00:00hello hi welcome back to the asylum manhole now in here I've already
00:06UV mapped the building itself I'm going to show you how to UV map it
00:09now I'll show you a certain part of it because it's the same process over and
00:15over again go to your down roots as I've done the room I haven't done the handles
00:19I haven't done the door yet so I'll split the room up into these are the beds
00:24these are shelves so we can do the shelves because there's quite a few of them
00:28so we'll do shelf number one this is a shelf what you want to do is UV map it
00:33don't move it leave it where it is because it's already set in the level okay so
00:38of course once you're UV map it you can put it up here in back in the middle of the floor if you want to
00:43and have it just as a standard single asset because you only need to UV map one
00:48and you can copy and paste it copy and paste it well yeah anyway I want to do one
00:53separate so just to let you know that and not only that I want to do with that so
00:57you'll understand how to do it come over here UV map look at the model just go
01:02here and go select edit select all of it now what you should see you should see
01:09that on there you see how you can't see if that happens to you like that and you
01:15can't see and I want to tell you the best way to do that you go to blender reset
01:21blender delete that and I'll show you sometimes when you're working on a model it
01:28actually does that and you can't see so if you want shelf number one so load it in so it's there
01:33don't move it just go here UV okay as soon as you go to edit mode and go select all
01:40be sure to see that on here you see okay well we can't see go over here go smart map just try it and see if it does it okay so it does do it okay sometimes it doesn't do it you have to
01:52you have to kind of restart it okay once you've done that go here export the map it's called it
02:01it automatically causes what it is okay so whatever you call it that's what it's
02:06going to call it I'm going to put UV on it on the downloads and then I'm going to leave it in here
02:13so yeah I want to move this down a fraction so I can actually see what I'm doing in the
02:18background here so what I want to do now is create a texture for it go texture we
02:23don't have a photograph for it so we're going to create some random one go here of course I want
02:28the name of it so go back just call it the same name or except at the end of it so call it the same name
02:38apologize for that go back to here call it the same name at the end of it just call it TX for texture
02:44if you want to call it photo doesn't matter okay go do that go to here save it it will save it in the
02:53same folder don't name it leave it go in here once you've saved it go just go to the file and you
02:59see blender always puts this at the end of it just delete that part and just have that bit okay now
03:06just leave it on that come out of this mode I normally tell you to go into the standard layer go over
03:12here press checkerboard say yeah open it open it go to the standard go to the dead road opening
03:20you're looking for the UV map if you can't see if you can't cut your name up you can see the name if
03:26you can't see your name just press that you're looking for you're not looking for the one with the
03:29color you're looking for the the gray one the black and white one press that load it put a shield on it to lock it onto the
03:36onto the actual mechanism click here we can give it a name if you want to so go back go back to your texture
03:44copy your name double click it give it a name that way it knows that that texture belongs to that cupboard
03:52go here open open now we want the black one the cupboard will turn black that's what we'll do
04:00so just give it a second go here no textures as you can see sherry's turned black now of course we don't want
04:06a black cupboard it won't let's see in the level okay put a shield on it okay go to textures now you
04:12see how it's here you can paint it here if you want to but I'm going to tell you just for now just so
04:17you get the hang of it okay go to the paint bucket okay go to here pick a random color so I'm going to
04:24pick blended orange and I'm going to take the orange and I'm going to move it about about there somewhere
04:31just something near enough just something like that once you've done that just throw the paint
04:36looking on it and it will change color okay kind of great really you what you would do is you pick
04:45one texture for the cup for the cupboards or this one and then all you do you just keep using the same
04:51texture for all the cupboards so um yeah anyway so I'm recording cupboard one thing like that so that's how
04:57it is this is most important part make sure you click object click the object and then export it
05:06otherwise you won't export the model so go here now you want cupboard number one shelf number one
05:13I apologize go here delete that tick the boxes
05:20tick the boxes tick the boxes tick the boxes and say okay now it's already come out so it's out now so

06:22wood color just do one cupboard and then when you put it back in the level just just basically copy and
06:27paste it and move it somewhere else that way all the cupboards are the same unless of course
06:31different you have to you remap every single one separately well anyway that's covered one so as
06:39I said you see you see you see now we got the color for it what we can do here we can kind of cheat a
06:44little bit so I want to go here and I'm going to go I want to leave I want to keep the same texture
06:50I want to call it number two and I'm going to delete the map okay so I want to delete the actual map itself
06:58so I want to copy this name now what I want to do is go here and delete that I can delete this too
