New Delhi, June 04, 2025(ANI):  After completing a five-nation visit as part of an all-party delegation, CPI-M MP Dr John Brittas said, "Now, since the opposition members who are part of the outreach delegations have fulfilled their obligations and duties, it is for the government to fulfil its duty, convene the parliament, and inform the people and the world community." "We got a mixed response from Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia- the countries we visited. There was much misinformation in that part of the globe, maybe because of the Western media's reportage on the Indo-Pak skirmishes. There were impressions that India has been doing something against Pakistan, and our mission could ensure that India's position is explained. We feel that the message of this mission has gone down very well among those countries we visited. At the end of this mission, we feel that we have been able to fulfil the responsibility given to us. Now, since the opposition members who are part of the outreach delegations have fulfilled their obligations and duties, it is for the government to fulfil its duty, convene the parliament, and inform the people and the world community."

00:00So much of misinformation, disinformation in that part of the globe,
00:04maybe because of the Western media's reportage on Indo-Pak skirmishes,
00:10there were so many impressions that India has been doing something against Pakistan,
00:17and Pakistan was claiming victimhood.
00:20But our mission could ensure that India's message and the actual position that was on the ground,
00:26this was explained to them.
00:28We also told about the incidence of terrorism that was inflicted on India.
00:35The difference between India and Pakistan also was given as a big description there,
00:41India being a secular, with rich diversity, democratic country,
00:46where Pakistan indulging in theocratism and also military role.
00:50And we feel that the message of this mission has gone down very well among those countries.
00:57We could meet state agencies, state actors, non-state actors, ministers, parliamentarians, think tank, media, community,
01:07and all those sections of the society.
01:10And at the end of the day, when we have completed the mission,
01:14we feel that we have fulfilled the mission or the responsibility that was understood to us.
01:20Having said this, now since the opposition members who are part of the outreach team
01:26have fulfilled their obligation and duty,
01:29it is for the government to fulfill its duty of convening the parliament and informing the people.
01:36We have informed the world community.
01:39Now let the government take the initiative to convene the parliament
01:42so that our Indian people are also informed about nuances.
01:47We don't want to have a unilateral description of the events.
01:52Let it be as per the rules of the democracy,
01:55where questions could be asked, where suggestions could be done.
01:59Let there be a fruitful discussions and discourse on the floor of the parliament
02:04so that we can take the people along with us.
02:06Sir, it started in 16 political parties from the opposition
02:09as written letter to the Prime Minister.
02:13See, the tagline of that is very simple.
02:16Yes, despite the differences, we cooperated with the government.
02:22We fulfilled our duty.
02:23Let the government also discharge its obligation and duty to the Indian people.
02:29That was a sum and substance of the letter.
02:32I am just putting it as a tagline so that people can understand that.
02:34And also the government could legibly understand what we actually want.
