sort of forensic examination.
15:56I feel it that way to be honest.
16:00I'd have gone for the extra layers, I don't know, before the acid bath.
16:06Next the lid is hit where it hurts with a punchy chemical.
16:11The only thing getting murdered today is grease.
16:14In your face.
16:16While that's all settling in, what I'm doing is just trying to scrape off the worst of this grease on here.
16:21So what have you got in your hand?
16:23What's that?
16:24It's just a razor blade.
16:26Why don't you run some nails down the blackboard while you're at it?
16:30Cut sound!
16:32Ah, that's better.
16:34As you can see, it's not too bad.
16:39It's going to take a couple of runs, I think.
16:42Yeah, it's coming off quite nicely, isn't it?
16:45Yeah.
16:47Sometimes with the more stubborn stuff, we can use a steam cleaner with a brisly brush on it.
16:51And we can also then spray it into the grooves here to get rid of the chemical in there.
16:54So...
17:02The brisly brush.
17:04It jostles and buffs and clears out all those crannies.
17:09So steaming good.
17:11Now the lid's dead, it's time to tackle the main body of the barbie.
17:16This is foaming, foaming chemical.
17:19So it basically comes out of the saving foam.
17:21Yep. Oh, yeah.
17:22That hits the spot.
17:25After the dirt-dissolving foam, it's pressure washed.
17:35Then wire brushed.
17:37Getting serious. Wire brush on drills, very good.
17:40To perfection.
17:41Just needs those moveable parts, now free of their chemical naughty step.
17:56Makes it look like a barbecue again.
17:57Here we go.
17:59I think it goes down.
18:01And you have it.
18:04It used to be a crusty cooking calamity.
18:08And now it's a tasty triumph.
18:14How did you feel?
18:18I feel it went really good.
18:20Erm...
18:21God, I'm tired for you though.
18:22Yeah.
18:23It's hard work.
18:24We got a good result.
18:25We did.
18:26And customers are really happy as well, so...
18:27Let's go and get you some lunch.
18:28Oh, yeah.
18:29Nothing barbecued, yeah?
18:31Now, back to Wiltshire, where this tenacious team are praying they've got what it takes to de-grotify a 700-year-old church doorway.
18:46Centuries of crud are under attack and it's time to call on Gary's secret weapon, the granules.
18:53They're all inert products and they're all basically natural minerals.
18:58If you like, the best way to describe it is like a teasing, a buffering of the surface rather than sandblasting or heavy blasting which comes out direct and straight.
19:07It just teases it off and that's what you need on this kind of heritage type property.
19:15Teeny tiny pieces of rock fire out onto the grot which tenderly teases it off.
19:21I like it.
19:24What we've got going on here, we've got the main hose which is feeding up the granula with the air from the compressor.
19:33So the water's introduced here and then we've essentially got a rotating air, granula and water mix.
19:40Giving it a nice, gentle buffering to take the carbon off the stone.
19:45You just gotta have faith.
19:48It's down to skill.
19:49It's quite specialist work, the skill of me getting it right with everything working in unison and me having a good day hopefully.
19:58What will definitely perk your day up, Gary, is pretending to be a spaceman.
20:01So we've got a footed respirator which is an air-fed helmet.
20:07It's more about, it's not really harmful that the products, you know, we're doing here.
20:10It's not about that.
20:11If I didn't have this on, I'll be getting absolutely covered.
20:16OK, let's do it.
20:19Let's get this spaceship on the road.
20:20Who needs peripheral vision anyway?
20:26Time to see what the rock granules are made of.
20:31I mean, they're made of rock.
20:33I suppose one way of describing this is it's kind of, um, like, chipping away and cleaning up those real heavily soiled saucepans that you haven't cleaned properly for a long time.
20:46Uh, have you been looking in my kitchen drawers?
20:50Cos I am gonna get those.
20:52I had a scrambled egg incident.
20:58The fact you can still see that aged orangey sort of patina look shows how gentle this system is and how sensitive it is to this kind of aged building.
21:07And essentially, pretty much as it is now, is more than likely how I'm gonna leave it. I'm happy with that.
21:27OK, so what's your professional opinion, Johnny?
21:29Yeah, it looks a lot better.
21:31Pretty good, isn't it?
21:33700 years of sort of gunk built up.
21:35Carbon, yeah.
