Jobless man charged with murder of parents, niece

A 48-year-old jobless man was charged in the Muar Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (Aug 20) with the murder of his elderly parents and 11-year-old niece.
Azman Mohamed Nor nodded after the three charges were read separately before Magistrate Suzana Mokhtar.

jail term between 30 and 40 years, and whipping of no fewer than 20 strokes of the cane.

The Court set October 24 for the re-mention of the case to obtain forensic, post-mortem

and chemical reports.

Meanwhile at the Sessions Court, Azman pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally causing

serious injury to his 14-year-old niece by using a wooden stick as a weapon capable of

causing death.

The offence was allegedly committed at the same location, time and day as the murders.

The charge was framed under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of

up to 20 years in prison, along with fines or whipping upon conviction.
