00:00Martinez with the infield in, and Ramos is going to catch, and he's going to throw.
00:07There's the catch, here's the throw, and they got him!
00:16Now, back to Will and Divi on 95.7 The Game.
00:21NBC Sportsberry and Kipe's call of Ramos, gunning him down at the play.
00:27That was a big play last night.
00:28Big time.
00:29In the top of the ninth.
00:31Great throw, great catch, great tag, and the whole thing now can't impede the runner,
00:38but we've got to be close enough to where we catch and tag.
00:40The whole thing was just flawless and just got him.
00:43Got him by an absolute centimeter, and for the moment, it was Logan Porter's final act
00:51as a professional San Francisco Giant.
00:54It was his finest hour.
00:55Yeah, thank you.
00:57Hey, we got some funky stuff that you didn't see coming that we need to get to before we get back to Devers and the Giants,
01:05but apparently, Grandy, do we have a lineup for tonight?
01:10Indeed we do.
01:11Okay.
01:11And you said maybe there are some new wrinkles.
01:15There's some changes.
01:16Okay.
01:17Yeah.
01:17All right.
01:18You guys want to try to figure out what it is?
01:20I'd be fun.
01:21I'd love to.
01:22I have not seen it yet.
01:23Okay.
01:24Now, is there a left-handed starter?
01:27Is that right?
01:28Yes.
01:29Logan Allen.
01:30Confirmed?
01:31Triple confirmed?
01:32Confirmed.
01:32Logan Allen.
01:33And he's not an opener.
01:34He's an after a starting pitcher.
01:36Not a great one, but yes, he is a starting pitcher.
01:38All right.
01:40I'm going to give you a wrinkle right now.
01:42You're going to wrinkle his wrinkle?
01:43I say Elliot Ramos is leading off.
01:46Whoa.
01:48Aha.
01:49Yeah, Grandy.
01:50You thought you had me on that one.
01:52Eat it, Grandy.
01:53Eat it.
01:54Yeah.
01:54There's another spot in the lineup that I don't think you're going to get.
01:57All right.
01:57All right.
01:58That was good.
01:59Ramos.
01:59That's off to you.
02:00Ramos is leading off.
02:02I think that they'll keep the next.
02:04You want to, like, do we go Adama's second, Devers' third?
02:07I would imagine so.
02:09Yeah, absolutely.
02:09Adama's second, Devers' third.
02:13Okay.
02:14All right.
02:14Now's where it gets interesting.
02:17Okay.
02:19We know that Flores is playing first.
02:21Yep.
02:22What else do we got?
02:24We got Jung-Hooley in center.
02:25Jung-Hooley in center.
02:27I imagine.
02:28The ball probably, hopefully, will get Schmidt on.
02:31Yeah, Schmidt will be at third.
02:33Fitzgerald will be at second.
02:34Right.
02:34And Bailey will catch.
02:35Bailey will catch.
02:36Who's playing right?
02:37Probably Yaz.
02:38Against the left even?
02:39Yeah.
02:40I'll help you guys out.
02:41But you named all of the right remaining position players.
02:44Okay.
02:44I would guess that batting fourth would be Wilmer Flores.
02:48Okay.
02:50All right.
02:50We got the first four all set.
02:54Now comes the hard part.
02:57Well, you got Jung-Hooley, Yaz, Schmidt, Fitzgerald, and Bailey are your remaining ones.
03:04Golly, where the hell is Jung-Hooley back tonight?
03:08Well.
03:09Okay.
03:10Go ahead.
03:10What were you going to say?
03:11I was going to say he's left-hand, right?
03:14Left-hand hitting?
03:15Yeah.
03:15Yaz is left-hand hitting?
03:16Correct.
03:17So you'd want to split them up, I would imagine.
03:19And Yaz is hot, by the way, too.
03:21He's hot.
03:22I think it would go Lee five, Yaz seven.
03:26And then that's just my gut.
03:28I defer to you, though.
03:29Randy said that there was another wrinkle.
03:31Yep.
03:32There's another wrinkle in there.
03:36Boy.
03:37I'm going to say that batting fifth after Flores is Mike Yastrzemski.
03:45You guys are both wrong.
03:47Oh!
03:48Oh, my God.
03:48I thought that was a new sounder.
03:50Ha!
03:52Lucas the Clown.
03:53All right.
03:53Who's batting fifth?
03:55Casey Schmidt is batting fifth.
03:57Yeah, okay.