07:06I'll go back here I can import now I want to import number two so you bring number two it's down there
07:15okay first of all you want to go to UV map make sure it's in edit mode select here select all of it
07:21okay go to UV smart UV but it maps it because it's the same map just go here click here click here okay
07:31just just go to the end of this and just type UV on it okay leave it now don't don't create a texture for
07:42because we've already got it okay because we just renamed it go here add the actual unit the actual
07:50texture for it the UV map so add that and we're going to load exactly the same texture as last time
07:58except we've already done it renamed it so copy the name give it a new name so it thinks it's a different
08:06texture but it's not it's the same one go here load it it's just kind of a kind of a cheating way to
08:13kind of cheat do that put a shield on it bring it up find your model it's there now you can't see the
08:20texture on it at the moment so just leave it on that at the moment just go here click that click on it
08:27go here export now we can just export this back out as standard shelf number two so we just go here
08:42number two so yeah click this delete it go back in import the brand new one so we've got one we've got
08:51two we need three so bringing number three we want to go back to the uv map again select all the uv map smart okay
09:01because i'm using the smart map on all the day it's just it's just easier for us to do this so as a
09:08so this is number three so this is shelf three and we want to go with this so yeah go back into standard
09:19mode as a it's just a faster way to do it go back to here refresh the texture we want uv3
09:27and we want the material now the material we haven't changed it go back to the material don't open it
09:33go back to the material change it to number three copy the name go back to here rename it press enter put the shield on it
09:51open press open on it get open and then load in the texture number three wherever it is so we want texture
09:59three which is here load that say yeah okay go back to standard mode if you want to see it come back out
10:07export glyph this one number three say okay okay click that go back in one last time because we've got four
10:18shelves sorry we've got five shelves i thought we had four shelves okay so we've got we've got four
10:25shelves so bring the shelf in this is this this is shelf in before so i'm gonna i'm gonna rename the shelf
10:35so i'm gonna put number four on that i'll put number four on that i don't need to really do that but
10:42that's what i'm gonna do click that go over to the uv map select all of it go to smart uv smart uv say yes
10:52click here export export that you see whatever i call it that's what it's called so delete that
11:00just go uv export that go back to the texture as i said i'm using the same texture for all of it
11:08it's only paint that's all it is it's not it's not really a texture so okay go back into the object mode
11:15stick on the actual uv for it so apply number four no we want number four uv i think well we have a
11:24safety safety where is the uv map so we haven't got it so please go back into edit mode click here
11:33exported oh if we did i saved in my documents thinking and how crazy is that okay i'll just move
11:43it if i want to i'm not going to do that i'm just going to basically copy it over and leave it there
11:48i'll just make a new one and i'll go here now i'm looking for uv number four and i want texture number
11:56four which is the same texture so go here texture four i want to copy the name of that it's just so
12:05when you look for it he knows what it's looking for so he's looking for the exact same texture
12:12for the exact same model take that go back to standard if you want to see it makes you click on it
12:17go here export glyph so this one number four delete it and then go back in one last time and we're going
12:28to bring back in the collider number five so this is the last cupboard so as you can see it's not called
12:34number five it's called number one so we'll change that even though it's got a number at the end of it
12:41but yeah we will just do that so i think okay leave it on that go back into the uv texture thing go here
12:50select all of it go smart uv smart uv go back to uv exported make sure it's in downloads go there
12:59leave it here go to the end of that get rid of all that type on uv say okay go back into object mode go here
13:08load uv 5 texture we're going to load it we can't load it yet so well we can load it but it doesn't
13:19really matter but just go here change the form to five and i'm going to recommend you copy the name
13:29now you can just go here open it find texture number five put the shield on it put the shield on it
13:38go here do a click here give it a name because it's called number five because it is number five
13:46which is not really number one we'll go here export and then we want number five and that's all the
13:54the shower is done all we have to do now with the beds go back to here import okay again we can just
14:01do the same thing for the beds so you want to import the color now your bed number one and look at what
14:09color is the bed probably the same color and temporarily until we actually find a nice texture for it
14:16and then we want to put a different texture on the mattress if we want to put a mattress on it so at the
14:22moment we're going to go to bed i'm going to press ctrl c to copy the name of it i'm going to press the
14:27uv map i'll go here select all of it go here smart uv i only just smart uv anyway i just do it that way you
14:39you don't have to do it that way i'll just do it that way go here and go export max download back into
14:45here and call bed number one put a space and then just go save we want to create at least one texture
