00:00Hello, hi, welcome to MPCubes and welcome to Blender.
00:05Now, normally I would start with the box and I delete it.
00:10But, as you know, if you watch out of mainstream content, normally I don't delete the box.
00:15I really don't, because I can turn that into absolutely almost anything.
00:19So I think you can click on that and go here, turn the snapping on.
00:23I like to talk about this part, just in case you're young and you don't know.
00:26Zoom in to see the dark squares a little bit.
00:28I'm using the mouse on the laptop. Just click it and drag it.
00:32Now, I won't be using the box, I'm just showing you how to do it.
00:36So, as I said, I can put the box somewhere else, I can just delete the box where it is.
00:40Click the box over here.
00:42Apply Transforms.
00:44Apply Transforms when you do that.
00:47That just tells the box to stay exactly where it is.
00:51Go over here if you look at it.
00:53So we don't have to delete it, we're going to just leave it on that.
00:55So, if you want to basically, if you want to, go here.
00:58You can save this as a template.
00:59Go to Downloads.
01:01And then just save it as a standard Startup page.
01:04So you can go here.
01:05Just put Startup.
01:07Type Startup.
01:09And I'm going to put Blender Z.
01:15And put OK.
01:16Now, every time I open Blender, it's going to start with the box in the middle of the floor.
01:21So I don't have to keep moving the box.
01:23Just in case you're wondering that.
01:25So as I said, if you want to load it, just to see if it works.
01:27Go here.
01:28Open.
01:29Go to Downloads.
01:30Click on Blender.
01:31Open it.
01:32As I said, every time you open Blender, it's now just starts like that.
01:36So as I said, it just seems to keep moving to the middle of the floor.
01:39Just a nice, easy, simple template for you.
01:42Anyway, what I'm doing, I'm creating a world called Red Band Alley.
01:47And I need to create a tiles for it.
01:50So first of all, we're going to hide the box.
01:52I'm going to go here.
01:53I'm going to add a plane.
01:55Now, in order to do the plane, I will show you this.
02:01An MLB cube is exactly a cube.
02:04Like that.
02:05The cube is the same size as the plane on the floor.
02:09But the problem is, I don't want a square tile.
02:12Even though I've made a few different kind of square tiles.
02:17I've made a couple different tiles.
02:20If you go look at them, you're about to see them.
02:22They're actually in the video download section.
02:24Go now look at them.
02:25If you're having problems downloading my content, let me know.
02:28Leave a comment on the video.
02:30And I will give you a specific page that you can actually just download.
02:35Just download the page.
02:36It's a book.
02:37It's a mobile book.
02:38Just download it.
02:39Put it in your computer.
02:40And if you want any other content.
02:42Just look in the book.
02:43And you'll see the content in there.
02:45Just click on it.
02:46Download it.
02:47As I said, it's good on it.
02:48Genuine content if you want it.
02:49But as I said.
02:50You might want.
02:51Let's suppose.
02:52Let's say.
02:53You download.
02:54Say the plane.
02:55The box.
02:56Whatever.
02:57And you decide.
02:58Today.
02:59You don't want it.
03:00Just delete it.
03:01And it's always in the book.
03:02Just go back to the book.
03:03Click it.
03:04Download it.
03:05And then just customize to it.
03:06Better shape it.
03:07However you want to do it.
03:08Click here.
03:09Mesh.
03:10Now I'll show you this.
03:11Just in case you don't know.
03:12Go to cylinder.
03:13Bring it in.
03:14Now there's too many cylinders on that.
03:17Now to make a floor looking tile.
03:19Change it to 8.
03:21And click here.
03:23And now it looks kind of big and squarely.
03:25I think.
03:26Yeah.
03:27Now.
03:28We're going to kind of keep it simple.
03:30So we're going to kind of turn it to the side.
03:32Of course.
03:33It's actually halfway through the floor.
03:35So.
03:36It doesn't matter.
03:37Take that.
03:38Scale it.
03:39Only scale it down.
03:40And no other way.
03:41Do you mean.
03:42We can go over here.
03:44Turn on weathering.
03:45Now some people like this.
03:46And some people don't.
03:47But I'm going to say.
03:48Just for now.
03:49Just scale it.
03:50About two squares.
03:51Just like that.
03:52Of course.
03:53It's going to be thick.
03:54So we really want to do one square.
03:56Ideally.
03:57But we'll do that.
03:58In a moment.
03:59In a moment.
04:00So I think.
04:01In here.
04:02In.
04:03Let's go have a look how thick it is.
04:04Yeah.
04:05That's a pretty big slab.
04:06I think in here.
04:07No.
04:08We definitely don't want to do squares.
04:10So we're going to go here.
04:12Now of course.
04:13To get it into one square.
04:14Just scale it down.
04:15Like this.
04:16And then.
04:17Just take this.
04:18Turn the snapping up.
04:19Zoom in.
04:20And you'll see more of those squares.
04:22Zoom up.
04:23Bring it up.
04:24Put it somewhere in the middle of that.
04:26Go back to scale.
04:27Go back to scale.
04:28And scale back out.
04:30It will scale really really slowly.
04:33Like that.
04:34And now it's roughly about right.
04:37So if you look at it.
04:38Yeah.
04:39I think really.