03:57Casey, that'll make people really happy after last night.
04:01All right.
04:01So who's batting sixth?
04:02Well, now I would say probably Jung-Hoo Lee.
04:05Okay.
04:06Jung-Hoo Lee and then seven, eight, nine.
04:09Fitz, Yaz, and Bailey is what we have left.
04:11Right.
04:12Correct.
04:12So I would go.
04:13In some order.
04:13And you're coming off of Jung-Hoo Lee.
04:16So I'm going to go Yaz-Bailey-Fitz.
04:22Yaz-Bailey-Fitz?
04:24Yaz-Bailey-Fitz.
04:25You agree, Dibs?
04:25I personally would go Bailey-Yaz-Fitz, but I defer to Mark.
04:30Well, you made it easy, because yours are both wrong again.
04:32Oh!
04:32All right.
04:33Who is it?
04:34Batting seventh is Fitzgerald.
04:36Fitzgerald.
04:36Eighth, Yastrzemski.
04:37Bailey-Nighth.
04:38Bailey, okay.
04:39All right.
04:39They love that righty-lefty.
04:41So just real quick.
04:41Yeah.
04:42Ramos, Adamas, Devers, Flores, Schmidt, Jung-Hoo Lee, Fitzgerald, Yaz-Bailey.
04:47Okay.
04:48All right.
04:49Ramos.
04:50Go get them, boys.
04:51Hit them where they ain't.
04:53I like it.
04:53Yeah.
04:54That's exciting.
04:55And, you know, I do like the Adamas, Devers, 2-3.
04:58That, to me, is the one that you would want all year.
05:01Of course, and I can't wait until batting fifth is Matt Chapman rather than Casey Schmidt.
05:06Yeah.
05:07Do you know what I mean?
05:07Absolutely.
05:08Like, again, there are scenarios that exist that when Matt Chapman gets back, you have an
05:17opportunity to not make this your top five, but your top six.
05:22Your top six.
05:22Like, I think that the old standby, once everybody's healthy, my guess, Jung-Hoo Lee leads off,
05:31Adamas bats second, and then, obviously, Devers is going to bat third.
05:36It looked like, based off of last night, they kind of dig maybe Elliott Ramos batting fourth,
05:41and then you still have Flores and Chapman to play with.
05:45Now, do you want to do righty-righty-righty?
05:49Maybe they don't, so maybe somebody even drops down to seventh.
05:52But whatever.
05:54Whatever.
05:54The point is, is I think you've got six plus bats in a row that you could put at the top
06:01of the lineup.
06:02When Yaz goes on his streaks, he's, right, very serviceable.
06:06We'll see what Patrick Bailey can do.
06:08I tend to not mind about that because of the way he catches.
06:11And then, you know, Fitz is struggling right now, but, you know, whatever.
06:16Your second baseman, hopefully he can get it going a little bit.
06:19But that, to me, that's a lineup you can play with, man, especially with this pitching staff.
06:23Absolutely.
06:24And the key is, if you get six plus bats, and if Yaz can, you know, continue to contribute
06:30more regularly, then all of a sudden you don't have three automatic outs.
06:34This team has had three automatic outs for a long time, and no plus bats, really, or a
06:39plus bat here or there.
06:41And now you have legitimate bats, and if you can stretch the lineup, then you also reduce
06:45the number of players that are going to be in the lineup who are hitting below 200.
06:49I mean, I can just tell you, I bet a lot of you felt the same.
06:52When the top of the order was coming up last night, it was kind of like, all right, here
06:58we go.
06:59And it delivered some form of, like, action every single time it came up.
07:05They didn't always produce a run or two or whatever, but there were loud hits, there
07:12were people on base, they were threatening every single time they went through that portion
07:18of the order last night.
07:20And when it's five or six of your hitters, that comes at you fast.
07:24It does.
07:25It's kind of like the Dodger lineup, except for that one goes all the way through to nine.
07:28Right, exactly.
07:29And it feels like, as a Giants fan now, you can show up to a game and you can feel proud
07:35and you feel like you belong.
07:36You know, it's like when you're a kid and you show up with a backpack and your backpack
07:41is a hand-me-down from your older brother and everyone else has the shiny new Jantz port
07:45with all the fancy binders and you got some crappy backpack and now you've got one of these
07:50fancy backpacks too.
07:51So you pull up to the bus line and you feel like you're fitting in because you have what
07:56these other teams have.
