A grief-stricken farewell was held on Sunday (June 15) for a mother and son who were fatally stabbed in a family tragedy in Bukit Rambai, Melaka.

00:21The wake for the 51-year-old mother, a vernacular school teacher, and her eldest son, a 21-year-old
00:28college student, was held at the Jelutong Funeral Hall.
00:32Melacca Health Human Resources and Unity Committee Chairman Datuk Wihi Sirm said on Saturday that
00:38the woman's 13-year-old youngest son, who was injured in the attack, remains unfit for discharge
00:44and was unable to attend the funeral.
00:46At around 1 p.m., the hearses departed the funeral parlor for Huai Urn Memorial Park, where the
00:52cremation took place, accompanied by a solemn funeral procession.
00:56The tragedy occurred around 5 a.m. on June 12 in Bukit Rambai.
01:01According to Melacca Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Dzulkairi Mukhtar, the 17-year-old suspect
01:08is believed to have fatally stabbed his mother in the neck, waist and back using a folding
01:13knife.
01:14The youngest brother suffered serious back injuries after being stabbed while trying to save his
01:19mother and brother.
01:21Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect may have been driven by emotional distress
01:26and resentment, allegedly stemming from ongoing academic pressure and frequent scoldings.
01:33The suspect has been remanded until June 19 to assist investigations under Section 302 of
01:39the Penal Code for Murder.
