00:07for seriously injuring his younger sibling in a violent incident at their family home

00:11in Malacca.

00:13Appearing at the Aya Kero Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, the teenager was accused of

00:18killing his 51-year-old mother and 21-year-old brother between 5 a.m. and 5.30 a.m. on June

00:2512th at their home at No. 7, Jalan R.M. 3, Taman Rambai Mutiara, in the Malacca Tengah District.

00:33He faces two charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death

00:40penalty or 30-40 years imprisonment and no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane if the death penalty

00:47is not imposed.

00:50No plea was recorded, as murder charges fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

00:56For the third charge, the teenager was accused of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm

01:01to his 13-year-old younger brother using a folding knife at the same time and location.

01:06The charge was brought under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum

01:12sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine or whipping.

01:16The accused pleaded not guilty to this charge.

01:20No bail was granted for any of the three charges.

01:23Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani set July 24 for the case for remension.