04:40If that's a slab.
04:41You want about half of that.
04:43Again.
04:44So you want to kind of scale it down.
04:45Even more than that.
04:46That's how I look at it.
04:48I think okay.
04:49Yeah.
04:50I can kind of live with that.
04:51For a slab.
04:52It's still really too wide.
04:53You want half of that.
04:54But.
04:55Yeah.
04:56Yeah.
04:57As I said.
04:58We don't want to take it too skinny.
04:59Because it's supposed to be a floor slab.
05:00But.
05:01Yeah.
05:02Anyway.
05:03I'm going to change it.
05:04Because I really don't like it.
05:05So go here.
05:06Zoom in.
05:07So you see the top squares.
05:08Now.
05:09Bring it in.
05:10And then.
05:11I'm going to move it out.
05:12Just a fraction.
05:13One.
05:14Two.
05:15Three.
05:16Four.
05:17Now.
05:18If I move it out again.
05:19It's going to move it out to six.
05:20Because it's going to add one other side.
05:21So.
05:22I'm going to leave four.
05:23Zoom in.
05:24Have a number look at it.
05:25And.
05:26Yeah.
05:27That's more like a floor tile.
05:28And of course.
05:29If you look at the size of it.
05:30Yeah.
05:31That's a blender floor tile.
05:32I figured that's absolutely massive.
05:33But.
05:34Okay.
05:35We'll probably want to be able to change that.
05:36Of course.
05:37We can leave it exactly in the position.
05:38That it's in.
05:39If we want to.
05:40Change it.
05:41Doesn't really matter.
05:42So click on it.
05:43I think.
05:44But we don't want it there.
05:45So we're going to zoom in.
05:46We're going to go into our frame.
05:47As I said.
05:48I'll show you from scratch.
05:49Just so you understand.
05:50I did make it from scratch.
05:51From absolutely nothing.
05:52Zoom in.
05:53I'm going to zoom in.
05:54So we're going to zoom in.
05:55I'm going to zoom in.
05:56I'm going to zoom in.
05:57I'm going to go into our frame.
05:58I'm going to show you from scratch.
05:59Just so you understand.
06:00I did make it from scratch.
06:01From absolutely nothing.
06:02Zoom in a little bit.
06:03And then kind of just tilt it.
06:04So it's nice and flat.
06:05Just kind of move it.
06:06So the line kind of lines up a little bit.
06:07As sometimes it'll be tricky.
06:08To kind of get it perfect.
06:09Like that.
06:10Now what you want to do here.
06:11Is you want to scale this down.
06:12And scale it down.
06:13And move it.
06:14Move it.
06:15Move it up.
06:16You see.
06:17You see how you see how you've got the blender square.
06:33If you chop it into four squares.
06:35You've got one square here.
06:37One square here.
06:38One down here.
06:40And one over here.
06:41So for now.
06:42I'm going to work on one square.
06:44Just working this one half.
06:46And nothing else.
06:47We'll leave this square right there.
06:49You have to come back out of standard mode.
06:53Okay.
06:54So we can leave this here.
06:55If we want to.
06:56Or we can hide the plane.
06:57Because it's in our way.
06:58Make sure it's in the middle of the actual platform.
07:01So it's almost there.
07:03Almost there.
07:04It's not quite touching there.
07:05But it is touching there.
07:07In here.
07:08Yeah.
07:09We can kind of zoom in.
07:10And just kind of.
07:11Just kind of.
07:12Push it a fraction.
07:13Now.
07:14If we go to scale.
07:15We can widen it a bit.
07:16So we actually touch the edges.
07:18Oh.
07:19Anyway.
07:20I don't need that.
07:21Copy that.
07:22paste it.
07:23Now.
07:24Of course.
07:25This one.
07:26Down.
07:27Find the middle.
07:28Of the square.
07:29And if you look at the square look.
07:31On the outside.
07:32Move into the middle.
07:33Of the square.
07:34So as I say.
07:35I'm just going to.
07:37Trying to work out.
07:38Roughly the middle.
07:39Of the square.
07:40Of the square.
07:41So it's back there.
07:42Probably.
07:43Really.
07:44In all honesty.
07:45Stopping.
07:46Okay.
07:47Let's take these two.
07:48Copy.
07:49Paste them.
07:50Select them.
07:51And move to the other side.
07:53So I think.
07:55Oh.
07:56Now it looks like that.
07:57So now we've got like.
07:58A bit of.
07:59A bit kind of.
08:00A crazy kind of paving.
08:01More or less.
08:02It's not crazy paving.
08:03Because it's like.
08:04It looks like a 50p piece.
08:06Okay.
08:07Let's go at the top of you.
08:08What else can we do with it?
08:09Well.
08:10We want to click on any one of them.
08:11Click this.
08:12Copy it.
08:13Paste it.
08:14Now.
08:15We want to move this down.
08:16Put it in the middle.
08:17And see.
08:18Kind of how it looks.
08:20Because we want to attach.
08:21Other.
08:22Other ones to this.
08:23So.
08:24If you look at.
08:25How it's made.
08:26Click on this.
08:27Copy it.
08:28Now.
08:29Don't worry about.
08:30How it's made.
08:31Copy it.
08:32Now.
08:33Don't worry about.
08:34How it's made.
