00:11The 47-year-old was accused of stabbing his 11-year-old son twice and seriously injuring

00:17him at their home in Pohontanjung at 8.55am on May 2.

00:22The charge was framed under Section 307 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail

00:27term of up to 20 years upon conviction.

00:30Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Aisha Naila Harizan did not offer bail, and the accused was unrepresented.

00:39The court set June 15 for case mention to obtain forensic and psychiatric observation reports

00:45from Hospital Bahagia in Perak.

00:48According to police, the accused has a history of mental issues, and the stabbing incident

00:53stemmed from a divorce proceeding with his wife.
