New Delhi, May 21, 2025 (ANI): CPI (M) MP John Brittas on May 21 said that their first delegation meeting is in Japan and will move to Korea afterwards. He also said that they will be interacting with civil society members, media, public opinion makers, and many sections of the society in these countries. “Our delegation's first meeting is in Japan, from there we will move to Korea. We will also cover Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. These are important countries, and we feel we can convey the message of our nation against terror...The contours of the interaction have been decided. We will be interacting with civil society members, media, public opinion makers, and many sections of the society in these countries. This is a massive exercise...,” said John Brittas.
00:00Yes, we are going to touch base with Japan. Our delegation's first meeting is in Japan and from there we will move to Korea and we will cover Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
00:15These are all very important countries and we feel that we can convey the message of our nation, the message against terror, the message of the importance of a plural, diverse, democratic country like India, the need of the hour, that is that the world community need to come together to fight the terror.
00:35Basically, I mean the condors of the interactions have been already decided and it's not a hard and fast rule that you see how we should speak, what we should speak and most of the members in the delegation are mature enough and erudite enough, they understand the ethos of our country and since these are not formal diplomatic channels,
01:01there could be, I mean state actors also, government ministers and MBs, but we will be interacting in a free-wheeling manner with the civil society there, the academic community, the media and many sections of that country.
01:17So, we feel that the media also would be taken into conference there, so the public opinion makers or shapers of the particular country would be looped in and we hope that we can decimate the message of our nation.
01:31And this is a massive exercise, though in the past India had sent delegations, but this is the first time that delegations go to different destinations that having a larger footprint and these countries are very important, relevant, contextual.
01:48Many are security council members, most of them, all of them and those countries who are going to be security council members, those countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, etc., which has got sizable Muslim population and picking up countries from different geographical locations and I think this would be fruitful that our concerns are addressed by the world community.