08:35On the same.
08:36Copy it.
08:37Paste it.
08:38Just move everything.
08:39To exactly.
08:40Where it's supposed to be.
08:41Right on the edge.
08:42Of that.
08:43Copy it.
08:44Paste it.
08:45This.
08:46Right on the edge.
08:47Of that.
08:48So.
08:49As you can see.
08:50It's.
08:51It's a bit of a corner.
08:52Like a football.
08:53If you look at it.
08:54From that point of view.
08:55As I say.
08:56Depends on how you're looking at it.
08:57Really.
08:58Just move it over here.
08:59Back to the centre.
09:00Then drag it up.
09:01Put it exactly.
09:02On the line.
09:03Of course.
09:04We've got to fill the gaps in.
09:05Or it's not going to look too great.
09:06So.
09:07Yeah.
09:08Paste it.
09:09If you want to move this one down.
09:10Just drag it all the way down.
09:11Just drag it down.
09:12So it touches the line.
09:13Okay.
09:14Now.
09:15Obviously.
09:16Ideally.
09:17Now.
09:18If you notice.
09:19I've actually gone outside.
09:20Of the full squares.
09:21Yeah.
09:22But.
09:23I won't be outside.
09:24Of the full squares.
09:25Because.
09:26In a minute.
09:27I'm going to chop this off.
09:28Here.
09:29Chop it off.
09:30Here.
09:31Chop this part off.
09:32Chop this part off.
09:33It's just to give me.
09:34A kind of.
09:35Rough reference.
09:36Of how.
09:37I want the floor to look.
09:38And.
09:39If you look in the middle of here.
09:40We've got squares.
09:41I think.
09:42In here.
09:43Okay.
09:44So what we want to do.
09:45Is.
09:46We want to put a square in the middle of there.
09:47Let's bring that box back.
09:48Let's get on this box down.
09:49Let's click on the box.
09:50Scally.
09:51Scally.
09:52Go to the side.
09:53Now.
09:54Now.
09:55I'm going to put a square in the middle of there.
09:56Let's bring that box back.
09:57Let's get on this box down.
09:58Let's click on the box.
09:59Scally.
10:00Scally.
10:01Scally.
10:02Go to the side.
10:03Now.
10:04Of course.
10:05We know.
10:06It's only about 5 wide.
10:07So.
10:08I'm going to say.
10:09Yeah.
10:10Bring it up.
10:11Go here.
10:12Scally.
10:13Just.
10:14You can just scale it down.
10:15If it does that.
10:16It doesn't matter.
10:17Just.
10:18Just.
10:19Just scale it.
10:20Scale it down.
10:21And scale it down.
10:22We want to kind of keep it roughly about the same width of the slabs.
10:26So.
10:27We know it's about 5 little squares.
10:28Let's go back into the wireframe.
10:30As in.
10:31You might think it's a little bit of a kind of a long thing to do this.
10:36It's pretty long to do it.
10:37But erm.
10:38We'll have a really nice talking floor.
10:40By the time we're finished.
10:42So.
10:43Erm.
10:44How wide was your point?
10:46Was it 4 squares?
10:48I think it was 4 squares.
10:52I think.
10:53Double the size of it.
10:54It wasn't actually 4 squares.
10:55Because.
10:56I don't know.
10:57That's way too skinny.
10:58I think I'm going to tickle that.
10:59Bring it down to the slab.
11:00And then we can scale it back up.
11:01So.
11:02Scale it back up.
11:03Take that.
11:04Move it back down.
11:05So.
11:06If it's going to do that.
11:07What you can do.
11:08Is just snap it to the bottom.
11:09Don't worry about not being the exact same.
11:10And then just move it back up.
11:11Leave it on that.
11:12Because don't forget.
11:13We're going to be sizing it in a moment.
11:14OK.
11:15So.
11:16So.
11:17You see how small it is now.
11:18It's really really tiny.
11:19Put it over here.
11:20And go here.
11:21Now.
11:22What you want to do.
11:23Is get this corner more or less perfect.
11:24So.
11:25I want to scale it back up.
11:26So.
11:27If it's going to do that.
11:28Just snap it to the bottom.
11:29Don't worry about not being the exact same.
11:30And then just move it back up.
11:31Leave it on that.
11:32Because don't forget.
11:33We're going to be sizing it in a moment.
11:34OK.
11:35So you see how small it is now.
11:36It's really really tiny.
11:37Put it over here.
11:38And go here.
11:39Now.
11:40What you want to do.
11:41Is get this corner more or less perfect.
11:43So.
11:44I want to scale it out.
11:46Just scale it out.
11:47Right to the edge.
11:49That's almost exactly on the edge of that.
11:52So let's put it back here.
11:54Just how it's staging and four squares.
11:58Of course.
11:59We don't want a big massive gap.
12:00In the middle of that.
12:01We don't want that.
12:02Because.
12:03You know.
12:04The floor tile wouldn't have a gap.
12:05As big as.
12:06It wouldn't have a gap like that.
12:08It just wouldn't.
12:09So I think.
12:10And.
12:11And.
12:12So how are we going to do this.
12:14So.
12:15I think.
12:16It is.
12:17OK.
12:18Let's pick this one.
12:19Just temporarily.
12:20And we're going to move this in here.