21:37Yeah, it won't come back in our lifetime, man.
21:40Book it in for another 700 years, then.
21:42Yeah, exactly, yeah.
21:44A rigorous rinse down of the doorway and each other just for fun.
21:49There we are.
21:50We offer all kinds of exterior cleaning.
21:52Ha, ha, ha.
21:54Clean that again.
21:56Reveals an entrance once blackened with centuries-old filth,
22:01now almost as pristine as the pearly gates themselves.
22:05Almost.
22:06Looking good, mate.
22:08Beautiful as you now, isn't it?
22:10Mm-hmm.
22:12Right, let's pack up and go home.
22:13Let's go and get a beer.
22:14Do it, let's do it.
22:15Good job.
22:16Coming up, two courageous cleaners take on a carpet in crisis.
22:27If the owner is not pleased, I'm going to ask him, please, to go get his eyes checked.
22:31And a clean car fanatic pulls off something fantastic.
22:36I am going to give it a massive Dave special.
22:39Believe me, it is horrendous in here.
22:41Welcome back to this festival of filth fighting.
22:52We're at Edinburgh Zoo to meet an unflappable team who've got the dream job of cleaning up after these guys.
22:59Stephen, MD at coastal diving, will be supervising divers Liam and James as they make the penguin pool pristine again.
23:11Yeah, it's pretty filthy just now.
23:13We're going to be swimming about in a lot of dirt, a lot of filth, a lot of feathers.
23:16Wait, is that the penguin tank Terminator? Do you mind just saying that again?
23:21We're going to be swimming about in a lot of dirt, a lot of filth, a lot of feathers.
23:25Oh, my, I am so ready for this.
23:29Today's deep clean of these murky depths hasn't come a moment too soon.
23:35Oh, you dirty birdies.
23:38There's green slime slathered on the windows.
23:41All sorts of floating filth.
23:43Frankly, it's penguin pooped filth-a-lava.
23:50Yeah, we crack on, we're going to go get our kit together.
23:54Sounds like they're off to p-p-p-pick up their equipment.
23:57It's amazing being in the water, especially if you love it.
24:00It doesn't feel like work.
24:02If you love your job, you never have to work again.
24:05True that.
24:07Right, now the diving club is on, dirt you're done for.
24:13We're not allowed to use any chemicals in the pool, just because it can affect, obviously, the ecosystem.
24:20Ideally, you would have a pressure hose, but the penguins are far too inquisitive and you can't have anything that could harm them.
24:27No pressure washing? What'll you do without that? Time for an old-fashioned brush-out.
24:33So, at the moment, he's pretty much just sweeping the bottom of the pool.
24:38A lot of the stuff's really heavy, because it's just feathers and algae and it just sits in the bottom.
24:44Yeah, sweep that sludge.
24:46So, as the debris gets all moved about the bottom of the pool, the visibility will go to almost nothing until it is just a pool of murky water.
24:57You won't see anything in it. And that is the sediment being pushed up.
25:01Right.
25:02The divers we use, they're actually used to working in water that's...
25:07They call it black water. There's nothing. There's more light with your eyes closed.
25:11So, it is difficult, but it's not the worst conditions they've been in.
25:16That's good for them. Us, not so much.
25:19Apparently, the divers are pushing the dirt and muck up into the water so that the filter can suck it out.
25:29So, is there anything we can actually see getting cleaned?
25:34You bet there is.
25:36The windows, they get this kind of green algae growth across them.
25:42Usually in the corners, the best method of cleaning it is a dish scourer, you know, that you'd wash your dishes with at home.
25:49And you just, you just go for it.
25:51So, the equipment's not fancy, but this is still extreme window cleaning in my book.
25:57Praise be.
26:02Once smeared in slime, a scrub and a wipe has seen it right.
26:10So satisfying.
26:12Stephen's probably finding this thrilling too.
26:15So, I was a Royal Navy mine clearance diver.
26:17So I specialise in underwater bomb disposal.
26:20Ah, or not.
26:22Obviously, it's a different world being in a penguin tank to being in the North Sea at night on a German torpedo.
26:31The divers are just going to come out now.
26:34They're going to start sweeping from the water line.
26:36You can actually see the green line.
26:37They're going to push all this down.
26:39It's very, very light stuff.
26:41And it will just dissipate into the water with all the rest of the bad visibility.
