00:00Today, I see the fallout from this guy, Marks, and what he's done with the Nets.
00:06Like, who isn't abusing him today and talking bad about what he's done
00:12and how they butchered having five first-round picks
00:17and how they, you know, people are even making fun of him
00:22for just picking five guys instead of making a deal.
00:26So they made a deal today, right?
00:28I think they traded the 36th pick or something like this early in the second round
00:33for a couple of second-rounders down the road.
00:37But the fact that I'm like, you know, I didn't need to watch TV today
00:43to know when I saw those five picks that it was problematic.
00:51I don't need somebody else to tell me about how bad they did
00:55with their first-round five entries, right?
00:58Like, I didn't need help.
01:00But I was intrigued by seeing how many people bash him and make fun of their draft.
01:10When is the last time you saw anyone have five first-round draft picks?
01:14Never.
01:15How does never sound?
01:16And then you actually have five first-rounders and then you screw it up that badly?
01:21Now, look, everything has to take time and pan out.
01:25I get that.
01:26Fair enough.
01:27I'm down with that.
01:28But most people that are on the inside of the NBA and basketball,
01:35scouts, front office executives, coaches, et cetera,
01:41most of them, like, the reaction today about what they did with those five first-rounders
01:45was it was an abortion.
01:46Yeah, look, they're the first team ever to take five players in the first round.
01:54And aside from the kid from BYU who they took in the top ten,
01:59this Nolan Traore from France, Drake Powell, kid from UNC,
02:05Ben Sarraf from Israel, and then Danny Wolfe from Michigan,
02:11the big kid from Michigan that they took in the end.
02:13So, look, there were a lot of names available in a lot of those spots
02:21that maybe they could have went to.
02:22They went the we're going to develop the international kids.
02:27Look, I don't think Wolfe's the worst player I've ever seen.
02:30I like his footwork.
02:31I thought he was dominant for Michigan.
02:33He is a true heavyweight seven-footer who can, you know, he can spin.
02:40He has the footwork.
02:42He can get his shot and get inside, and he can dunk it.
02:46He can kiss it.
02:47He can flick it over the shoulder.
02:49He's got a bag of ability to finish at the ten.
02:55I liked his game.
02:56He was at Yale.
02:57He's a smart dude.
02:59Went to Michigan.
03:00I thought he capitalized on that opportunity, and I thought he was a force.
03:04To me, he looks like this is just me.
03:08If I were to compare him to somebody that made it in the league,
03:12he would remind me of Rick Smits, right?
03:14Now, Rick Smits is a lot better than this kid Wolfe,
03:19but the kid could actually turn into something based on his talent and size.
03:26Look, I'm still a big guy.
03:29I like bigs.
03:30I like guys that have the ability, that have the footwork, the hands, both hands,
03:35and that can do things from the elbows in, in the paint, in the low block,
03:40on the baseline, that can finish and that can, you know, get whatever they want,
03:47whether it's like Joker.
03:49He'll go driving in and float it, or he'll go driving in and pass it and get buckets.
03:54Joker's a bucket maker.
03:56Now, I play with seven-footers every day of the week,
04:00and they get what they want.
04:02They want it, they go get it.
04:04They just do it.
04:05This guy has that talent.
04:08Now, the question begs, how white is he?
04:11You know what I mean?
04:12Like, is he going to be a badass,
04:13or is he going to be another candy-ass white seven-footer in the NBA?
04:17Because there's a lot of them.
04:18And they, like, I'm telling you, Porzingis can shoot, but he's a Pete.
04:23That's just all there is to it.
04:24He don't want no part of that Pete.
04:26In fact, he lives outside like he's lost in the forest.
04:30I mean, this guy's standing out at the three-point line, scared to death.
04:34I'll tell you another guy that plays like that is Turner.
04:36Turner don't want any part of that meat inside in that violent zone.
04:41He's out there standing at 30 feet ready to chuck.
04:45You know, I need guys that want to bang and get it on,
04:48that are like, all right, you want to get physical tonight?
04:51All right, let's go.
