00:00Faison Brandon isn't your typical quarterback recruit. He is a program changer. In today's
00:05video, we break down why this 2026 recruit has the potential to transform any program
00:10and why every team would be lucky to land him.
00:17Ryan, we can't talk about the 2026 recruiting class without bringing up Faison Brandon,
00:22currently committed to Tennessee. Who knows if that ends up changing by signing day, but this kid
00:26is very, very talented amongst him and Jared Curtis. What stands out to you with him at the
00:33class? I think he's a slightly boomer bust player, but that is because a little raw technically,
00:41just from the advancement of playing the quarterback position, the footwork and those
00:46types of things. But the things that get you super excited, Joe, and why so many teams have been
00:50pursuing this player is because he is a toolsy kid, man. He has everything you would want just
00:56from a pure arm strength, athleticism, moving the pockets, being able to work both in and outside
01:03of structure. If this kid hits, he has superstar potential. And if he does, he has a chance to
01:08make a college football team much better moving forward into the future. And I really love, we
01:14usually try not to talk about a team fit for a player because anything can change when we do these
01:19videos and we want it to remain open to if say he did end up changing his mind, but I really hope he
01:25sticks with Tennessee because I think his skillset works perfectly for what Tennessee needs at the
01:30quarterback position. I think that you do see some decisiveness, some aggressiveness on film.
01:35He also was stupidly consistent in his time as a starter 29 and one, and he had a 72.5% completion
01:45percentage with 71 touchdowns. That's per two, four, seven sports. This dude was making plays and he also
01:51was really reliable at connecting with his guys. I think that if there is a coach that is going to
01:57tap into those traits that he brings to the table and some of that rawness you mentioned and to develop
02:02it, it's going to be Josh Heupel. Yeah, no, I think Heupel is a good fit with Faison Brandon because
02:07again, I do that. I don't think Joe, and this is a little bit of a hot take because he's a five-star
02:12player. So people assume that he's going to come in and light the world on fire, but actually this is a
02:16kid that needs to come in and kind of learn a little bit, right? Like I think him red shirting
02:21is not the worst thing in the world or him at least having a veteran in the room for him to
02:25take over halfway through the season, like that type of thing. I do think that he's a young man
02:29that needs a little bit of a runway of development, but if he has developed well and he's in an offense
02:35that can really take advantage of his traits, I do think again, I think that the sky is the limit.
02:41Like there is no limit to how good Faison Brandon can be. Touching on his background, currently listed at
02:46six foot three and a half, 200 pounds coming from Grimsley High School, Greensboro, North Carolina.
02:53He on the just overall 24 seven sports rankings, not the composite rankings is the number one
02:58quarterback, number one recruit in North Carolina and the number one recruit nationally. He also pretty
03:05good basketball player this past, actually not his pasture, but as a 10th graders, the last time
03:10we've recorded stats, 11.4 points per game, 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Not exactly going on to
03:18play college basketball, but still, I always love when I see a quarterback who's got a basketball
03:22background and had some pretty good production because it just proves this is a guy who can just
03:27pick up any sport and can do it effectively.
03:30Well, it flashes on his film, obviously for he has, if he was just a passer and he was a strictly a pocket
03:38quarterback, his pure arm strength and ability to throw football at multiple levels of the field, that
03:45would be good enough for him to be a dynamic player. But the fact that he is as athletic as he is, right?
03:50Like he can do things working outside of structure. He can extend the pocket. He can extend within a pocket.
03:55He has all those capabilities of being a deadly player with his feet, which is huge. I also love
04:02Joe. I feel like we're talking the last couple of years, a lot more about North Carolina recruiting.
04:06And it seems like North Carolina is a state just generally that is kind of on the uptick and phase
04:11on Brandon is one of the most latest, obviously of these elite players that are coming out of the state
