A 40-year-old British national miraculously survived the Air India plane crash which occurred shortly after take-off in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday. Friends of the man who survived the crash say they're still shocked he's lived to tell the tale.

00:00I'm in Leicester in the English Midlands, which has been hit particularly hard by the Air India crash.
00:07This is considered the heart of the Gujarati community in the United Kingdom.
00:12Gujarat, of course, is the state in which Ahmedabad is in.
00:16And we've been speaking to people today who say that they've taken that exact flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick.
00:23It's very popular in this area and many of them knew the 53 British citizens on board.
00:29We've been speaking to friends of Mr Ramesh, the 40-year-old here today, who say they're overjoyed that he survived.
00:36They're all so devastated that so many people lost their lives.
00:40Oh my God, he's the only one. How come, I mean, the rest of the passengers, where are they?
00:49And finally we came to know he's the only one who survived.
