00:00When your wife is a storm, when she's flustered and stressed, she's not asking to be managed.
00:05She just wants to feel met, not dismissed, not counted, and definitely not fixed.
00:10But someone asked me, what does it actually look like when a man does this?
00:15It's a great question. Looks like this.
00:18He doesn't get flustered. He doesn't roll his eyes. He doesn't leave the room.
00:24He doesn't raise his voice or try to overpower her, but he also doesn't shrink.
00:30He stays right there, calm, grounded, still.
00:36And when she's storming, venting, emotional, when she's in it, he lets it move through her without trying to grab it or stop it.
00:46He might say, I'm here. I can take it.
00:50He might put his hand on her arm and hold eye contact.
00:53He might just stand there and not disappear, which can feel like a freaking miracle to a woman who's never had that before.
01:00It's not ignoring. It's holding with his eyes, with his body, with his energy, because the storm doesn't need to be stopped.
01:07It needs to know that it's safe to pass through.
01:10When a man can do that, that's when a nervous system finally says, OK, I'm not in this alone.
01:17I'm not in this alone.
01:23I'm not in this alone.
