00:00The Philadelphia 76ers remain at that number three overall spot.

00:05And the pick is now officially in.

00:07The 76ers select the freshman from Baylor, B.J. Edgecombe,

00:12who in his lone year in college basketball, J.Y. in Waco,

00:16did a lot of great things for this Baylor side.

00:19A first-team All-Big 12 selection for Scott, Drew, and company.

00:23But one of the reasons people look at B.J. Edgecombe,

00:25the talented athlete and scorer that he is,

00:28and think his game can translate right away to the NBA

00:31is because of his work with the Bahamian national team.

00:34Last summer, trying to get the Bahamas to qualify

00:37for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

00:41B.J. Edgecombe now heads to the Philadelphia 76ers.

00:44How does he fit in the puzzle in Philly?

00:47That's going to be hard to see in regards to what they're going to do

00:50because they already have two guards.

00:52And McCain, coming back from injury, who had a great year,

00:54probably had a chance to be rookie, was going to be rookie of the year

00:57with the way Jared had started the year.

00:59And obviously, Tyrese Maxey missed his time as well.

01:02Then you also have Paul George.

01:03So are you looking at B.J. as your fourth guard, as your third guard?

01:09Are you moving Paul George?

01:10How are you doing so?

01:12I just have to see how it fits in regards to it.

01:15Now, regards to talent, yes, he's a talent.

01:18Is Ace Bailey talented?

01:19Not in my opinion.

01:20I think Ace Bailey is way more talented.

01:22Plus, I like the size of a 6'8 would have fit better with Philadelphia.

01:25But, trader Darryl Morey didn't make a trade.

01:29Shocked that he didn't do it.

01:31But to me, B.J. Edgecombe steps to the situation in Philadelphia,

01:34who right now, with Joel Embiid, which we don't know how long,

01:38Ben, his knees are going to hold up,

01:39they have to win, and they're going to win this year.

01:41Absolutely so.

01:43B.J. Edgecombe, a minus 850 favorite in those closing betting markets

01:47to be the third overall pick.

02:05What's your outlook on the Sixers in 2025-26?

02:20B.J. Edgecombe on one side is 12 or 13-1 for adding Desmond Bain.

02:25I think that that, first of all, is a number that is probably still not as short as Philly's was last season

02:31after bringing in Paul George.

02:33Philly runs the roster back.

02:34I understand the health concerns are there, but I think some people are now acting as if this is a bad basketball team.

02:42Joel Embiid played 19 games, half a season from Paul George, almost 30 missed games from Tyrese Maxey.

02:50From a talent perspective, Philly is still near the top of the East.

02:54I know, I always want to, like, the hypothetical was like, what if there weren't injury concerns for the 76ers?

03:00Like, would we be booking them as the favorite?

03:02Because the tiers in the East right now...

03:03I think they would have the second-best odds if you turned injuries off.

03:06Like, the tiers in the East are Cavs, Knicks, and then it's kind of like, eh, we got these other groupings of Magic.

03:12The Magic are in a tier above Philly by pricing.

03:16So, I think the talent, as Kevin's alluding to, the talent from the 76ers is phenomenal.

03:22It's just making the pieces work together.

03:25And having some real plan for Embiid, like, you're only playing every other game.

03:30Keep them healthy.

03:31Keep them out there.

03:33Edgecombe, I think, by the way, a legitimate chance, Ben, to start for that team over Jared McCain due to the defensive upside.
