00:00I am so happy that I wore waterproof mascara, is how I'm feeling.
00:06That's the Menendez brother's cousin crying tears of joy after a judge resentenced them from life without parole
00:12to 50 years to life with the possibility of parole in a courtroom victory that people are calling...
00:18Irrelevant.
00:19We were going to say a major milestone in their fight for freedom, but you do you.
00:22It is a big development. Yes, it is.
00:25Well, no, it's not.
00:26Well, yes, it is.
00:27Nope, I'll tell you why.
00:28I'll tell you why.
00:30Someone tell us why.
00:31All the judge said was, okay, I'll make him eligible for a parole hearing, but there's already a parole hearing.
00:37Yes, back in February, California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered the state parole board to begin reviewing the Menendez case.
00:43It gives Gavin Newsom cover.
00:44There's no cover.
00:45Because another person has agreed that they should have a parole hearing, but that's already going on.
00:49Well, you know who else is downplaying the judge's decision? The DA who lost the case.
00:54So Nathan Hockman was licking his wounds. He had a press conference where he sort of made some excuses.
00:59Ultimately, it lands on Governor Newsom's desk, as do all parole decisions. We actually do 180,000 criminal cases every year.
01:07So you win some, you knew some?
01:09Gavin Newsom's rolling the dice here because how many people in this room think they should never be released?
01:14I think it's more than that in the public. And he's going to run for president.
01:19This is so radioactive, he should stay so far from it.
01:22But he's not. But that's what's so interesting.
01:24I think the Menendez brothers are now going to be free.
01:25I think they're going to be free, too.
01:27They should walk free when Jose and Kitty walk free and go to the store, go to dinner, go to the gym.
01:32Eye for an eye.
01:33Well, as the saying goes, an eye for an eye leaves everyone bloodlust satisfied.
01:39Good luck at the parole hearing.
01:40Good luck at the parole hearing.