12:23Touch that.
12:24We're going to just move that over here.
12:26That's a way.
12:27Take this one.
12:28Move this over.
12:29And touch that one.
12:30Move this one.
12:31Move this over.
12:32And touch.
12:33That one.
12:34Move this one.
12:35Over here.
12:36Touch.
12:37That one.
12:38And you can see.
12:39Now we're getting a bit of a shape on it.
12:40Now.
12:41Of course.
12:42We want this exactly perfect.
12:43So we want to get this way.
12:44Exactly in the middle of it.
12:45So we go here.
12:46Kind of just scale it up.
12:47So.
12:48As I said.
12:49Don't have it perfect.
12:50Because it's a slab.
12:51So we want a gap in it.
12:52Around the edge.
12:53But we're going to add the gap anyway.
12:54So it doesn't really matter.
12:55So.
12:56Just go here.
12:57Once we get the side of the cube.
12:58Go back to the side view.
12:59As you can see now it's way too wide.
13:00Go back into the wireframe.
13:01Check the top of it.
13:02And just bring it down.
13:03So it touches the slab.
13:04And now you don't have it perfect.
13:05It's a slab.
13:06As I said.
13:07Don't have it perfect.
13:08Because it's a slab.
13:09So we want a gap in it.
13:10So we want a gap in it.
13:11We want a range.
13:12But we're going to add the gap anyway.
13:13So it doesn't really matter.
13:14So just go here.
13:15Once we've got the side of the cube.
13:16Go back to the side view.
13:17Now it's way too wide.
13:18Go back into the wireframe.
13:20Click the top of it.
13:21And just bring it down.
13:22Just use the slab.
13:25And it doesn't matter if it sticks up.
13:27It doesn't matter if it sticks up a little bit.
13:29Because as it says to you.
13:30It's a slab.
13:31So.
13:32You know.
13:33They're not going to be perfectly flat.
13:35Well.
13:36If you want a perfectly flat.
13:37Okay.
13:38Now this is how it's working.
13:39So we're going to use these.
13:41So basically.
13:43Yeah.
13:44Anyway.
13:45So this is how my floor.
13:46Is going to look.
13:47So this is for the kind of cafe.
13:49Inside the Red Bagnalli.
13:50I'll be making a cafe food.
13:52To look like this.
13:53But just so it's not.
13:55A basic simple square food.
13:57So as I said.
13:58You can go back over here.
13:59Take this one.
14:01Move this.
14:03Onto here.
14:05It's kind of twitchy.
14:07Just getting new enough.
14:08We don't think exactly.
14:10As I said.
14:12Once we actually snap them together properly.
14:14You'll look great.
14:15But at the moment.
14:17Just don't worry about it.
14:18As I said.
14:19Just snap them into that.
14:20Just kind of get the shape.
14:21That you're looking for.
14:22Just so you've got an idea.
14:23Of how.
14:24Actually the gap up there.
14:25Like it's too wide.
14:26It doesn't matter.
14:27Because it's a floor tile.
14:28And.
14:29You're going to have gaps in it.
14:30You might have a bigger gap than that.
14:31So.
14:32What you would do here now.
14:33Just to make it a nice.
14:34You do a copy and paste that.
14:35Of course.
14:36Want to put colors on it.
14:37And textures on it.
14:38It's going to have a different.
14:39So stop that.
14:40Right in the middle of that gap.
14:41Copy this one.
14:42Paste it.
14:43This one.
14:44Into this gap.
14:45Into this gap.
14:46Okay.
14:47So that's how.
14:48That's how.
14:49That's how.
14:50It's going to have a different.
14:51So stop that.
14:52Right in the middle of that gap.
14:53Copy this one.
14:54Paste it.
14:55Grab this one.
14:56Drag it over here somewhere.
14:57Just follow the lines.
14:58You can see it all joins up.
14:59Copy that.
15:00Paste it.
15:01Add this one.
15:02Into this gap.
15:03Okay.
15:04So that's our very first floor tile.
15:05For our cafe.
15:06So of course.
15:07As I say.
15:08You can have it.
15:09Have it.
15:10You want.
15:11Whatever.
15:12As I say.
15:13You can have it.
15:14Just a simple plain floor tile.
15:15If you want to.
15:16I'm having these floor tiles.
15:17Because later on in the game world.
15:18What I will be doing.
15:19When the character.
15:20Is.
15:21Is.
15:22I know.
15:23If you want to.
15:24I'm going to have these floor tiles.
15:25Because later on in the game world.
15:26What I will be doing.
15:27When the character.
15:28So.
15:29If you want to.
15:30When the character walks into the actual shop what I can do is I hold your barra key, reflect these
15:41and then all I have to do is go scale. So my character walks into the shop
15:46and then suddenly out of the floor four pillars appear. I don't have to do that. If I want to,
15:56if I do want to, I can have my character walk in. She can stand on the pillar and the whole pillar
16:03can lift off the floor. So she goes up to the next level. As I said, it's up to you. Anyway the idea
16:12of this cafe and this particular floor is when my character steps on this part of the floor
16:17is it either goes up to the ceiling or up into the attic or you go down into the basement.