26:46And hopefully get sucked through the filters.
26:47Green gunges swept into the murky depths and they're done.
26:54We'll pretty much be back in a few months just once they start molten and the water's absolutely thick with who knows what.
27:05So that's it.
27:07No one got in a flap.
27:09And cleaner water means perkier penguins to peer at.
27:13Dive in, mate.
27:15The water's fine.
27:16Next, we're in London's fancy Chelsea district to meet a tenacious team of two pro cleaners.
27:28Meet Paul, owner of Forever Ready Cleaning.
27:32He's got a target market, owners of sticky carpets.
27:36He and mate Kyle are ready to face some absolute scenes.
27:41OK, Kyle, you can stop staring into the middle distance now.
27:44This floor is frightening.
27:48Filth's been getting far too comfortable and it's time someone fought back.
27:53It's going to be OK though, I like this type of challenge, I like it.
27:58When it's really bad like this, I feel like I'm doing something.
28:02Just as well, this crud-covered carpet hasn't been cleaned in two years.
28:08It's got some stains here, very bad stains.
28:11This flat's no stranger to a party and it's finally time to stop seeing signs of the frivolities all over the floor.
28:19This looks like...
28:21..it might be coffee or wine.
28:24It's carpet murder on the dance floor.
28:28Unfortunately, someone invited a herd of cows back after a curry club down at the local Spoons. Messy.
28:35Now, this room, I say for last, this is really, really, really, really, really, really, really bad.
28:41That's mould all the way around. It's almost impossible to come out.
28:48An army of spores have blatantly besieged the bedroom. Rude.
28:52And that there, that's wine also.
28:56But this room is going to be a challenge. I love a challenge.
28:59We do. This room's really going to be a challenge.
29:02But what's exciting about this room? It's the after.
29:05The after. The after look really and truly is going to be great.
29:08It will be 20 times better. I can assure you guys that.
29:10Stains like these would make some heave.
29:15But not these guys. Stomachs of steel. Go team.
29:20They're getting cracking now.
29:22First, a vacuum sees off some of the scum.
29:27We get the pre-spotter. Pre-spotter does the job.
29:30Then the big boy lifts it all up.
29:33Pre-spotting means attacking stubborn stains with a chemical cleaner.
29:37That old wine from that hazy night everyone would rather forget.
29:43This is a more intense spot cleaner.
29:46Because this, I don't know about this.
29:49So this is going to make sure something good happens.
29:56I don't like mess.
29:58So I said, someone said to me,
30:00why are you always complaining about mess?
30:02You need to have a cleaning company.
30:04Straight away I'm like, yes.
30:05This is my passion man.
30:07So I took it up.
30:09I bought my machine.
30:11I worked and I bought my machine.
30:13And I just started for free.
30:16Because I had no one.
30:18So I went to someone and I'm like,
30:20your carpet is messy.
30:21Do you want me to clean it for free?
30:23They're like, go ahead.
30:25Are you still offering freebies?
30:26Because my carpet's minging.
30:28Until they start, introduce me to other people.
30:32I'm like, well, only hope you don't tell them.
30:35I'm doing your hands are free.
30:37So, I like dirty stuff.
30:40And then I do what I'm doing today.
30:42I like dirty stuff too.
30:44But stay tuned for a tantalising transformation.
30:47Now it's time to dive back online.
30:56We teed off a search for those with the balls
30:59to de-clean their sullied sports equipment in public.
31:03What a fancy cleaning contraption.
31:06Here's a pro tip.
31:07If you're a golfer, make sure you wear two pairs of trousers
31:12in case you get a hole in one.
31:14Oh, the old ones are the best.
31:17This guy's much maligned kayak is covered in muck and goo.
31:22A scrub and rinse and it's ready to be pushed out to sea
31:26before you make that insurance claim.
31:29Kidding, you'd never get away with that now.
31:31Wax went on, so wax comes off.
31:43Oh yes, why does that feel so good?
31:47Rad.
31:53And to a lesser extent, bedacious.
32:01Now we're back with another of our cleaners with cameras.
32:07Dirt destroying David here has a YouTube channel
32:10with over 30,000 subscribers.
32:13Hello and welcome to a brand new episode.
32:16They're not the only ones that can't get enough
32:18of his car transformations.
