Melaka police have confirmed that a 17-year-old Form Five student is the prime suspect in the double murder case at Taman Rambai Mutiara, Bukit Rambai here. 00:24DCP Zulkairi said the victim's 21-year-old eldest son, who ran to his mother's aid,

00:29was also stabbed.

00:31Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

00:34He told reporters at the Melaka Police Headquarters at Bukit Beruang.

00:39DCP Zulkairi said the suspect also brutally attacked his 13-year-old brother,

00:44who is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Melaka Hospital.

00:59DCP Zulkairi said the murder is believed to have a problem.

01:39Police found the weapon in the suspect's school bag at the scene.

01:42When police arrived, the suspect was sitting on the porch of the house initially claiming

01:47that the murders were the result of a robbery.

01:50However, CCTV footage revealed otherwise, and police apprehended him at the scene.

01:58He also said police believe the motive behind the killings was revenge, as the suspect was

02:04unhappy with his mother's insistence on academic excellence.
