Investigations are continuing into the crash of a London-bound plane that killed 240 people, with the death toll likely to increase.
Transcript
00:00The plane crash in Ahmedabad has been described as one of India's worst air disasters in years.
00:07This, of course, was a flight en route to London, London's Gatwick Airport specifically.
00:14We know that many Hindu temples across the city have been holding prayers in respects to the victims.
00:23Of course, London has a fairly gigantic Indian population.
00:28We've also heard from the MP of Harrow East in London.
00:32MP Bob Blackman said some of his constituents in London had been notified of the deaths of their relatives in the disaster.
00:43He said these deaths were among the 52 UK nationals who died on the flight, but that it was not yet clear if they also lived in his constituency.
00:53He also said he believed there were many Indian nationals on board due to visit loved ones here in the UK.
01:03The flight was carrying 241 passengers.
01:06Only one single passenger of that flight survived fairly miraculously,
01:12considering the severity of the crash and his seat position close to the front of the plane.
01:19Just to give you a quick idea about the situation at Gatwick Airport,
01:24Air India has set up a friends and relatives assistance centre at Gatwick to provide support in the wake of the crash on Thursday.
01:35They said during a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, these centres are facilitating the travel of family members to India.
