00:00Brad's been pretty good at identifying players.
00:03He hasn't had a lot of opportunity in the draft yet.
00:06You know, maybe Baylor Shireman ends up being something,
00:08but like most of his maneuverings have been traits.
00:12So if he feels that strongly about moving up in the draft,
00:15then like, yeah, I'll see what that looks like.
00:17I'm fine for that.
00:18Plus, if you do want to get down the road of adding guys to Tatum and Brown,
00:23if you hit on a pick at 14,
00:26that's another guy that could be flipped away and traded away.
00:28You see that happen all the time.
00:29Hell, Shea Gildress Alexander was one of those guys that was picked there
00:33and then traded for a team that thought they were adding a better player
00:37and all that stuff.
00:38So, yeah, no, I'm open to that.
00:40That would catch me a little off guard,
00:41but that's another way to sort of build your team.
00:43And I think something that Brad Stevens would be excited about,
00:46because I'm sure he's like, oh, man, I got to do like salary moves right now.
00:49He's like, I want to do basketball moves.
00:51Because when he took over, he was just doing basketball moves.
00:54He was getting Drew Holiday.
00:56He was getting Al Horford.
00:57He was getting Chris Dasporzingas.
00:58These were all basketball moves.
00:59Now he's being told, well, these great trades that you made
01:03and contracts that you signed, we got to get rid of them.
01:05And so now he's like, all right, well, at least the draft,
01:07maybe that's more his sort of wheelhouse.
01:09Well, let's see.
01:10And you're fair to point that out.
01:11But here's what I would say.
01:12And we talked about this a couple of weeks back,
01:14maybe even a month back.
01:16Brad Stevens, I think, is a really good GM.
01:18But the degree of difficulty for him has been very, very, very low.
01:23I mean, he pretty much was able to bring in whatever he wanted and sign whoever he wanted
01:30to extensions.
01:31Like, his degree of difficulty has been pretty low.
01:34He came in with Tatum and Brown in place.
01:36I like some of the roster retooling he did.
01:38But he was able to acquire guys and then extend them and pay them.
01:43That's not a real high degree of difficulty.
01:45Like, Porzingis is available.
01:46Holiday became available because another team made a trade.
01:49Derek Roy was a good move.
01:50He went and pounced.
01:51That's a really good move.
01:51Derek Roy was a great move.
01:52I'll give you that one.
01:54But I just, I think now the degree of difficulty is a lot higher.
01:58Oh, through the roof.
01:59We're like, man, Brad Stevens never loses a trade.
02:01Well, he just lost one.
02:02This Porzingis trade is garbage.
02:04He just lost it.
02:05Whittle Niang, though, sets up shop in the corner.
02:07He starts burying threes.
02:08And if you want to start talking about saving money,
02:10well, then you should be front row at Fenway cheering on John Henry for all the money he saves
02:16and the way they just make great, brilliant, contractual trades.