14:57for it so just create a new texture we're calling it bed okay we're calling it bed and we're going to call it tx
15:07okay so all the beds are going to have one same texture okay those asking what color i want is this
15:15same color in the cupboard we click on that and we can just drag it up a little bit make the bed a
15:19little bit lighter throw the color on top of the thing it'll tell you to do texture okay go here load the
15:29texture uv map so find the bed okay we've got no texture for yet nothing in here kind of great so
15:39what you want to do is create a texture for it the texture is here oh yeah just save that
15:46and don't name it just save it so we just here look just get rid of this part so we've got a basic kind
15:55of standard text load the texture even though it's not really a texture but yeah just just load it
16:04just to save yeah any problems so give it a second load it find the texture load it obviously it's going
16:12to be black anyway because that's what color is i think that's what color the texture is i think
16:18okay so we want to just name that so we just call it bed so i'll copy this
16:26and we'll call it one two three well we won't call the texture that we'll call the texture that
16:31because it's a texture okay so now go back to the paint bucket take the paint bucket make
16:37because don't forget we already moved it just throw it on top of the throw it on top of the bed go
16:42here and press save now the image is saved all we have to do is export the bed click the bed go here export
16:52glyph okay this one's called bed
16:57and it's bed number one okay delete the bed i said you just do this for like for everything that
17:04you've got but of course you've got a better texture it's gonna look better so we can get rid of that
17:10let's go back to here import find bed number two of course the same bed so what you want to do here
17:18you just go to the uv map go here select all of it just smart uv that way it's all pretty smart if
17:27that's not turned on you can go into into settings just type smart just type uv there
17:34and you'll see smart uv just tick the box come down here and save it that's it that's all you do
17:41so anyway do that once you've done it go here save the uv as i'm just showing you just in case you
17:48don't know how to turn it on okay so just do that it's called number two again type uv just so it's
17:57easier to find now of course go into standard mode load the new uv so we want bed number two
18:07and we want bed texture number one it's not called number one it's just called bed texture
18:13so press that so obviously all the textures are going to have the same tx so we're going to have
18:19the same folder copy the name go to the actual thing give it a name that's just so you can find it later
18:28just so it's nice and easy go to standard layer and you can see that's what color is
18:34as i said it don't look much like that when he's kind of sitting on the floor like that but um it's
18:40not supposed to be look too too fantastic at the moment so as i said we can add drawers to it we can
18:47add mattresses to it pillows to it blankets to it and we can add a bit more shape to it if we want to
18:53but for now just to kind of get things up and working in the game though we're thinking okay let's
18:58just start at least somewhere i think okay so we want to create a new uv for that okay so here's a
19:06uv for it so we'll call it bed and this is bed number three
19:12update that go over here go over here select all that go over here smart uv leave it like that come
19:22here export back to download back in here leave it just give it a name at the end of it call it uv click
19:34coffee take it pick that coffee go back to the uv the texture thing go back to number three load number
19:43three go back in here number two go here load the same bed texture because that way all the beds are
19:53the same just temporarily we could change the texture anytime we want so put that there go back to here
20:00copy that and then just paint it back in there i don't know why it doesn't name itself when when you
20:07click on it where it doesn't do it so anyway go here export now we can go to here and we can go to
20:16bed number three now what you want to do here is because now imagine now that you've done the whole
20:24entire map which i've already done it all so i'll show you go here you go to your downloads look at
20:31all of your your items so these are all my items these are my external items inside here are the main
20:38items okay so this one here is the room itself load the room as you can see i'm already uv mapped i've done
20:46it the exact same weight there's no different i'll just paint it all gray go here you can click off it
20:52if you want to go here import now of course you i want to save it all out as one thing this one is
20:59the bars inside of the staircase inside here give it a second you'll load the bars in there like
21:06that so when we fall down there we can climb down the bars now what you'd want to do here ideally
21:14is because you're already lit up i'll use your whole control right on the keyboard click that
21:19go here go here go parent so they all go inside it i think perfect that way if you move that it will
21:27go if you will as if you don't want to parent it you can select it all go back to here go back to
21:33parent and clear the parent and they'll all come back outside again there's no point leave it like that
21:39because it's all to do with the same thing go here import so we've imported go back i'm loading
21:48the wrong file go back to here import the glyph folder so we've got the room we've got the bars we
21:55want the staircase put the staircase in the middle floor as you can see we mapped it is again it's um
22:02yeah it's just a brown staircase so you can paint it whatever color you want to paint it i'm only
