241 people on board Air India plane killed in Ahmedabad crash

An Air India plane bound for London with 242 people on board crashed minutes after taking off from India's western city of Ahmedabad on Thursday, according to the airline and police.

00:00It's been a gut-wrenching 24 hours here in Ahmedabad.

00:06I've been speaking to families who have lost people in this horrifying plane crash.

00:11Their family members charred beyond recognition.

00:14And what they've had to do over this last day is to go and submit DNA samples

00:18so their loved ones can be identified.

00:21Now what we're hearing now is that bodies are being discharged in coffins from the hospital.

00:27An investigation led by India's aviation investigator and assisted by US and UK authorities

00:33are on the scene combing through wreckage, just trying to figure out what happened here, looking for a black box.

00:39And what we also know is that India's aviation minister has promised that this probe will leave no stone unturned.
