Joe DeLeone and Ryan Roberts break down the elite skills of 5-star 2026 safety Bralan Womack, analyzing his instincts, athleticism, and game-changing potential.
00:00Braylon Womack's instincts are off the charts.
00:03We break down why this five-star recruit is ready to start right now.
00:11We've got another instinctive safety to talk about in this 2026 recruiting class.
00:17Ryan, Braylon Womack, unbelievable player.
00:21Ball is in the air.
00:22He's finding a way to come down with it.
00:24What stands out to you about Womack?
00:27I mean, he's one of my favorite players in the class.
00:28I mean, just the natural athleticism he has, Joe.
00:31He can return punts.
00:32He can play on the offensive side of the football.
00:34He's dynamic with the ball in his hands.
00:36But he has such a clean build as a safety.
00:40He's going to be six foot.
00:41He's going to be 205 pounds.
00:42He's explosive in tight areas.
00:44He's got natural ball skills.
00:46I just don't see many holes in Braylon Womack's game, man.
00:49He's just one of the most naturally athletically gifted recruits in the 2026 class.
00:55The thing for me that's really exciting, it's hard to find a five-star recruit that just knows how to make plays, just has the football IQ to know where to be, how to react, isn't hesitating.
01:11It's a process for kids to learn how to play football.
01:14So when you're seeing this level of instinct on the field early on, it provides a lot of optimism.
01:20I think that Womack, we could see an early contribution similar to what Caleb Downs did at Alabama.
01:28Not to the complete degree where he was unbelievable, and I'm not going to put that pressure on Womack.
01:32But if he started at safety for the team that he plays for in college as a true freshman, I wouldn't be surprised because it's all over his high school tape that he shows that he could be ready to contribute in some capacity.
01:46I mean, I think the one thing that holds people back from playing early on sometimes, especially at safety, is like just physicality aspect of the game, right?
01:54Like some guys are just a little bit more high cut, maybe need to gain good mass to their profile just overall.
01:59But this isn't one of those kids.
02:00I mean, he's a naturally just, I mean, he's a densely built kid.
02:03He's over 200 pounds already, you know, going into his senior year of high school.
02:07So, yeah, I think that this kid is an instant impact player.
02:10He's, again, one of my favorite players in this class because I think the versatility he brings is so awesome.
02:14Like I could see him playing both safety spots.
02:16I could see him playing a little bit of nickel, potentially.
02:18Like he has enough athleticism and just that change of direction ability to do a lot of different things in the secondary.
02:23So, versatility, playmaker, lots of love about Braylon Womack.
02:29In 2024, he was the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year.
02:34And it makes a lot of sense looking at his stats.
02:3739 tackles, 8 interceptions, which is bonkers.
02:40And if you haven't seen enough of his highlights, I implore you to go over to his huddle page where a lot of those interceptions are not just he happened to be in the right place at the right time.
02:48He is finding ways to go after the football.
02:51And he also had 54 receptions for 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns all over the place.
02:56And it translates to his ranking where he was the number one safety per 247 sports, the number two recruit in the state of Mississippi, and the 12th overall recruit in the class.
03:06Well, and like for some context of him being so well accoladed in the state of Mississippi, they are developing a couple of really dang good football players the last couple of years.
03:16We should talk about Deuce Knight in the 2025 class.
03:18Tristan Keyes is the wide receiver currently committed to LSU.
03:22That is also the only Mississippi recruit that is rated higher than Braylon Womack right now.
03:29So like he had to win that type of accolade against some really dang good football players in the 2024 season.
03:35So, yes, just to showcase how physically gifted he is, he's playing in a state that is continuously improving in terms of developing talents.
03:44And he is a standout in that state and does it on every side of the football.
03:49Folks, comment below your thoughts on Womack.