22:06giving you some default colors to mess around with it okay so click click on the staircase hold control
22:13right on the keyboard click the building go here and parent objects so now if i click the building
22:20i can remove everything i can move the fire escape to staircase everything and if i click on it i'll just
22:27go here and i can just remove that on its own if i want to do that as i said they're all separate so
22:32even all the stairs in there they're all separate so you can click on a certain step let's say a
22:38certain step like let's say this one and let's say now you're doing like a render an animation you can
22:44hide the step until it's broken or whatever so as a you can hide in the render you can't see it that way
22:53yeah anyway yeah it's up to you if you're like a point and click kind of game you can hide it here
22:59render it out so it's not there and later on in a different in a different in a different render
23:05you could put it back you can hide the whole building look like that if you want to and then
23:11render it so it's up to you however you want to render it now we need to put your item back in the room
23:18so go back to here import now obviously there's a couple of items here go back into download because
23:24they're outside the file so we're going to put in bed number one which goes into there as you can see
23:31perfect import bed number two again perfect of course if we spend more time doing them it'll make
23:43you look even a whole lot more better so as i said i'm just showing you the content that's bed number
23:49three and obviously because we haven't moved any objects because from the video we just kind of
23:56import everything so the bookshelf is over here for the door frame it's over here somewhere where is
24:03it oh yeah i forgot it underneath the shelf and yeah so anyway bring that in that's one

25:52parent down to the building opening select absolutely everything come back to here exporting
26:01and we want to call it whatever we're going to call that so whatever you're going to call that is
26:08it's it's actually yeah it's the asylum sewer that's what it is so we call it this we call it emma we call
26:17it ebc for mab cubes um yeah and it's called sewer so let me just get rid of all this part
26:25so it's called mab cubes mental asylum manhole sewer that's what it's called um i better put thing on this

26:48actually i'm going to take the mental part of it just in case there's a problem sharing on
27:02internet so i'm going to call it mab cubes asylum and it's called manhole sewer plot okay that's what
27:11that's the new name for it that's what we're going to be using so we go back to the great downloads
27:17and we look for the the new one which is right here opening and now this is the new model if you
27:23want to download it so here it is and we look through the tunnel thinking oh doesn't that look
27:29great imagine now you take that and put it in cry engine you're taking and put it inside a real engine
27:34and yeah a slight little bit of an issue going on here by the look of it
27:40and yeah oh and there look just a little bit under there yeah yeah i think i can live with that down
27:50here obviously i need to lift them then i'm going to put them inside the wall a little bit i need to
27:55lift them up a tiny bit so it doesn't matter because you're not going to fall through the floor and you're
28:00not going to be able to see underneath there but yeah yeah if it bothers you just kind of grab
28:05all of them and push them up so as i said let me go back and check it so what we can do we're going to
28:13to zoom into this just to kind of do it quickly to save you kind of doing it yourself click this

28:28i can kind of just half tilt in of this zoom in a little bit because it's actually under the floor
28:35not much just a fraction so i can just go here set origin geometry and i can just move it up a little
28:44tiny bit so now when we look under it as i said the only minor fixes that's what they are so just
28:52basically select everything apply all transforms go back here export glyph do this one get rid of this
29:02replace it as i said i don't want to give you something that don't work so i want to make sure
29:08that it's actually working for it i say go to downloads reload it make sure that we fix that part
29:16as i said dead the bench inside the room look underneath it ah it's all fixed how great is that
29:22these are just the holes inside of the wall itself you don't need to fix them you're never going to see
29:28as i said this is only like one mb cube where it snaps onto the next b cube so we're going to extend
29:34the tunnel later on we might actually even curve it around the corner so so it's not all straight lines
29:41basically as i said it's up to you if you want to kind of play around with it as i said it's only like
29:47a little demo level so you can load into your real engine and then you can run around the level see
29:53what it's like see if you like it if you like it great you can take the covers throw it on the floor
29:58take the beds throw out the door yeah yeah you can move the staircase if you want to but um yeah i
30:05wouldn't recommend moving the staircase but um anyway talk to you you can you can interact with them if
30:10you want to but um as i said at the moment they're interactive but when i when i do the former model
30:17the cupboards yeah you can still knock them over the bed you can still move the staircase will be glued
30:22to the ceiling and it will be glued to the floor so you won't be able to move it and your character
30:28that can hide under the staircase just in case you don't know that so anyway i really hope that you
30:34like the actual model and happy downloading customize twist bend and shape it however you want
