Most of the UK will be dry, calm and clear throughout the overnight period. However, cloud will begin to form first along the eastern coast of England which will extend into central areas as dawn approaches. There will be a southerly breeze along east coast of the UK mainland and it will be rather chilly for the time of year. This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 14/05/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Clare Nasir.

00:00Hello there welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:03Office. The weather remains dry through the next few days and also into the
00:09weekend. It's a blocking pattern keeping things at bay in terms of wet weather
00:15and high pressure sits towards the north of the UK. So it's the orientation of
00:20the winds particularly on this eastern side despite the fact you will see some
00:24sunshine it's going to feel cooler than in shelter towards the west and this
00:29wind always delivering more cloud from time to time. In fact that's how we see
00:34this evening and overnight. Notice this low cloud just shrouding the coastline of
00:39southeast Scotland, eastern counties of England and moving inland towards Pennines
00:44as well as the Midlands, central southern England and East Anglia and a little
00:49har also across eastern counties of Scotland to start the day on Thursday.
00:53It's a bit chilly as well particularly across the glens of Scotland like the
00:58last few nights into the early mornings. Elsewhere temperatures holding up
01:02probably around 6 to 10 towards the west. So first thing tomorrow morning you may
01:06find a little more cloud across eastern counties but it will break up and you will
01:12see some sunshine through the day. Elsewhere strong sunshine, another day of blue sky,
01:17another dry day as well. Now through the afternoon temperatures responding to that
01:23sunshine so we'll see values coming in yet again the low twenties. However along the
01:30eastern strip because of the onshore breeze probably around the mid teens but
01:35inland temperatures recovering very nicely once that cloud breaks. So that's the
01:39picture through Thursday. Thursday evening and overnight yet more cloud just
01:44slip southwards and this is low clouds which again could affect eastern counties
01:50into Friday morning. A bit chilly to start the day under some clearer skies on Friday but
01:56it's going to be a fine day. The clouds a little bit more stubborn along this eastern
01:59strip here but even so it should break at times. A bit cool with that breeze coming
02:03in from the north. Inland though 21, 22 degrees Celsius and your outlook through
02:09Saturday. It's a similar setup, not a lot changing but please be aware that UV levels
02:15continue to be high wherever you are. Have a lovely evening and I'll see you again soon.
