00:00Liverpool restaurant week starts on the 10th of May and there are hundreds of
00:06offers available at eateries across the city centre and we've got these lovely
00:11foodie passports and you can collect five stamps if you go to five venues
00:16over the week you'll get entered into a draw to it so for the chance to win a
00:20prize for every week of the year so 52 vouchers for 52 different venues so it's
00:26absolutely amazing the winner from last year is still going one of the
00:29restaurants involved is Lunya which started in 2008 with a food stall at
00:34World Food Festival that a Catalonian deli restaurant and bar on Hanover Street
00:38with the little sister site Lunya Lita at Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock we've got
00:43some wonderful places in the city haven't we some fantastic food but we need
00:47people to get out and we need to get out ourselves because if we don't go and
00:51support it we're only gonna lose it I've got my favorite restaurants but I think
00:57in restaurant week it's not a chance to just just go back to them and get their
01:01offers and be with their staff and know their vibe let's try something new let's
01:06go to someone I've never been that might be somewhere on the docks somewhere on
01:09castle seats the UK restaurant industry in 2025 is navigating a complex economic
01:15landscape marked by rising operational costs shifting consumer behaviors and
01:20evolving dining trends it's it's a difficult difficult time to be in the
01:25sector both from you know staff even even for customers actually because the
01:30amount of places you go now and there's there's less people to serve and and it's
01:35a shame but I think Scousers we stick together don't we we're gonna go and
01:40support our own anyway whether that's going to your local pub or coming out on
01:43restaurant week coming to say hello designed to encourage diners to find new
01:48favorites discover hidden gems and enjoy the buzz of Liverpool's restaurant scene
01:52without breaking the bank the popular campaign returns to the city this May
01:57with a whole new host of offers so 2024 was just an incredible year we had over
02:03two hundred and thirty seven thousand pounds worth of vouchers downloaded on the
02:06website so people are so keen the website crashed the first day it was so busy so we
02:12have increased the bandwidth on the website and we are expecting you know as
02:16busy as you know the numbers are already looking as busy as they were and
02:19obviously we've extended it to over nine days this year because a lot of
02:23feedback last year was oh I'm not here that weekend I'm not here so we thought
02:26let's get two weekends let's get more chance for people to enjoy this offer
02:30the event gives local venues the chance to provide customers with deals
02:33taking place and what can be a quiet week of the year to support the
02:38industry it was first launched last year and is designed to cast a
02:41spotlight on the city's restaurant sector all participating venues offer deals
02:46between five and thirty five pounds and I think discussing this it really makes us
02:51remember and opens our doors to like you know we've got this culinary scene in
02:55this city just something to be so proud of you know what I mean
