· A time of desolation coming on earth which will affect all people, all races, all classes, rich and poor, secular and religious. (verse 1-2) · Polluted environment leading to desolation of earth. (3-5, 17-20) · Moral pollution, breaking God’s laws, leading to end of the good life. (5-11) · Economic crisis, leading to ruin in the city, financial crisis. (12-13) · Bad government, led by ‘treacherous dealers’ bringing antichrist forces to power. (12, 16) · Judgement coming on the wicked (demonic powers and human powers) (21-22) · Deliverance for the righteous as the Messiah Jesus / Yeshua comes again to reign from Jerusalem with His redeemed people. (verse 23 + chapters 25-27)