16:26It's like a secret compartment. That's what it is. There's a lot of secrets inside Van Bonelli
16:31and it's mostly to do with kind of like hidden air vents, hidden tiles in the floor. So it's good to
16:40check the tiles on the floor every now and then. You might find a little secret and you might even
16:45find a bonus. So as I said, when you get to play the game, I think you're going to like it anyway.
16:50This is my floor tiles. This is my floor tile collection if you want it. I'll go here, save it,
16:56action before I save it. Here, apply, transform. Here, I'm going to export it as a blender folder.
17:04Okay, so if I want to colour those, I can click on any one. I want to make sure it's in object mode. Go here,
17:14texture, say yeah. And then if I just give it a colour, I can add a colour to it. Just give it a second,
17:20wait for blends to catch up. Put a shield on it. Go here, live mode. Now if I change the colour of that,
17:26I'm going to have a blender green. As you can see, now our filter tile now changes green. So we can go here,
17:34pick the colour. Again, we'll have a blender green. Go here, new colour, yes. Press this,
17:42eye dropper, blend the green. Go here, and we'll have another blender green because we're going to change
17:48the colour. Of course, you won't have a colour. You might have a UV map. I don't want that colour.
17:52That's that. Press the eye dropper. Go to the centre. Of course, now we can have the same colour,
18:00if you want to change it to a different colour. You can have that colour. And then we can go here,
18:07you have a different colour. So we're going to have a blender, kind of dark grey, black,
18:15whatever colour you want to call that. It's not really black, but yeah, it's kind of a blender colour.
18:22So I don't know. As I say, you wouldn't have them dark anyway. Well, maybe you would. I don't really know
18:29inside the cafe. But it's up to you. As I say, it's your floor tile, you can do whatever you want.
18:35So I'm going to give them some random colours, just so you know it's a template.
18:41So as I said, when I kind of get around properly to doing it, I'll pick some half decent colours.
18:50So we need to go on the internet, go to Google, look at some cafes for a little bit of inspiration,
18:57and see what colour the floor tiles are. As I say, it wouldn't have in that particular colour.
19:02But I'm just saying, I'm going to show you how to do it. Now, if you want to export that as an OBG,
19:07like that, or whatever you want. If you want to put it into a CryEngine, or a RealEngine,
19:14you can just export it as an MPX, and you can put it into any one of the engines.
19:18If you use UnrealEngine, I'm going to tap with you, export it as a Glyph folder,
19:23because you can actually import that directly into UnrealEngine, which is great. It's great for me.
19:30Yeah, great. I like to use Collider myself personally.
19:34Yeah, well, I think they're trying to get rid of the Collider folder, I think, in the future.
19:40So I don't think this file will be here in the future.
19:43Well, I hope it is, because most of my models are Colliders, so I might have to convert them all over
19:50to the new Glyph folder. So yeah, anyway, so that's what I want to do. So at the moment,
19:56I do export my files as Collider, but the ones I share on the internet, I export them as Glyph.
20:03I also export an OBJ version, because the OBJ is probably the oldest file in the whole of Windows,
20:11and in 3D software. So it's pretty green, it's pretty simple, and it's kind of easy to use.
20:19Anyway, it's up to you, whatever you want to export it, and I'll say,
20:23I'll say, if you look down the menu, sometimes, yeah, you see how it's got a legacy on it?
20:29Now, sometimes this one says legacy on it, and this one says legacy on it. Now, I don't know if you're
20:36going to get rid of the OBJs, honestly, but there might be, there might not be, I don't know.
20:41Actually, no. Because if you look down here, this one says, look, it says wavefront. It's an OBJ,
20:48and it says legacy. Okay, and now up here, we've got the wavefront, same folder,
20:54and it's not a legacy. Okay, you can hear, what's the difference between that one and that one?
20:59Yeah, I don't know what the difference is. It's the same folder, so I don't know. So anyway,
21:08anyway, talk to you, anyway, that's kind of what I want to show you today. So, yeah, keep an eye on this,
21:12this is going to be the cafe. Now, what I will do when I'm ready, I'll show, um, I was going to bring
21:19Emery to show you, but, um, I don't need to bring her in, really. Um, I want to kick the whole entire floor tile,
21:24I want to zoom in, snap, snap this down to the floor. That's not quite on the floor, it's actually
21:32off the floor, look, drag it down a little bit more, so it touches the floor. Go back to here,
21:38apply more transforms, so it actually stays on the floor. Now, the M-A-B cube, it can't go outside of the
21:49cube, it's too much, it's too big. So, what you'd want to do, is go to scale, zoom in, and you would
21:56scale the whole thing to a M-A-B cube. Now that, believe it or not, is an M-A-B cube floor panel. So, yeah,
22:06it doesn't matter how you're looking at it, that's an M-A-B cube floor plane. So, as I said, go here,
22:11save me. As I said, the difference between an M-A-B cube and a blender cube, it's, I'll zoom in for
22:19you, and I'll show you. You see, you see the little squares? The M-A-B cube is two little squares
22:26smaller than the big blender cube. So, if you bring in the blender cube, I'll just go here, bring it around
22:34the cube. As you can see the size of it. So, what I would do, if this was an M-A-B cube, I'll basically
22:40go into a wireframe. I would zoom into it. This is how we do it. Zoom in, so you can see the little squares.
22:49Zoom in, and then what you do is scale it.