32:20And it's not just the wheels, it's the messy flaps as well.
32:24He's a muck moving magician
32:26and today he's filming just for us.
32:29So this is my car.
32:30Wait, surely your car is the cleanest of all?
32:34It's a seven-seater MPV,
32:37so it's been used and abused on the farm.
32:39We've got so many different animals that need transporting
32:42and I've even got loads of kids as well.
32:44I'm not going to lie, I don't clean it.
32:46I think the last time I cleaned it was like a year ago.
32:48I am going to give it a massive Dave special.
32:51This thing is going to get cleaned top to bottom.
32:54There's old crisps and tons of crumbs.
32:57And so much fur.
33:00If I stroked it, might it purr?
33:03The outside is a mingy mudfest.
33:06A crud-covered car calamity.
33:10So here's the plan of action.
33:13We're going to tackle a good 90% of the inside of the car first.
33:17Normally I'll do all the outside and then do the inside last,
33:20but believe me, it is horrendous in here.
33:21Hopefully we're going to be left with a nice brand-new looking car.
33:27Operation obviously overdue car.
33:31Clear out is go.
33:33How many bags does my wife have?
33:36I'm uncovering all sorts of ancient relics.
33:40Holy moly, look at that.
33:44It just gets worse in here, there's just so much stuff.
33:47Neil and Jeff, who's Neil and Jeff?
33:50I don't even know who that is.
33:52I've got some serious questions for my wife later.
33:54Who the heck's Neil and Jeff?
33:58Clutter cast aside, it's cleaning time.
34:06David destroys the squished-in scum with chemical solutions
34:11and a bionic brush attached to a power drill.
34:13With the inside finally back to its best, the exterior's about to get it.
34:29Not too mouldy here, actually.
34:31But it's best that we can just loosen some of these little bits of muck out
34:36and then I'm going to go nuts with the jet wash.
34:38Now for the foamy bit. Dreamy.
34:39Now for the foamy bit. Dreamy.
34:51Sound effects.
34:53Out of its mid 13s.
34:55giants &
35:16Wide Main
35:18Sound of sh youngsters
35:18I'm quite chuffed about this. I can't wait to see the end result now. I'm really looking
35:27forward to it. Can't wait to see the result. You're seeing it. You're doing it. Look at
35:37that. Amazing. Let's remind ourselves how bad it was. From soiled and sunlit to the
35:48soiled, back to brand spanking new. Nice one, you car-cleaning genie, you. Coming up, a filthy
36:06farm gets the five-star treatment. I hope nobody's eaten their dinner. That is gross.
36:15Welcome back to this celebration of extreme cleaning. We're back in London's Chelsea, where
36:25two courageous carpet cleaners are battling a build-up of grime and filth. Luckily, Kyle's
36:33from a cleaning dynasty. It was a profession that my dad was doing throughout his life.
36:39And when I was young, sort of, when I was a kid, 30, you know, you're 30 and 40, you're, like,
36:42playing around. He was sort of, like, come and learn something. I was like, ah, you know,
36:46whatever, Dad. Then I got older and I thought, nah, it's a good profession. And ever since
36:50that sort of thing, I've been doing it.
36:52Next, the carpet is scrubbed with a decrubmobile. Or, you know, cleaning machine. I call it my
37:02little friend, my little important friend. But it's a really good industrial machine.
37:06This makes our job ten times easier. Under that disc, spinning brushes are getting brutal
37:14on hard-to-butch stains. So, you see that? I'm irritating it. So, when I come with the
37:22other machine to suck it up, it'll be much easier for me. So, you see, you remember that
37:27the stain that was there. Because now it's loose. Everything is getting loose now.
37:34Yeah, there's more stain than I thought. This one was underneath the setting.
37:38Any remaining muck, stand by to be obliterated. Kyle's roping in the rug redeemer.
38:00Yeah.
38:07Steam and suction at the same time. It's literally bringing it up and then extracting it.
38:11Bringing it up, extracting it. Do you know what I mean?
38:14Sounds like the dirt's being sucked off the carpet. So satisfying.
38:18As I go forward and back, the water comes out. But as I'm going back, I'm really sucking the
38:22water back up. So, I'm sucking all the dirt that I've imitated. It's gradually coming up.
38:30Underlay. Underlay. Get it? Carpets. Underlay. I know, right?
