00:00right into the number four heart of honor that's where we left off dz what a cool story for this
00:05horse trainer jamie osborne is going to have his 23 year old daughter riding this horse
00:11they're going to be teaming up father daughter combo in the preakness i think we've only had
00:15like three or four different women actually have a mount in the preakness previously there have
00:19not been a ton through the years this would be an incredible story this is a horse who has never
00:24been worse than second in the six races that he's been in he finished second in the uae derby
00:29that's the race that forever young won last year before coming over here and having all that
00:34success what do you think about heart of honor yeah but this year's uae derby did not have a
00:39forever young in it uh admire daytona it seemed that his lone purpose in the kentucky derby was
00:44to stop in burnham square's face on the far turn and cost him any chance of being the ticket much
00:50to my dismay but uh no look i respect the horse any horse that's never missed the exacta in six
00:55lifetime starts uh you have to respect that it's a great story but admire daytona obviously the form
01:02was not flattered in the kentucky derby by any stretch of the imagination uh even luxor cafe who
01:07handled admire daytona easily uh in a race in japan was a non-factor in the kentucky derby this year
01:12it seemed like the japanese runners were not at the same level as they were in 2024 so heart of honor
01:19while he's a very nice horse love the story respect any horse that does as well as he does
01:24uh i would be astonished actually he would he would actually be the horse that would shock me more than
01:29anybody else if he were to jump up and win this race alexa can you build a case for him i mean i
01:34think he's a wild card in here i could see playing him underneath for for a price if you really like
01:38um you know first time in north america so if you're looking at uh the pps that we have for you
01:44on the screen the reason why there's no early pace no late pace it's not on the pace projector it's
01:48because we don't have any information from running here in the states yet so um just a note about the
01:54time from us pps alexa while we have you let's talk about the five pay billy and we actually have a
01:58replay of his last race which was a win at laurel park it was the federico tesio that's the race that
02:04qualified him to get into the preakness he's been in really good form he's won four of his last five
02:10races he just is gonna have to step up and run a little bit faster against this field what do you
02:15think about him yeah we actually talked about this race a bunch in our preview last friday because
02:21two horses that ran in that race surside moon and happily delusional came back to run in the peter pan
02:25last weekend they both disappointed which i don't think bodes super well for pay billy in here um who's
02:30already kind of light on his speed figures and i think he'll want the lead as well and probably won't
02:35get it so for me um i'm leaving pay billy out dz feels like he'll be one of the longer shots in the
02:41field can you make a case for pay billy i can't make a case from the win uh with the right setup
02:46he could be a horse that i look i always followed the notion that almost anybody could run third or
02:49fourth in a race um you know i he's an improving type uh he's he's done well in the local tracks i've
02:55seen horses like him who have done well in the maryland circuit before run well i remember the horse
03:00that ran second to war emblem back in 2002 uh was a similar type uh his figures are on the lighter side
03:07he would need to jump up tremendously to win but with the right setup if he if he sat third or fourth
03:12and handled that trip could he run third or fourth yeah the number six river teams is a horse who was
03:18behind sovereignty in the fountain of youth he looked like he was going to beat sovereignty that
03:22day and sovereignty really surged late got him right on the wire then in the bluegrass i'd say it was a
03:28little disappointing we have the replay here he just was a little flat late but darren when you kind of
03:34look at those two races and the horses who he faced it feels like he's coming out of the stronger
03:39races burnham square won this race he came back and he ran really well when having trouble in the
03:44kentucky derby and then using sovereignty as kind of a measuring stick for him if he runs something
03:49similar to that sovereignty form that should put him in a good spot he didn't run in the derby his
03:54connections decided to point for the preakness and it's crazy that pletcher and irad they've never won
04:00either one of them you would like you wouldn't really think about that when you think of those two
04:03i just think he's in a really nice spot i figure he's gonna run well in here how do you feel about
04:08river teams i love everything about him except my concern is will he want to go this far uh that was
04:14the concern for him in the bluegrass stakes uh it's the concern i would have had for him in the
04:18kentucky derby and it's the concern i have for him here i think he's in a great spot in post six
04:22i think he's shown versatility i think he could sit in the first flight of stalkers and work out a
04:27great trip he's got the right trainer he's got the right jockey i think he's coming out of the right
04:32races i think the florida circuit and the california circuit were the two strongest by far
04:36he took the kentucky derby winner to a neck in the fountain of youth stakes in a uh preakness that
04:42doesn't have all of the firepower that the derby had that's definitely good enough for me especially
04:46if he's going to be between nine to two and five to one i'll take the upside and run the chance that
04:51maybe this is a little bit farther than he wants to go alexa what are you going to do with river teams
04:55i mean i would just echo what you guys are saying um you know a strong contender in here i have
05:00second behind journalism sandman next up we know that sandman will come with that big late kick he
05:07just needs a little help up front right alexa he's a closer so i have him under i think if things were
05:12to set up for him he could run well but quick turnaround and i and he just needs that help up
05:18front yeah i don't think it's going to be the best setup for him i also don't think he liked the
05:22wet track in the derby um which he might get again here i know his trainer said he came out of the
05:28derby great but i'm not leaving him totally off my selections but he's near the bottom dz what do
05:34we do with the the strong closer sandman yeah just like the derby for me he's a complete toss out
05:38uh and it has to do with the value and the price so i'm of the opinion that i think river teams and
05:43journalism they're both going to hit the board and if that's the case what am i going to do with
05:47including sandman there's going to be no return there i need to get some value into the lower parts
05:52of the exotics my problem with him sure the excuse could be he didn't like the off track but when you
05:57go back and you watch the derby the horses that ran one two three four in the derby came from 16th
06:0310th 15th and 19th so it was a close should have set up for him should have set up for him and he was
06:11tracking sovereignty down the backstretch when sovereignty started to make his move he stayed
06:16with him for about three sixteenths of a mile and then there was nothing left in the tank and final
06:21gambit even went by him like he was tied to a pole at the 316s pole so based on that performance
06:27in a race that should have set up well for him and he had a very clean trip in the derby
06:31even though he was a little bit wide uh at a short price he's a complete toss out for me
06:35dz we got about a minute left in this segment i want to get your thoughts on the two outside horses
06:40and then your selections alexa in our next segment you and i will go through our selections and then
06:45we're going to give our preakness bet so dz give us a thought on clever again and then goster
06:49clever again high upside individual the pedigree says that the distance should be no problem
06:54there's going to be speed signed on to his inside quality speed that's going to maybe push him a
06:59little bit he's got a strong win over gaming last time out i respect his talent i respect his
07:04connections he's a use for me goes there is a horse that is yet to run a figure that's fast enough to
07:10win this race um i do respect the fact that he's put all put it all together very quickly and if he
07:15does get the right setup i could see him clunking up for a piece at a price but no more than that
07:20let's flash those selections for darren zocali and remember folks twinspires.com that's the place to go
07:27and remember you can check out all of the wagering uh information and all the bonuses darren was talking
07:33about
