New Delhi, July 11, 2025 (ANI): One Nation One Election JPC Chairman PP Chaudhary on July 11 said that they believe that their report should be prepared in national interest. “We had gone on a study tour to different states for 'One Nation One Election'. In Maharashtra, we met the CM, Deputy CMs, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, political parties, Government, public sector undertakings and civil society members. All of them believed that 'One Nation One Election' should be implemented but a few political parties feared the national issues vs state issues factor. We went to Uttarakhand too, people said that due to geographical factors, it gets very difficult to reach remote areas...They too spoke for 'One Nation One Election'. We then went to Chandigarh, where we spoke with Punjab Government, state cabinet ministers, Haryana CM, Speaker, members of civil society. It was a good experience. We received input from everyone. In Himachal Pradesh, we met CM, Deputy CM, Speaker, Chief Secretary and others. We are collecting inputs from everyone. All members of the committee are taking a keen interest. Rising above party line, we believe that our report should be prepared in national interest. Today, as well, we are meeting the former CJI Justice Khehar, Justice DY Chandrachud are coming before the committee for interaction.