38:36You see that? No more stain. Right there it was.
38:41Oh, look at that difference right there. It looks better already.
38:45That's before and this is after. Yep. It's coming across all right.
38:51Looks like a whole brand new carpet. This is the water that came out of the carpet.
38:55That's out of your carpet. Looks like a milkshake. Filth flavour.
39:02This is how dirty it is. So you don't need to worry. You can lay on it now.
39:08He can put his food on it and eat. I'm just joking, but...
39:13Absolutely rank. I love it.
39:26If the owner is not pleased, I'm going to ask him, please, to go get his eyes checked.
39:31And then he come back again and look at him.
39:34Right, that's it. We're done, bro. That's it. That's a day's job done, really.
39:41Danced in Dirt once blighted this party pad's carpet and the corners were a calamity.
39:50A scrub and some steaming and now things are gleaming.
39:53Look at that. Is this a new carpet or what?
40:04I mean, it's literally not, but I get your point.
40:09Now for another lot of videos gathered from the grubbiest corners of the internet.
40:18Here's a doorknob for you. And it's filthy.
40:23No such thing as rust in peace with this guy.
40:27A soak in soda crystals and a scrape will make it great again.
40:33Buffing beautiful.
40:36Burnt the inside of your dog bowl? Me neither.
40:41Apparently vinegar and washing detergent can help send parched bits packing.
40:50This minging napkin ring's getting the five-star treatment it deserves with some pink gloop.
41:05I don't know what they're for, honestly, but it's now the fanciest thing.
41:14Bling de-minged.
41:18Now we're joining one of the internet's particularly prolific cleaning pros.
41:24Sid here of Partridge Exterior Cleaning in Staffordshire has over 80,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel.
41:32Thanks, everyone, for tuning in today.
41:34Fellow fans of filth fighting regularly watch him see off grot and grime.
41:39Today he's armed and dangerous, if you don't, in Derby.
41:44Good afternoon, wherever you are.
41:45Today we've got a job.
41:47The lady is actually selling the house.
41:49It's like a farmyard.
41:51They kept dogs here and stuff and everything.
41:54Obviously you can tell it's very dilapidated, but as you can see it's in a right state now.
41:59This once flourishing farm is now utterly filthy.
42:04Green slime has taken over.
42:08So, without further ado, I'll crack on.
42:11Farmyard filth prepare to be hoofed out.
42:15Hope nobody's eaten their dinner.
42:20That is gross.
42:25You love it, Sid.
42:28But not as much as I do.
42:30A strong sweep means things are almost ready for blast off.
42:35Block drain.
42:41Oh, no.
42:42That's clear.
42:51It's clearly minging.
42:54And now he can get on with the bit we're all here for.
42:59Sludge around the edges is blasted with water, changing the colour of the stonework completely.
43:07Get out of it, grime.
43:09So, I've cut in all the edges already.
43:11I've just got to surface clean it.
43:13Clean it up the best we can and make it look as good as possible.
43:18Hang on.
43:19I know that one.
43:20That's called a flat surface cleaner or slime fighter.
43:28After a final rinse down, this farmyard filth is moving on fast.
43:35We're all done now.
43:38That's everything.
43:39Absolutely finished.
43:40It came up really nice.
43:41This came up just immense, didn't it, really?
43:43I don't even want to walk on it because I've got muddy feet.
43:46All right then, folks.
43:47I'll get packed up now.
43:49And away we go.
43:50It's been a fun job, man.
43:51It's been a hard day, but a really fun job there.
43:54Once a crud-covered calamity, this farm's now so fabulous the pigs are going round in Louboutins.
44:04Another barnstorming success for Sid.
44:09Join us next time for more amazing cleans.
44:12As a crud-covered boat meets its match.
44:15These little buggers, they're called sea squirts.
44:17They give you a little squirt.
44:20Woo!
44:21A grotty garage roof gets a good old power wash.
44:25I've been looking at about 30 years worth of dirt on top of that.
44:29And crusty carpets are made gleaming again.
44:32This is the colour of what I own some customers' carpets.
44:35Lola's forced to confront her past tonight as the drama continues for our Aussie runaways.
44:44A brand new wanted double bill is here from ten.
44:47But first, a noisy German Shepherd is driving his owners to despair.
44:51As we tackle dogs behaving very badly next.