22:53One, two. Once you're scaling twice like that, I know you can't see them, but once you're scaling twice,
23:00that is an M-A-B cube. If it were, how come I'll scale it down two? Well, there's a very simple reason
23:09for that. If you make a room, you need a floor, a brickwork on the side of the wall, and a ceiling.
23:17Now, watch what happens. If I click the box, turn it like this, and edit. I'm going to show you this,
23:26you understand it. Click the box. Go back to side view. Zoom in, and you go to extrude. Go here, snap.
23:35Snap it back up. Not that far. That's way too much. Okay, we can't come outside of the blender cube.
23:44We've got to scale it up twice. One, two. Now, what you do is take this face. Don't forget you have a
23:51ceiling and a floor. So you'll pull it up to, you'll pull it out to, pull it this side out to,
23:58you pull the floor down to, and then what you do is obviously you click on this.
24:05Okay, so you go all around it if you want to. As I said, I can do it if you want to see. Go to the
24:11side view. And of course, again, you don't want to exceed the two boxes. So just stretch the ceiling
24:20over to the edge of the actual blender cube. And now we've got a ceiling inside the house.
24:28Now we've put a right inside there, and it works great as a ceiling. Don't forget you wouldn't just
24:34pull the ceiling out. You'd also go to the side. So you'd pull the side out a little bit, pull this side out,
24:40and then you'd pull the whole lot together. So you've actually got an actual room for the cafe.
24:48As I said, go back. As I said, if you're watching the actual content, the making of the content,
24:54then you'll understand what I mean. So what I'll do show you, click here.
24:58Just kind of, you have to zoom into little squares because as I said, it's two squares,
25:02it's two little squares short. One, two. So now it's a blender cube, again. Okay.
25:09So it's an M&P cube, but it's also a blender cube. So if it's a house, it's a blender cube.
25:19If it's an M&P cube item, then it's two squares smaller. Yeah, it sounds kind of crazy.
25:27But anyway, yeah, when you start using the content, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
25:32Come on this side. Click the edge. Click this edge. Not that edge. That one down there.
25:44Back to the side.
25:48And then I pull that edge out. I pulled the whole face out.
25:52Let's just do the whole face. As I said, it doesn't really matter anyway.
26:01Because I'll just turn that into a shelf, so it doesn't matter.
26:04Okay, once you're happy with the building, like that, then what you do is you click the edges.
26:10And don't forget, this is going to build the ceiling and the walls and so forth.
26:20Okay, so make sure you go right in the corner.
26:22Then you just go back and go back in a moment and check it.
26:28So it's kind of half tilting, make sure you get that corner.
26:30Obviously it's not straight anyway.
26:33Well, I'm just kind of showing you a reference, so you understand what to do.
26:37Once you do all that, click it to the side.
26:39Look at the four squares and stretch it.
26:46And then go back and now here's your tunnelway for the house.
26:50Of course, yeah, this is basically that's the opening for the shop.
26:54And then what you do is you go inside the building and you delete the door.
27:00And you can continue through the shop.
27:01You say, oh, hang on a minute.
27:03We're inside the cafe now because there's the floor.
27:06Of course, the building needs to be lifted out the floor.
27:10And then, of course, you go over here and you delete the back wall.
27:13So you can walk right through the building and out the back.
27:17Anyway, it's up to you how you want to do it, as I said.
27:20We don't have to put the ceiling in here because the ceiling is already there.
27:23The walls are already there.
27:24These walls are there.
27:25The floor is already there.
27:27But we don't want that floor.
27:29We want that floor.
27:31So I think in here we can't agree.
27:32So check this.
27:33So what we do is check this.
27:36Of course, it's not going to look right because obviously we haven't moved the floor.
27:40So we've stacked this up.
27:43Go back and have another look at it.
27:46Obviously look at your floor tile.
27:48As I said, you get the kind of idea of the floor weight.
27:51And you notice how the tiles go from the brickwork to the brickwork.
27:54Because it's actually an MBQ.
27:57That's what it is.
27:58So, yeah.
28:00Don't forget if there's any kind of little mistakes down the side.
28:03It doesn't matter.
28:03It's a floor tile.
28:04So I'm saying if there's any mistakes down the side, you don't have to worry about that.
28:08Because we can put a skirting board on it to hide the edge.
28:12We don't need to do that because it's perfect.
28:14I'm saying if you wanted to do that, you could.
28:17And as I said, you wouldn't have those colours in the first place.
28:20Anyway.
28:20If you're interested in watching the actual cafe he's made, continue watching our MBQ content.
28:26So these are going to be the floor tiles inside the cafe.
28:29I need to work out roughly how big my cafe is going to be.
28:34So I'm thinking, I was going to do it four blender squares long.
28:40But I'm thinking, I might have to do bigger than that.
28:46Because when I look at it, I'm thinking, if I put a table in here.
28:50A table is going to take up, let's say, half of that square.
28:54So I think, okay, we take up, let's say, let's say the table takes up one square like that.
29:00So I think, okay, let me just bring a little cube in.
29:03So you can understand the asset.
29:04I'd like to explain the content to you so you can actually understand it.
29:07Just in case you're kind of younger and you're kind of making the content.
29:11Scale it down roughly to about a square.
29:14So I think, okay, just snap it in there somewhere like that.
29:17Okay, so we can go top view and we can move it into position.
29:21As I said, obviously it's not a table, but we'll kind of get an idea where the table is going to go.
29:28So, okay, so the tables go in here.
29:31Don't forget the tables will have chairs on the other side of it.
29:34So it can't go there and it can't go there.
29:38So the table has to go back there.
29:40The chair is going to go back there.
29:42And another chair, back there.
29:45We need a footpath, like a walkway, which is going to have to be at least two square void.
29:51So two people, so one can walk out and somebody can walk in.
29:55As I said, we don't want it too close.
29:58And I think in here, okay, so we want a bit of a dwelling area, maybe over here on the left.
30:04Maybe over here on the right hand side.
30:07Don't forget, this could be the bar over here.
30:11Then we've got a little bit of, yeah, so let's say there's a bar over here.
30:16So we could change that to a bar.
30:19So pretend that's a bar.
30:21Then this one, this one is going to be a walkway.
30:24And over here would be a chair, a table, another chair.
30:29So yeah, it's going to be pretty, pretty wide, honestly.
30:35So I think if I zoom out and look at it, I think I'm going to have to make this cafe at least 10 squares across.
30:44Otherwise it's going to be really, really kind of super skinny and it's not going to really work.
30:49So what I'll do, I'll make it 10 across and I'll make it 10 wide.
30:54So yeah, when you're in there, as I said, when you're actually in the cafe, it's going to be, it's going to look pretty big.
31:02Anyway, keep a lot of content if you're just in there, anything you can do.
31:05As soon as I start making the assets for it, because I'm making all different assets.
31:09I'm making the asylum assets.
31:12I'm still making red band alley assets.
31:15I'm making the school assets and you have to keep it on the content.
31:19I made a few doors so far.
31:21If you want those, go and get them.
31:24I've made a couple of hallways, a couple of pantries, like little cupboards.
31:30I've made those.
31:31Anyway, just keep an eye on the content.
31:34You will learn a lot and as I said, I'm just showing you how to make the content from absolutely nothing.
31:39So as I said, click on that, get rid of that.
31:42Click that, get rid of that, because all we want is that.
31:46So we're going to save this because this is what you'll be getting in the next few days.
31:51So, yeah, I'm just going to kind of tweak it a bit more, because one I didn't do one here.
31:57Before you go around and do this one, this one, this one, all of these.
32:00You only have to do one of these and one of these, and then basically just redraw, just basically
32:06just put it back where they are.
32:07What you want to do is click on it.
32:10This is what I'm going to, what I'm going to do.
32:12Go here, edit.
32:14It goes here to Bevan.
32:17Just kind of go to the side view, kind of get a view where it is.
32:21Just kind of zoom in and it'll be as a, because we'll do one there in a way, you can't really see.
32:29If you turn around, you're about to see which one it is.
32:31Just kind of rub it and kind of just stretch it a little bit.
32:36Not too much, just stretch it a little bit.
32:38And then the edges, only put two on it.
32:43So do that.
32:45Now if you go and look at that, if you go and look at that slab.
32:52You see how it's got like an old edge around it.
32:55Obviously when you put it in the game world, and obviously, now when I do that to that one and that one,
33:00I'm not doing it all, I'm only doing it to that one.
33:03And then I'm going to copy and paste it, put it there, there, there, there, there, there.
33:07And then I need to do, I need to do this one, so I need to click here.
33:11Click this, again you want to do exactly the same thing, click here.
33:17Because you need to, you need to bevel it, so click on it and just bevel it.
33:25And obviously you don't get, you don't want to bevel it too much, just bevel it a little bit.
33:29Can't look at anything, now I can't actually see, so let's just undo that.
33:34Click this one, and what we can do, we can just hide that.
33:40Click that, we can hide that.
33:44Hide that, it's just so that they're not actually in our way.
33:47When you click it, click back this one, click back this one, click this.
33:50Back to the side view, spin around until you can kind of see where it is.
33:54Zoom in, bring it into the middle of the screen.
33:59As I don't have it perfect, just, just kind of make it near enough.
34:03Okay, just kind of bevel it, just, just a little bit.
34:06I'm, I'm going by that one there, look, you see the bevel on it, that's what I'm going by.
34:14Now put, put, put, put you on it, click off it, go back and now have a look at that one.
34:20Making sure it looks kind of similar.
34:23Where's the ones that are beveled?
34:26These are the ones here that are beveled, so just turn this around.
34:28As I said, you can't really tell if it's beveled or not, but as I said, when you look at it properly,
34:35I'll just look, you can see which one's beveled and which one's not, and it's not actually leveled.
34:41So if you click on it, and then we can call it, drag it over, so it touches the edge of the actual thing.
34:49As I said, look, I didn't click the edge of that, I've only clicked that, so it doesn't undo that.
34:53Click off it, click the thing itself, go back to the top view.
35:00Now, just go here, so it's set origin to geometry, and then just move it over just a smidgen,
35:07and the bevel will almost line up, it won't be exactly, because I, I don't want it exactly,
35:13because I want a little bit of a gap in it, a little bit of a crack, that's how I'm having it.
35:17So when you look from the side view of this, it's got like a little bit of a gap down the side of me,
35:23but of course, I would take that, and I would move it back a fraction like that,
35:28just so it's got a crack in it, down the gap.
35:33That's, anyway, that's what I'm going to tell you.
35:35So anyway, all I'm going to do now is copy and paste that all the background,
35:39copy and paste all three of these, and everything will work great.
35:47And then, all I'm going to do is just copy and paste the whole entire floor tile.
35:51If I want to do this, I can. I can get rid of the light, I don't need that.
35:55I don't need the floor plane, I can get rid of that.
35:57I don't need the camera, get rid of that.
35:59Make a new file, copy all of it, right to here, paste it.
36:07Copy the whole thing, right to top mode.
36:10And don't forget now, from extending the floor, all I do is move the floor like this.
36:21And then of course, all I have to do is kind of attach that to there, like that.
36:27I'll use the snapping tool so it snaps.
36:29And now all I've got to do, basically, once I do that,
36:32is just copy and paste that, put it in there, copy and paste that, put it in there,
36:36and now my floor is a whole lot of way done.
36:39I think it's absolutely perfectly great.
36:41And not only that, it's going on an angle.
36:43I think it'll get my roomy square.
36:46But as I said, it doesn't matter how you do it, because you know what,
36:48you can, once you make it properly, I'll say, I'll show you, talk to you.
36:53And I'll only show you roughly, you know, you see how I made it kind of sideways?
36:57Yeah, I wouldn't make it like that, I'd make it perfectly flat.
37:00So I can make it, so I'll go straight from the bottom, straight to the top.
37:04And then I will just rotate the floor, like that.
37:08And then anything that sticks over the edge, like that, I'll just chop it off.
37:13That's what I do.
37:14Anyway, so yeah, I hope you love the content.
37:16So as I said, get rid of that.
37:18And then when you're happy with the content, I'll just show you this anyway.
37:22Take all this.
37:23Go here, because here is all separate.
37:25Go here, export it as an OBJ.
37:27I'll show you this, just so you know how to export it.
37:33Turn the smoothing out of all that business.
37:36Okay, you don't need that one.
37:37That's physical-based render, and you don't need that one.
37:39Just export that, delete it, go back here, import it, import the OBJ.
37:47This one here, if you're wondering what this is, because somebody did ask me,
37:51he said, what's the file that comes with it?
37:53The file that comes with it, this one here, that's the color of the objects.
37:58So if you delete that, it won't have a color.
38:04It will just be basically just gray.
38:07So then you have to go back to it, and you have to change the colors.
38:12Now if you want to change the colors, I've got hiccups for the polydors.
38:17If you want to change the colors, just go to the colors here, and then just change it.
38:22And then we can have that one, I don't know, we can have that one, and that color.
38:26So that's which one it is, look.
38:28So I'm thinking, oh yeah, we don't want to do that.
38:30But as I say, if you want to know which one it is, just basically pick any color,
38:34so it changes that one, and then obviously just change the colors, whatever you want.
38:37As I said, it's all together now, it's all one, watch.
38:43You see, it's all one piece, but really it's not, because if you go here, watch.
38:49If you go back to import, import it.
38:52If you tell it to split it by group, so yeah, look, everything is separate.
38:59So if you want to know how to split the actual thing, like this, look, I can now move that piece out.
39:07As I say, even though it's an OBJ, and it looks like it's one piece, it's not one piece.
39:13It's only one piece if I don't split it.
39:17So just leave it on that, and go import, and now it's just one single piece,
39:22which is kind of great, because now what I'm going to do is go top mode, look at the floor tile,
39:28here, rotate it.
39:32Rotate it so it's nice and flat.
39:34Move it into position, whatever, whatever position I want it.
39:39I want it about there.
39:41As I said, I don't want it to exceed that.
39:43I don't want it to do that.
39:46And then all I'm going to do now is copy and paste this one, this one here.
39:51Now ideally, what I would do here, this is exactly what I would do.
39:55I would actually import it, I would split it, bring it back in, line it up, so it's like that.
40:01Then I'd copy and paste that, put it there, copy and paste that, put it there.
40:05All the way around, an inch.
40:07Then I'd put the boxes into the centers, and then that's it.
40:12Then I'll save it back out, and that's one perfect square for my game world.
40:16So as I said, it has to cover the entire four squares, because I will show you.
40:23You see the plane?
40:26That's the standard Blender plane.
40:29And you don't quite cover the plane, you don't.
40:32And obviously we don't want edges like that on the edge of the actual thing.
40:37We want it perfectly square.
40:39So when we put it on the floor, it's a perfect floor, so that's how you want it.
40:44But as I said, if you want to, to make it look a bit more fancy around the edges,
40:50you can take this part, not that part, not this part, take this.
40:56You want to snap it in here a little bit, snap it in here a little bit, leave yourself a gap around it.
41:02That way, when you put the box in here, you can put like a little border around it.
41:07So when you snap it to the next one, it's just going to be easier to snap the box to the box.
41:13It's just going to be easier for you.
41:15And knowing that, it looks nice and neat, and looks nice and tidy.
41:18Anyway, come back and watch the next part, and I'll show you more about it.
41:22So anyway, stay safe, keep friendly, and I really hope you like the content.
41:26See you soon. Bye.
